Hi all,
I am using Taboonay v1.1 ROM on my Acer Iconia A500. And when I went to some websites,I found they were always in mobile mode. I think it's about the Browser's UserAgent.I have ever seen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=652984
and I have ever rework the file:
/data/data/com.android.browser/shared_prefs/com.android.browser_preferences.xml
but I think it doesn't work. (Maybe I did the above-mentioned step in wrong way)
Can you help me?
And I want to use HTML5 to watch videos. Can I use the Browser with the ROM to do this? Should I change my UserAgent to "IPad"?
P.S.: I'm a Chinese student. Maybe my English has some mistakes. Please accept my apology for the inconvenience this matter have give you.
1. Open the Android Honeycomb browser on your tablet.
2. In the address bar, type: about:debug and press enter.
3. Now open the browser's settings by tapping the icon in the very top-right corner of your screen (it looks like four horizontal lines) and selecting "Settings" from the drop-down menu that appears.
4. On the left side of the screen, tap the section labeled "Debug."
5. On the right side of the screen, tap the item labeled "UAString," then select "Desktop."
6. Press the back button (in the very bottom-left corner of your screen) to exit the browser's settings.
7. In the browser's address bar, type: about:debug once more; this will disable debugging mode and return the browser to its normal state.
Remember to thank me if I have helped you
Thanks for you very much.
It is work now!

Searched but didn't find anything on these two Opera questions:
1. In Opera on my TouchPro, there is a button to close the current tab (just to the right of the location field at the top of the window). On the HD2, I have to go to the tab menu to close a tab. What happened to the close tab button? I found it much more convenient...
2. The "big scroll bar" (I don't know what it's actually called, but the large button that pops up in certain applications to allow you to easily grab and drag the scroll bar with your finger) doesn't pop up in Opera. So if I'm at the end of a very long web page, I have to swipe 20 times to get back to the top since I can't "grab" the scroll bar with my finger. Is this how it works for everyone?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I would like to know that, too.
The first one, I think, is a change from Opera 9.5 to 9.7.
A scrollbar would be nice!
Another annoying bug in Opera is whenever there is a Drop-down menu on a webpage with over 20+ options to select from there is no way to scroll within the drop-down menu.
To give an e.g. visit fring.com and from Download click the drop-down menu for Country or Brand... there is no way to scroll down or up. The entire page starts scrolling but specifically the menu portion doesn't.
This works very well on IE6.

1. if you click on the tab button (middle button), you get the option to close the tab.
2. scrolling works very fast for me
i want to know the solution for question 2 too! it is very annoying to swipe many times to the bottom!

Yes, but that's two taps - what I miss is the "close tab" button that was right there in the browser window.

Apparently this is not a high-priority issue for xda'ers... no love so far...
Is the big pop-out scroll button HTCScroll or is it part of WM6.5? Wondering if there is a registry tweak to enable it for certain applications.
having just checked through the opera preferences editor there's no options for either of these, shame....

Zoom the area where the scroll bar is in the drop down menu.
Just single tap and hold over the scroll bar for 2-3 seconds. Don't take your hand away. Slide your finger now and it will scroll the menu instead of the opera window as a whole.
Don't scream at me!
I have searched, but I can't seem to find this anywhere?
On my HTC Desire, when I have the default browser open and press menu and choose more, the top item is Home
On the SGS, under default browser settings, I have set my Home Page no problem, but when I choose menu and more, there is no "Home" option on the list?
As far as i can see, you press Menu button (while in browser) then New Window but it keeps the old window open as well so you need to close that with the 'Windows' button (in Menu)
I've only had mine a few days so there may be a quicker way but that does work
Thanks for that stickfinger
I had been doing the same and assumed I was missing something really obvious, but it appears not??
Guide to create GPSSetup2 shortcut on the homescreen. First you'll have to download and install the homescreen and launcher replacement LauncherPro (Attached, link at the bottom). Then, follow these steps.
1. Press the center key on the phone. You'll get two options on the screen: 'LauncherPro' and 'TwLauncher'. Select LauncherPro. Let LauncherPro load.
2. Now again press the center key and this time select TwLauncher.
3. After it loads, press and hold your finger on an empty spot on the screen.
4. In the list that pops out, select Shortcuts.
5. Then select Activities.
6. After a few seconds you'll get a long list of Applications. Scroll down to GPSSetup2. Touch GPSSetup2, it'll expand to show more options. From this expanded list, select the first option i.e GPSSetup2 (com.sec.android.app.GPSSetup2.GpsSetup).
7. That's it. You'll now have a shortcut to GpsSetup2 on the homescreen.
8. After this is done, simply go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and uninstall Launcher Pro if you don't want to use it.
9. If you do want to use it, press the center key, tick 'Use by default for this action', then press 'LauncherPro' (Much better than the Samsung Launcher and homescreen, except for the less colorful icons).
That's it. No need to enter that long code anymore to enter GPSSetup2 everytime..
Alternate Method: (By stubborn_d0nkey)
1. Download and install any cut (only 31 kb) from the market
2. Long press on a home screenc
3. Choose shortcuts->any cut->activity
4. scroll down to gpssetup2 and click on it
5. Click ok (change the name if you want to)
6. there ya go
if you wish you can uninstall (settings->applications->manage applications-> any cut and press unistall) and the shortcut will stay.
but it is only 31kb and it might be useful sometime in the future

