I've just recently started running ConnectBot and due to its all-black screen I was able to notice that the right ege of the screen is way brighter than the rest of the it, specially in bottom right corner.
Has anyone noticed something similar in their Transformer? it is also noticeable in the Gallery, so no need to install ConnectBot.
Should I return it?
Thanks in advance.

this is infamously called light bleed. It's very common on the Transformer since it has an IPS style screen. If it's bad, I'd consider returning it. But if you don't mind, it's just a minor defect.
Search the Forums for lightbleed too!
I wasn't aware of that terminology.
Thanks for your help on this subject. I'll search for lightbleed in the forum to get more info on this.

As the subjects states, is there a registry edit that will move the scroll bar from the right hand side of the screen to the left? Being left handed, it is quite a pain to cover the screen with my hand when scrolling.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Bump - Anyone? Any ideas?
This is a possible deal breaker for me.
I think I just saw this feature in 8125. You could change the layout so that the scroll bar is on the left side and not right.
Check Display...
I've got two ideas - not exactly what you want, but hopefully better. One should work. One should be very very cool. But time frame is some way off - I'm working on one or two urgent things first. I apologise
But I'll be working on this once I clear my decks a little.

Thanks for your assistance. The 8125 does have a "Left Hand" mode, but only for Landscape. Since I use my 8125 90% of the time in portrait, it makes it very difficult for web browsing and scrolling email.
Thanks everyone for your help. I look forward to any ideas that you come up with (anything will be better)
General question: do you guys use your scrollbar with a stylus or thumb?
V
Thumb. Mostly because my stylus falls out if i put one in, so I just dont even bring one with me anymore.
Stylus
I ask because at some point I'm considering a third party solution to the problem, and I need to think about how big to make it graphically.
Evidently both thumb and stylus need to be considered.
V
Yeah, I gotta imagine there are alot of other Lefty's out there like myself that are running into the same issue. A 3rd party application sounds like it would be very useful.
everybody,i meet a problem.when i look at the HD screen carefully in a very near distance(about 5cm),I can find some special pots in the screen.they can be found in different place depended on the different angle of view.but these pots could be disappeared if i change the angle of view a little. And when i look at the screen in a normal distance(such as 15cm),i can't find any special pots, all are good.Someone tell me it is normal, the pots i found is the pots in touchscreen. But I don't know they right or wrong, can anyone help me?
By the way ,even i close the phone,i also can find many pots below the screen sometimes.
does anyone have the same problem?
Are the 'pots' spaced at regular intevals?
I can only assume you are referring to dots that are used by the touch screen sensors. These are spaced at regular intervals (like squares) right across the screen and are perfectly normal

thanks, the dots are spaced at regular intervals really.yesterday i checked the touch pro and aslo found them in the screen. But the dots in HD are more obvious than in pro.
it's just called paranoia.
Don't worry much about it, if it prevents you from using your device then you should be worried.
is there an app or a tool that I can use to see how "responsive" my screen is? I just want to see if I have the "improperly grounded" issue

if you haven't noticed a problem, then there either isn't one, or it doesn't affect you. it's when you go looking for problems that you find them. just leave well enough alone!
Ok, but how do you test? Ive seen apps where u can draw lines and stuff but I can't find anything on the market. What is a good app?

The grounding issue can be seen when you put the phone down on a surface ( non conducive) and try to operate the phone. Mine is most severe on the upper half of the screen, like when sliding the top bar down. Then touch the back cover and try it again.

Yeah, I only know it when I'm trying to slide the notification bar down when it is lying on the couch or something. The rest of the screen is fine.
Putting it down flat and trying to pull the top bar down I would say is the easiest way. I have problems with it
Sent from my EVO 4G suckas!
The app Multitouch Visible Test in the Market will let you see up to 2 touch points on the screen. I use it for everything I test with.
Man, I tested a demo set and the pen was SERIOUSLY off. Whatever I wrote was like a 2-3 pixels off. The only thing the staff could tell me was to send the set for repair if I ever got this issue. They quickly removed the demo set after I showed them the problem. I am pretty sure Samsung is not going to replace the WHOLE screen just for this issue, anyone discovered anything yet?
i have the same problem.
i cant write with this poor precision...
need to recalibrate the s-pen... or the screen, i dont know...
Me to... i hope there is such a thing because if i zoom in a screenshot and draw something the offset is over 3 mm for me
Have none of you realized that this is intentional as a result of left and right hand mode so that you can see the line you are drawing? its not a calibration issue at all.
maybe...
but it's stupid.
i want a perfect precision, not at 2-3mm....

As was mentioned above and in another thread all Wacom tablets/pens behave this way so that you can see what you are drawing, not just the note. It takes some getting used to but after a bit of practice it'll become second nature to you, just like the first few times you use a keyboard in your life and you have to search all over for half a minute for a single key
All that said I would like more options exposed for the pen/digitizer just like you get with a Wacom tablet such as tip feel and tilt sensitivity and calibration. Perhaps we should all send Samsung an email requesting a settings app for the pen, and/or ask Wacom if they intend to build an app for their pens for Android since they might appear on more that just Samsung devices now.
Or maybe we'll have to wait for ICS for proper pen settings. Then again someone crafty on XDA might manage it.
I use a lenovo x220T tablet PC with a wacom. On the computer, it will show a little dot wherever you are hovering over the screen. This dot makes a 1-2 mm offset easily usable. Does the galaxy note have this little dot when you are hovering over the screen? If it doesn't, that's the problem...
Maybe once the SDK is out we can create an application to make this dot visible.

Haven't seen the hovering dot for pen in apps I've tried so far
I also use a x220t and wish the calibration capability was available on the Note.
have you noticed that you can switch the screen from switching off by keeping the stylus about half a cm from the screen.. the stylus seems to have a method of interacting with the note without touching..
I found out that i have a little bubble at the upper right side of the Home Button....is there anybody with something similar ?
It became quite annoying as i tend to look at it instantly when i use the phone..
Don't look at the screen shield, i removed is just to check then i managed to reinstall it but it's way too far from perfect...
is it under the screen protector or actually under the screen?

It looks to me as you have a screenprotector applied, look in the bottom right screen corner where its cut. Never seen or heard of bubbles in a glas screen itself
