DO'NT
unless you realy need to do not use giffgaff,if you can stick with 3uk,giffgaff is a cheapo puff service run as a spoiler by o2 to try and remove support from 3uk,so that WE ALL loose the only almost independant provider in uk,3uk have already said they would close down in uk if auction for spectrum is f*cked about again, well anyone know when its going ahead ? no,me neither.
if giffgaff/02 can leech more 3 users away then even more chance that 3 will close down in uk..
leaving US ALL with a choice of / everything everwhere(0range-t-mobile)
O2
vodafone
that will be it,a choice of three,or even less than when idiot money grubbing politicos started ball rolling on making them selves rich by bringing MORE providers 15 years ago supposedly to inject competion, all it does is spread same pot thinner all round.
and we just know what will happen with tariffs and bundles, how many tariffs would you guess that the three of them would provide and of course they wll not use market limitations to push up prices faster same as with gas, electric etc,all trying to sell you EXACTLY the same product(a kwh of leccy is a kwh of leccy wether its come from solar panels, wave power,or the dirtiest old coal plant, they all pay same price to generators (within 3%,look it up) yet there are how many tariffs for leccy in uk ?(answer 4500+)all for EXCACTLY the same thing..a gb of data is a gb of data so why so much difference ?
rant finished, the giffgaff O2 network round here (watford) is hardly any better than 3,and if you stick by gg terms and conditions it actualy works out 50% MORE than same on 3.
so unless you realy have no choice do not use giffgaff, you would just be heping to slit our own throats again.

Wow
What the F**K are you on about?
I'm sorry, but 3 used to be worse than One-to-One (if anyone remembers them) for network coverage and service. Yeah, they're getting better these days, but so many people have 3 dongles around here that data is ridiculously slow. So why shouldn't I pick who the hell I want? What the hell does it have to do with 3 leaving the UK in a GG thread?

because if too many folk leave 3 then they have even less reason to stay in the uk after they get stiched up in spectrum auction,if/when it ever happens, then there were three, thats it for so called competion, you realy think O2 and other big boys will keep giffcrap and similar market spoilers open
after 3 leave uk,like you realy got great choice of leccy tariffs, they all charge what they can get away with
with ripping us of cos gov politicos let them.answer your question as why no to giffcrap ?

if you cannot understand the idea of less companies = higher prices.i suggest you send your bank account details to your network provider,it will make it easier for them to rob you later on..
its a very simple idea, competition, even most politicians can grasp it,but i suppose there are plenty of people out there who cant.

Well this is lame.

At the time I bought my HTC Touch Diamond 2, the HTC Pure was $200 with contract. Five days later, this ad appears on Fry's. Today, this appears.

Now in the interest of keeping this post from becoming somewhat meaningless with dead links; mirror the ad image because that site does purging of old content and restate the contents of the second link for when the price changes in the future.

Ha tell me about it. I wish my family had stayed in Greece. Europes got the whole mobile scene locked down perfectly.
Here it's you can only buy these phones and only use them on this carrier. It so retarded. A lot more freedom of choice in EU. Although carriers in Greece sell phones for way to much. The TD2 was going for $599 Euro on Wind over the summer.
Thank god for GSM and unlocked phones or I would die of having the worst in mobile tech.

Unfortunately, there's a return "processing fee" of $35 per line x four lines = too much to return.

