[Q] Missing Notification Bar!!! Please Help!! - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I've been using NexusHD2 v1.9 nand with no issues at all. I downloaded a few gingerbread roms and everyone is missing notification bar/clock/etc. I feel like i need to flash something coming from froyo to GB, but all the zip files i download don't have a installer or flash file within the zip file.. I'm using MAGLDR and CWM recovery. I also use Launcher Pro but even using stock launcher, same results.
any ideas? Thank You!!! this is frustrating...

i had similar probleme with market missing after installing the rom ...install titanium backup ...and serach for notification bar u might find it frozen ...just infreeze it and reboot.

hmm... didn't seem to help but thanks...

[Mod][28th July] Percentage Battery Mod for deodexed ROM

This mod requires deodexed ROM so currently only made for SamSet.. If you have a deodexed ROM and need my assistant, please let me know
Strongly suggest you use ROM Manager by Clockworkmod to backup your ROM before doing anything
Thanks to brut.all, judison, Fightspit and setenza01 for this nice looking ROM
Instructions:
1) Download and install ROM
2) Use my zip as update.zip and flash in recovery
Download
For SamSet v1.6 ROM
Custom CSC for Singapore network users see here
This doesn't work. Applied the update fine, but when rebooted, black screen with a bunch of FC's. Had to restore. Was running ROM Samset 1.6 as recommended.
Did u use stock recovery or rom manager to flash?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
First used rom manager and nothing happened. Then used stock recovery, applied, and when booted, got the FC's. I could see the percentage in the battery, but that's about it. The FC's would not let me do anything else. Any suggestions?
hmm.. i've tried it again and it works on mine. only difference is im using clockworkmod to flash (remember to mount /system first)
anyway, i've resigned so download again..
Just installed your Mod. Works fine on my Galaxy S.
Thanks a lot !
Thanks, nice work. I have searched such a mod.

Just tried it again, and seems to be working now. I applied update.zip from stock recovery and seemed to be fine. Thanks for the mod.
does this work on samset 2.0?

most likely not, jp2 is development firmware, i will make one but will not support it since i wont be using jp2 as my daily rom
installed, it works~ =)
does it look good?
the sceenie looks like the numbers are blurry ...
anyway to go back to stock samset battery if i dont like this one?
Could you make an update out of the images i have linked? it's a circle battery with % in it. also the charging got a few more images.
I can get the images into framework-res.apk with no problem but the problem i'm having is modding the two battery xml files and the packing the apk again to get it to work
i've already tried this:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2812085&page=58
as it does not quite match the theme, i modded samset battery to fit the theme

[Q] Help with ROM Manager with RubiXFocused 1.8.6

I just installed RubiXFocused 1.8.6 yesterday. I installed it by booting into Clockwork Recovery (I think that's what it's called) and installing the zip file. It is a brand new ROM for the Droid X and I am very happy with it. The only thing is that it has a white status bar and I think it would look a lot better with a black one.
I looked online and found that the easiest way to do this would be through ROM Manager. So I got ROM Manager and tried to install Blackmodz Black Bar. Everything works until it reboots and tries to install the update. About halfway through I get an error showing a triangle with an exclamation mark inside and the android next to it. And then the phone reboots with no update.
I am in bootstrap recovery when I do all of this. Any help??
That black bar that you are trying to install is not compatible with Rubix at all. Rubix uses a completely different framework. When you try to install that black bar- it is trying to replace the Rubix framework-res.apk. Thankfully you were "unsuccessful".
Might I ask- are you keeping up with the thread on Rubix 1.8 over here...
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/drod2169-x/97764-often-imitated-never-duplicated-focused-1-8-6-a.html
...it is very helpful and you will be able to find modifications that work in this thread. Now that you are running RubiX you must be careful with any mods that you do to your X bc Rubix is using a framework-res.apk that is unique to the Rom and not shared with any of the other roms or the original Moto rom. that means most mods need to be specifically designated for rubix 1.8.
hope that is helpful and didn't come off sounding superior. I hate being talked down to but noticed that inadvertently I can sound that way.
good luck.
Not at all. thank you so much for your help. I had not seen that thread and it is super helpful.

Can someone please let me know rubix 1.8.9 is more stable than 1.8.6 ? I have a rooted droid X running OTA 2.2. I have YET to install a custom ROM, and am a little apprehensive, as I do NOT want to BRICK my phone. Also, can someone please verify the correct procedure to install a custom ROM. I have Clockwork Recovery Manager installed, as well as Koush's bootstrap for DX. I believe I have to boot into Clockwork Recovery and perform - wipe data/wipe cache, and then install zip from SD (once I put the ROM zip file on the SD).then sit back and let install..continue..Am I missing something? Thanks for any help/advice.

[Q] Best Android Version For Calls, Gaming and Surfing

First of all, I'm sorry if there is a thread similar to this, or with the same purpose. I'm opening this thread because I've tried almost every mod for LG GT540 and I don't know what to use anymore...
Been a long Cyanogen mod user, I've now changed to Super Fast Froyo and I find it really as it says SUPER FAST.
What I'm asking you is, if you can tell me what is the best mod for playing games the phone wasn't designed for (any 3D game), surfing (without force closes), and using the phone as a PHONE (calls, messages - without force closes)
I've tried OpenSwift (don't know what version) about 3 months ago.. and I was able to play games, but in that time the mod wasn't stable...
Also, Cyanogen 7 (2.3.3) and I wasn't able to play games.. though the phone worked smooth, with some force closes and few restarts..
I've searched lots of forums, but everywhere there are persons saying this is better than that and vise versa..
That's normal yea.. but got tired of that, and decided to open a thread here..
About the games not playing.. well I maybe am a beginner.. but I've tried everything I could..
Any help appreciated ..
Thanks.
Stay on a custom 2.1 rom it will solve all ur problems..
Use swap for speed.
Link sd for unlimited storage space.
Nothing is as stable as 2.1 version.

