[Q]Calls dropping and dial tone sound? - Epic 4G General

I'm running the Deodexed EF02 ROM and every coulple days I'm on a call and it drops and the dial tone sound immediately follows.
Anybody else having this issue or know why I'm having it?

Try a new modem. Remember, gingerbread builds are leaks, they arnt ready in the long run. If you want reliability, go for sfr 1.2

Why is this in development and general? Just like the above person said its probably the modem. Dk28 used to be the same way when we were on that froyo leak.

This is in development AND general because it has something to do with both categories.

Just search the forums, theres numerous guides on how to do it.

My opinion for myself is that this isn't the final. I don't know for a fact and I can't prove my stance. The only thing I have to go on is how much of an improvement my previous two android phones had when going from 1.5 to 2.1 on one and 2.1 to 2.2 on the other. My opinion from my experience with trying it (2.2) three times is that performance and app wise, it seems like a step backwards. Bells and whistles are nice but I prefer stability and speed (is that an oxymoron?).
Just noticed this release has a new bug on the stock browser. It tends to hang and zooms in and gets stuck zooming in and out making web button selections non functioning.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
DK28 is definitely not final. Sprint confirmed that DK28 is yet another beta.

Am I the only one who likes everything about 2.1 better?

2.2 just seems....unpolished? Tons of little annoyances, choppy browser even on non flash pages, etc. I don't know...I'm just not feeling it.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Not feeling a very beta build that barely made it to any testers?
Can't imagine why you wouldn't be feeling it.
It's not a finalized version. There are bugs and such because its a leak. Its more then likely a leak of a beta version of 2.2
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Oh I didn't know that. Sorry to offend anyone, I thought it was final.

beta and all, i still think dl30 is pretty decent and have no desire to go back to 2.1

The DL30 leak is great, yes a bit buggy at times, but I also have no to desire to even think about 2.1 again. So happy to have some of the little features I've been missing. I was just about to give up on my fascinate, but the same day I was talkin to a buddy at work the leak came out. I was seriously sittin at work b!tchen about not have 2.2 and check on here and BAMMM.. there it was. I had 2.2 loaded on my phone faster then you could blink! lol
I like it so far

Push Facebook notifications ftw.
Finally, I don't have to carry my old Eris around to have Froyo in my pocket.
Samsung sucks at satisfying our software desires.

Well, no.
Dry sarcasm on here? Never.
Only bug I've really notice so far is that my comcast email doesn't come through. I get the email notification but it doesn't show anything. Other than I love it. Works well with the ea28 baseband.

How'd you get the ea28 baseband?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I'm having zero problems with Froyo. Everything works well and I haven't hit any snags. So long Eclair. Thanks for the memories.
Now where's Gingerbread? Lol.

EA28 is the latest eclair build for our phones pushed by vzw. It was to fix the emergency call issue while having a lock pattern set.

Ec05 further development

Are any devs working on cooking up more ec05 roms? Reason being is tht I feel like we are never going 2 see a official GB rom anytime soon with the way samsung Bull sh*ts everyone. I feel we should have a ec05 rom with everything completely loaded on it with the lastest tweaks an mods. A ec05 rom thts bascially on steroids lol with everything we can possibly get on it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Ec05 is pretty much maxxed out in terms of tweaks, however I still don't see an ec05 rom with the v6 supercharger script bakes in yet *hint hint era*
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
Isn't that what srf 1.2 is? I'm sure 1.3 will be the ultimate finale once its done.
Btw does anyone have scroll stuttering issues on xda pro app?

From what I see, v6 supercharger is exactly like autokiller from the market (The memory optimizer, not an actual task killer).

How about the top devs get together to make one last truly great Froyo ROM like the EVO devs did with Synergy. I can think of aspects from 3 different ROMs that would be great together

Elaborate, O tester of Roms.
Cd's or tapes?
I hear what you're selling Mr. Corleone, but that's just because I know your jumping skills. When he describes it, they're all incomplete in ways that the other has figured it out.

Oh, I don't feel that way at all. I think most of them are well put together but each has its own special quality. As far as us never getting Gingerbread...I guess these leaks are for no reason right? Lol

Best stock rom

Hello everyone I'm gonna start out by saying I'm only asking this because I'm from the gs4g and my dad has the vibrant and wants a rom on it. Ok so what I'm asking is what's the smoothest fastest stock touchwiz rom for this phone
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
Sorry mods I just saw that sticky
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
Well.. "stock"...... ehhhhhhhh
If you want custom roms, theres a lot, and i'm guessing your dad won't be interested in updating the rom once in a while, so i'd say try Bionix, or Toxic, both are Touchwiz (ithink) and give great battery life, however they are pretty old, so there hasnt been any updates and they are not the latest firmware in the Android saga
+1 on those. I am pretty much supporting Toxic8 and a few of us are picking apart Deranged9, both 2.2's. Fishman has a Bionix redux that he has put together and tweaked. Very worthwhile.
Since I am sure your dad isn't going to maintain the ROM like we do, these are all solid builds with working GPS and 911.
Best stock and rom do not belong in the same sentence. I don't know of a stock rom that is any better than half of the dev roms out there.
Ok thanks guys I'll have to try those out for him and see what he likes

I've been using toxic 8 for a while but project v was great too, probably the closest you'll get.
If you are in vibrant just flash neobuddy ICS passion. This is ultimate

Go with a 2.2 rom like most have said. They are the most stable AND are able to dial 911 in any situation. Reason #2 would be the biggest factor if I were doing this for my parents. I'd feel absolutely terrible if my parents were in any emergency and couldn't dial 911.

Got a refurb Epic on EL30 - LOVING IT!

Okay, I had to buy a refurb Epic and EL30 is snappy. For example, the applications populate instantly when I choose Manage Applications. GPS actually works too. It's very polished and refined. This will definitely hold me over until the SGS3 releases later this year.
Fyi- I paid $162 from Ebay. The phone looks absolutely brand new.
I thought so too. But then I started missing all of the goodies from CM7.

EL30 seemed buggy to me. I had to run a different kernel to stop the reboots. Back on cm7 now, and anxiously waiting for cm9!!

I have yet to have a freeze or reboot crop up on EL30.
I rooted to remove bloatware, and applied the wifi hotspot hack.

What ROM did you flash? I was just using the odexed EL30 and the reboots were bad. I haven't seen any el30 ROMs. Seems like everyone is still using EI22.

There are a couple el30 custom roms out... sleeper and hoffmans "long way to go" (not officially named yet). And no random reboots here on stock el30 or the custom el30 roms....

I'm on the stock + rooted + deodexed with the clean gingerbread with slight mods kernel. I'm driving, so I can't provide links to the individual posts where I got each thing.
My GPS on Froyo was good, On GB leak it was bad, on GB official its Bad as well. On CM7 its still bad, with several GPS Fixes it doesn't fix anything Argggg.
Wish i knew what the cause for this is, on the official release of GB for HTC devices GPS is flawless. But mine it stutters and laggs never consistent.

Oh, I only do clean slate installs starting from EC05. I was surprised with the reboots since they really didn't change much from EI to EL. My fiance had the same issues with hers.