Check out this Sprint HTC Supersonic

HTC 'Supersonic' to ring in WiMAX on Sprint, Android-style
By Chris Ziegler posted Jan 17th 2010 10:51PM
Exclusive
Remember that mysterious HTC A9292 with WiMAX rumored for Sprint a few days back? Well, take a seat, folks -- we think we've got the lowdown on it here from a trusted source, and it's a bit of a monster:
* Codename is "Supersonic" -- a name we've heard at least once before.
* Feels a lot like you'd expect an Android-powered HD2 to feel thanks to a 4.3-inch non-AMOLED display and a svelte shell. (For reference, the HD2 is 11mm thick, but we don't have exact dimensions here.)
* It's got a kickstand on the back. This wouldn't be a first for HTC; the Imagio on Verizon has one, for example.
* Runs Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI.
* Our tipster saw it in white; production devices could be available in different colors, of course, but white seems like it'd be an intriguing choice for a phone of the HD2's size and shape.
* The phone's software stack is buggy enough right now to suggest that we're not looking at a release any time soon, but we don't have details on the projected launch window.
* It's fast -- Snapdragon fast, it seems, though our tipster can't confirm the processor under the hood.
We know 2010's just begun, but between all this noise and the promise of a legitimate 4G radio on board, let's be real -- we're already looking at a very, very early contender for smartphone of the year. Let's not run into any major roadblocks between here and retail, alright, guys?

Tethering on that bad boy will be awesome! Then when I head upstate I can still fall back on VZW's 1x roaming. LOL! Seriously, I love sprints 1 yr upgrades. Can't wait!
exactly im loving the fact that i can upgrade in 1 yr now... hopefully this phone will be coming out as my upgrade approaches...
illl buy it right now! if it works with sprint then sell my hero later.. or give it to my brother..
Hmm, Just joined Sprint in Oct and started a family plan. What is this 1 year upgrade?
sprint offers its preimer members 1yr upgrades instead of waiting the full two years, i dont know what qualifes you to be a member but i know i am, i would just call and ask if you could join or if you are one already

I've gotten the bill on time for three months, but what's the S|P program?
its the sprint premier customer.
it makes you eligible for upgrades once every 12 months and you get 25% off all accessories.
you have to have an individual line plan for more than 70$ a month or a family plan totaling more than 100$ a month, pay your bills on time and sometimes jsut be with sprint for awhile.

Either you have to be with Sprint for 10 years or get a plan that starts somewhere around $75-$100/year and wait three months.
I don't suppose there is any word on if it will have 802.16m instead of 802.16e.
I look forward to seeing reviews of this phone. Even on 3G, this phone will be a beast compared to the Hero/Moment. I have my upgrade coming in October, but will see how 2.1 performs on my Hero when it is released.
A beast in more ways than one - it's going to be humongous.

Very true. I hope the Sprint Nexus One rumors are true. I don't know if I'd want a phone larger than that in my pocket. Although, the lure of a 4.3" screen is inticing
I looked at a comp video of SS to iPhone... not that much bigger. When it drops, I'll hit the Sprint store and see if I like the feel of it in my hand. I can always get a holster or something if I don't want it in my pocket all the time. Lol.
I'll wait til it's rooted, but should be eligable in november.
Might wait til it's rooted. But with the Snapdragon, everything should be super snappy from jump. I'll check the reviews vids and play with it in-store before making my final decision, though.

Really HTC/Sprint??

So I am sitting here with $500 burning a hole in my pocket and nobody on the planet (except the extortionists at ebay) will trade me my money for a new Evo!
Was it really such a shock that the Evo would sell so well or did HTC/Sprint just not care and run their usual production line anyway? It seems like they are losing money as well by falling behind on inventory, so maybe it was a surprise!

So...are you saying that HTC/Sprint purposely limited how many Evos they made the first time around because they knew there were problems?
My argument is not so much that I don't have an Evo, it is more about how few were produced by the release date compared to the demand.

This is very similar to the HTC Incredible through Verizon. It sounds like they just didn't have the production capabilities to fill the needs of two very hot devices. I wouldn't blame it on either Sprint or Verizon, as I'm sure all of them would have been happy to churn customers from other providers to sell new lines.
In the WA state area, they were next to impossible to find within the first month of release. I'd ended up returning the pair I got with my now ex-wife.
I was pretty lucky in getting one less than a week ago from Sprint in Bellevue, WA.

Same thing happened when the HTC Desire first came out. Both carriers and companies that sold unlocked phones were S.O.L. because they ran out of inventory sooner then they had expected.
Sucks dishing out $500+ and being told..."Sorry we are out of stock and you are now #??? and we promise to get you your phone ASAP!"