I agree with sanmit that everything works in 2.1 and for games is good. So you should stay in one of the many good custom versions out there. And check the other posts until devs cook something worth it to change again. Now mur4ik has released version 2.0. So will see how it goes and inform

Thanks for replying!
I've decided to go with Elegance Swift 2.1, but I have a problem now... I can't flash it with Clockwork Recovery... it says "installation aborted"
I have wiped user data, phone, cache.. everything but it just doesn't work.. Is there a way to do this with fastboot? That's lots easier.. but I see a file called "data.img" here and don't know how to write that on phone
Thanks.
buya new phone?
just sayin, i dont think the gt540 is the best one for gaming. as its not capacitive screen. so you cant play mario or something smooth. but yeah as said above the stock 2.1 is the best. as i hav the SwiftDroid milestone1 V2.0 android 2.3.3 the battery dies too quick to play many games.
I don't want new phone lol
by the way... I found out how to install via Recovery.. but now my phone won't boot.. it's stuck on LG LOGO...
I can't post in developers threads.. and I can only ask here..
hi mate you need to flash both the recovery image and the boot image that should get your phone working again

Well.. I flashed clockwork recovery (if that's what you meen) and using CR i used the option restore to actually install the Elegance Swift 2.1 mod
do i have to flash the boot image after i did this with fastboot or?
EDIT
Did use fastboot for boot.img, still the same problem...
if you flashed via recovery then the boot.img should have been included in the backup so in what i will do is download the rom your tring to use and make a fresh backup and upload it for you
link me to the thread you downloaded the rom from

http://www.sendspace.com/file/a8l3hg
Thanks for the effort .. but I'm getting FAILED (data transfer failure (Too many links))
when trying to send system.img to phone
EDIT
I'm using XP SP3, does that changes anything? :\
EDIT 2
Can you just tell me how to do this with Clockwork?
to do it via recovery copy the zip file you and me downloaded to to the root of your sd card then go into recovery and select install update zip then select choose update zip and then select the zip file you copied to the root of the sd card

It worked, finally!
Thanks a lot for you time and help
no problem anytime
I think that CM7 is a lot better than 2.1 in many terms. (battery is worse, but it still lasts 2 days)
Use the stock 2.1 thats the best for your wishs...
Its the most useful...
i try everything but always back to stock or soft mod 2.1

JW MIUI 1.7.1 crashes often

Hello guys,
i have big problems with JW MIUI 1.7.1. It is very unstable for me. I am using MIUI since a long time and I flashed the new one before a few days.
I flashed it with Clockwork recovery. My problem is that it often crashes and reboots automatically. I cant say when this happens but it happens about 10 times per day.
Where can i read errors from?
In the JW MIUI 1.7.1 thread is written that Clockwork users have to install an update but when I flash this magldr says "Boot kernel load failed".
Can anyone help me? I love MIUI and the ROM is great again but these heavy crashes suck
Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english

Did you try a clean install?
Just use the daf thats inside the download file. Make sure you change the flash.cfg file as suggested.
I always do a MIUI backup than clean install (also repartition sd card) and flash. After that use Backup to get your apps back again.
Thanks for your fast answer mate.
I formatted and repartitioned the sd card too. But inside the zip, where is the DAF? I didnt find it that is why i flashed clockwork and then flashed the zip with clockwork.
What do you mean with chaning the flash file??
Thanks a lot

Problems after flashing EliteMod Kernel ICS 120704

Hi all,
first of all sorry for posting here and not in the EliteMod Thread. But i have to post 10 times and then ........
After flashing the new kernel i´m missing a lot of apps?!?!?!
No matter how i flash (wipe data/dalvik or wipe nothing) the apps are missing. I use dataswap (64mb) if necessary.
The apps i miss are Titianium Backup, Terminal, Gentle Alarm and so on.
I dont know why this is happens. Until now every new kernel or Elitemod Rom was fine.
I normally flash via 4ext recovery, but same via RomManager.
Any tipps or help??
BTW: I really love the work from Nikr. His EliteMod Rom and tweaks are really the best i´ve seen so long.
thx for help and keep flashing :fingers-crossed:
If you did a full wipe and installed a fresh new Rom then course you're going to be missing apps until you re-install them. Or at the very least install the titanium backup app then running a restore for the apps.
Though with a kernel-only flash (i.e.: that new one the other day) you shouldn't be wiping data/etc to flash it.
Maybe a little more details on your problem?
Hi,
thx for the quick respond.
I downloaded kernel zip and put it on the sdcard. After that boot into recovery and choose install zip from sdcard.
Thats was the normal way for kernels. But if i do this now i miss a lot of apps.
I tried to wipe only dalvik and flash, same result. I tried to wipe dalvik/data and flash, same result.
Only changes till the last rom flash i did, was to pull down the LCD destiny from 240 to 210 via Rom Toolbox.
It wouldn´t be such a big deal, but the apps i miss i also couldn´t find in the market. If i search for Titanium Backup nothing appears. Same for Gentle Alarm and so on.
I flash Roms for over 1 year now, but something like that never happend
the change in dpi will affect some apps as "not avalaible" as the are only able to work with certain densities. maybe change this and see what happens
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Today was a new Kernel Version released and everything is fine now.
Looks like there was a kernel problem with apps on stored on the sd card.
thx for help anyway
