I was on greyblur then gingerblur now unlocked rooted and running kenn's "safest way" sbf 2.3.4 (4.5.91). Fingerprint scanner stopped working somewhere during gingerblur I think? It will work every once in a while but I have to swipe harder than I originally had to when I got it. Love the scanner just want it back. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Quick note, I was rooted but just unrooted and started clean last night. I'm currently on .340, I flashed the FULL SBF last night.
Anyways. I keep seeing all these Blur 3.4.2 threads out there and it's sad to say, but I'm still not sure what it is? Can someone please elaborate to me in detail what Blur 3.4.2 is. Is Blur 3.4.2 a ROM, just a new build, an update to .340, etc.? I'm confused on what it is. I do have the TBH app that has this so I can download it if needed. I'm just curious to know what the whole deal about this is and if its worth updating to this?
Thank you,
BUD
hi, i noticed 3.4.2 as well and I tried it out. At that point it was unrootable, but it can be rooted with superoneclick now. Basically it was blur similar to that of the droid pro, with profiles and everything. I found it laggy and not as efficient as others (and don't use the motorola home launcher) so it didn't seem worth the upgrade from 3.4.0. I sbf'ed back to 3.4.0 to install apex back on the droid x. hope that helps!
UPDATED SUBJECT, SORRY I HAD A BRAINFART
I thought I read somewhere that either devs or users were still running out of the box stock grj06d and that they might be experiencing better online speeds. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I just downloaded buglesspete's rooted roms last night and an curious if anyone has done that already.
I'm about 99% sure that the ns4g is only compatible with 2.3.4 since that is when the aosp code for it was added in.
Hmm. I do remember there being an update immediately after activating it. I was assuming the update was 2.3.4. Sorry, I got grj22 confused with something else.
Out of the box the 4G had 2.3.4, before the update.
There's another update, currently in testing, that seems to involve a prerelease radio firmware. That's probably what you heard about.
I just flashed 06 and it seems okay. I'm still at work so no time yet to test. I gotta tell buglesspete I think his grj06 rooted really isn't rooted.
SO I was using widgetlocker with the easy wake function to use trackball to wake my desire z, (stock 2.2 rom)
Now I upgraded to the offical 2.3 rom via update and widgetlocker easy wake no longer works
Any ideas how to get trackball unlock working on the new 2.3???

page 3 or 4 has the link.
that'd be for rooted phones running that particular rom though.
I am using the official latest release update of 2.3 direct from HTC, not rooted and I dont believe it can be rooted yet
Hey guys,
I was wondering about the fingerprint lock feature. Recently I got the atrix and I tried setting it up but it won't read any of the swipes over the scanner. Is it broken or is it because the phone is running GB 2.3.6? I'm wondering if anyone else has a similar problem.
Cheers, worldindo1.

Factory reset - if that doesn't solve the problem your reader might be broken. For me that always worked.

^ Yes you can just factory reset/data your phone from the Settings or from the Recovery
If it still doesn't work, you could try flashing custom roms. Back when I was in Stock 2.3.6, I came across with this problem too, factorized and all went well. After a week, the sensor won't read my swipes. So I flashed specifically Neutrino Rom and works well.
hey man, I had this problem too, factory reset or unlock your bootloader and enjoy the best custom roms available.
I have very strange problem. I had in my hands two S5 and I decided to sell mine and keep the other because it was newer. So I decided to root the other the same way I did mine and install the same Rom. Everything goes fine but on the other Fingerprint scanner doesn't work, however it is functional because on the other Rom it works. The only difference between devices was that mine was rooted on 4.2 and this one on 5.0. Maybe that's why. Otherwise I.have no clue what to do. I guess stick with my old S5.
If you are using a stock based rom rooting should not effect fingerprint scanner.

Are you rooted on a stock firmware? We need more details as to how you configured your device after rooting. Fingerprint scanner shouldn't be affected as long as you're using a TouchWiz-based ROM or a stock firmware which is rooted.

So here is update. Basically only one Rom doesn't have the fingerprint working. It is XStore Rom. I can't figure out why on the other S5 it works, however on this that I want to keep it doesn't work. So far I've tried multiple other TouchWiz ROms and on all of them the scanner works. I would stop here but I got used to XStore Rom and would like to keep it. I think I should ask on the Rom forum, however it is closed since developer probably left.

It must be the problem with the previous firmware that the Android OS is 5.0. As the firmware upgrades, the bootloader upgrades too and O don't know the rom you tried to install but if there is a major update gap (like 4.x to 5.x), the bootloader doesn't match so that fingerprint does not work. I heard that fingerprint function is concerned with bootloader from the Darthrom dev.

You mean XtreStoLite? It is super debloated so you have to flash the fingerprint scanner flashable zip to make it work.