I'm using activities in LaunchPro - that's very usefull also for switching APNs (exchange/google) but I haven't found any manual for gpsSetup2 (what each option is good for)

GPSSetup as (favorite) contact
Why not just set the USSN Code of GPSSetup as phone contact?
Type the numbers, save them once and "call" them any time you need GPS. So theres no need to install additional apps

Yeah, you are right, but there are more steps involved in selecting the saved contact and then calling to run it, unless you have a widget to store a direct link to call the contact on the homescreen. Creating the shortcut, although more complicated at first, is a much faster way later to access it.
So I successfully rooted my Nook Color now, and installed the Market. However, very few apps appear in it, and I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the entire Android Market.
I'm running 1.2.
Thank you.
Have you done the old standby to stop/restart Framework/Google, etc. and reload?
In case you don't know what I mean:
Start Nook Color Tools.
Select the “All Settings” button.
Unplug your NOOKcolor from computer. (If Plugged in.)
Choose “Manage Applications” from the list.
Select the “All” tab.
Scroll down to “Market” and select it.
Tap “Force stop”.
Tap “Clear cache”.
Tap the Back button if you have SoftKeys running, else swipe right to left on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (from the clock to the book icon).
Scroll up to “Google Services Framework” and select it.
Tap “Clear data”.
Tap “OK”.
Tap “Force stop”.
Press the n button to return to your launcher.
Start Market.
At the “An error has occurred” message, tap “OK”.
Hold your power button to turn off your NOOK Color from the menu.
Turn your NOOK Color back on and give it a moment to find your WiFi connection.
Start Market again, and the problem is resolved.
I tried that but it didnt work. Can anyone help?
What do you mean by "unlock"?
You said "very few apps in it", what exactly do you mean?
Only few apps displayed on the NC?
Did you log in (set up) your google account?
Did you search apps by tap on the little magnifier in the upper right corner?
did you try turning the nook sideways?
It's kinda sad the OP hasn't replied in 5 days.
Yea, if you follow the instructions skeeterpro said EXACTLY, it should work perfect. I had some random issues so I had to return to stock a few times and re-root and go thru the process, and every time it fixed it. So many the OP needs to make sure he did EVERY single step, exactly, without deviation.
Accidentally cleared data instead of cache, sorry guys, thanks.
So many people that regularly troll the popular android sites (droid-life, etc) may have seen the news about Moto dropping the ball on warranties. Well, to make it short - I paid for an advanced exchanged, received my new phone after some complaining for a long wait. They sent me a 64gig bamboo version instead of my basic white 32 version. SCORE!! Right?? No - I go to boot it up and I am getting the "this device has been reset. To continue - - - yada yada". Basically they did a factory reset after replacing a broken screen I suppose locking the phone in that anti theft mode.
Is there any type of rooting or flashing that I can do to bypass this? I really wanna keep this BETTER phone. They are asking me to send it back and they'll send me a new (32gb basic white) moto x pure.
thanks in advance
