I'm wondering if its posssible to tether a data connection via usb from my tmobile G2 through the full USB port on my thrive, although the G2 has the option for wi-fi tether, id still prefer the option for a hardwired tether for better data send/receive performance. has someone out there done achieved this already? and if so how?

How can I set up wired/wireless tethering from HTC evo?
Are you rooted? If not, you can pay sprint to tether wirelessly, or get PDAnet from the Market to tether via usb.
All the custom ROMs I've tried cracked their built-in tethering abilities... For stock ROMs try using Wireless Tether for Root Users.
My S4 is on it's way and the one thing I think that's better on my old phone is the tethering options. I have an inspire 4G with AOKP 4.2.2 and I use bluetooth tethering for my nexus 7, I also use USB tethering for my laptop. Very rarely do I use Wifi. But I want to know how can I do bluetooth and USB. It's very important that I'm able to do this because I work online and sometimes my internet is less then reliable and have to rely on my phone occasionally. Once I root this mofo, How can I do this? What works what won't work. I'm tempted to do the alteration to wifi tether I saw in another forum using the S4's stock wifi tethering but I'm not sure if I can revert the phone back to normal. I mean if I **** it up can I just flash a stock rom in odin or what?

Hi,
I am struggling with an issue regarding tethering on my nexus 4 stock.
First, I have a plan for tethering with provider.
When I turn on the shared connection via WIFI, I am not able to connect to internet from my device, even if the device is not connected to my PC. If i turn on the shared connection via usb or bluetooth, i can then use itnernet on my phone. It looks like an issue between tethering and wifi.
Other issue is i can not get a bluetooth tethering or even USB. I am stock with this issue for days and was unable to find any answer in the forum.
Your question is not really clear, (or I'm too stupid to get it), because your last sentence contradict the previous one.
Anyway, Tethering allows you to share your Mobile Internet with other WIFI capable devices. This is a quick guide on how to do it. Note that you cannot use the wifi on your phone while tethering, you have to use Bluetooth tethering or USB tethering, if that is the case. Here is a guide from google.
And just out of curiosity which version of android are your phone currently running? Because there was some reported tethering problems on 4.4.2
hey guys I'm a razr m owner.. who often uses his phone on ATT or tmobile.. rather than ver$zon..
So what can I do to tether with it? I assume the native Verizon app doesn't work with tmobile or att..? I'm interested in usb tether and wifi tethering I do plan one of these days to put the phone on "selectel" too which means EVDO.
Try this for USB tether

Hello everyone!
So where I am living I cannot get reliable internet service and currently have Hughesnet (satellite isp) that I want to stray from. I have picked up a prepaid true unlimited data plan from Metropcs and want to use it as my default isp as the speeds are astronomical compared to Hughesnet. They are of course limited in usage for tethering and I would have to use a masking application and have chosen Clockworkmod Tether. What I want to do is run a USB dongle to my router (ASUS RT-N56U), connected to my phone (SAMSUNG-SM-G900A), running Android 5.0 with Clockworkmod Tether. Is this possible to do as the router doesn't have a sister application with the phone i.e Pdanet+ needs a windows application running to work?
All feedback is welcome!
So I found a video that kind of explains how to do so but I still have questions. With the process he is demonstrating the phone is using the wifi hotspot option to broadcast signal to the router. My question is.. with all the tether masking apps (PDAnet, FoxFi, Clockwork) you need to connect via USB to work. How would I get around this?