I have no issued with my Evo. No screen speeration, my screen is properly grounded and I got it at Best Buy.
When you think about it from a business viewpoint. If you release your phone a month prior to your biggest competition who you KNOW will sell out, due to the major changes in the component of the iPhone. Would you rather have your stock during initial release and flood the market? OR would you rather trickle your product into the market and have plenty on hand when your competition is struggling to fill orders?
Bottom line. Find a Sprint Store that handles repairs, they sell a higher volume then regular stores. Get on the waiting list and wait. It sucks, but it is SO worth it. I did and I got my phone surprisingly faster then I expected. I have had it for a full week now and love it.
We don't know exactly WHY Sprint has such a shortage, it COULD be just incompetence but I haven't been with sprint long enough to know. But I do know this phone was worth waiting for.
dam didnt know they would do that!

I'm rooted and do use wifi tether from time to time. But only when what ever it is I'm doing can't be done on my eVo.
I mean 49GB in 2 days is just plain abuse. That's 3.5GB's a day... thats a serious amount of data.
Last month I used just under 3GB's of 3g data for my whole billing cycle. I did use over 40GB's of data over wifi. And I consider myself a power user, big time. I use my eVo for everything, from sending and receiving pictures through mms(I'm a chef and always sending/receiving pics to/from other chefs to try and one up one another), writing and editing daily special menus and regular menus to doing all of my daily cost control spread sheets. Not to mention going online to find at pricing and availability on products I use or need.
Trust me m8, more than likely you have Sprints attention. Keep us up to date on any emails or phone calls you get... Good Luck!!!!

You speak as if Sprint has no idea wat ur doing... u just posted ur usage stats directly from ur account from Sprint's website. Remember karma does not have favorites or exceptions so don't be surprised when Sprint cuts u off like Lorena Bobbit did to her hubby's man-parts. Then we will see a noticeable increase in data speeds since leeches like u r forcefully removed from the network.
Good job. Expect a letter soon.

Yea some torrents. And @ the other haters, I can't afford Comcast and I think my Sprint bill is a little high. So yeah, instead of paying for both, I cancelled Comcast and use Sprint as my only ISP. So of course the usage is high, who gives a ****, if I'm paying for it. Check your usage at home and tell me it isn't high. And "getting a letter from Sprint", this has been my average usage for the past 7 months, so I doubt it.

I like the little ticks though thats cool I just thought it meant when the message is sent.. not when they receive it?

However I have heard of many people getting charged so I don't doubt it. Strange
that's why i'm a bit wary about some custom roms at the moment. because when you try to access the message app settings on some roms, the app crashes. not cool. but i help zerojay fix it in his

if you click the menu button while on the main menu of the messaging app (where you see all the conversations), there will be a tick box for delivery reports. i think they may have set it to off by default on the 2.3.4 update
When my Vodafone contract runs out, i will stop it and use Giff Gaff only.
I ordered a free GiffGaff simcard last month and topped up with £10.
Im now over 50 gigs of data downloaded on my phone in just over 20 days.
I leave loads of torrents going while i am at work ON MY PHONE !!!!!!!!
I dont believe anything in the World, let alone the UK touches GiffGaff for being the best deal ever.
Just thought id share that information
Crap, I never call or send SMS they're my guys. It's a pity that I live in the Spanish Wild West where robber carriers act shamelessly ripping off us all.

Good idea mate, tell everyone that. Then when everyone chooses GiffGaff and start downloading 50+ GB every month, that's when fair usage policies and limits will be imposed... All of a sudden, it won't be such a good deal any more!

Is Giff Gaff losing money with every new customer? If it is, what you say is true. If they're yielding a profit with every new customer, and they probably are, why should he not advertise that we must no longer be scammed by carriers and unfair use policies?
It is never in the interest of people to have information withheld from them.
OK I was wrong. Having turned on delivery reports, they are showing on my Orange bill at 0.009p per report. I've turned them off.. I just use Whatsapp now anyways
I use whatsapp a lot more now too, it does everything!! And using that I don't get charged the 25p to send a media message!!
I'm glad me finding this out has helped everyone!!
