Wondering if anyone has a solid gingerbread rom out there they could recommend to me for install? Hopefully something that doesn't kill my battery too fast.. I have a vibrant and would be willing to test it out even. Let me know...thanks!

None of the Gingerbread ROM's are stable yet. They still have a lot of bugs and battery life isn't where it should be.
I downloaded Atriarc last night and it seems pretty darn stable to me. I was running the Overstock kernel without issue until this morning when my flashing addiction flared up and I decided to try the Tiger Blood kernel. That ran fine for about an hour and then started soft rebooting constantly. I just flashed back to Atriarc and all is well. I have to say I've had exchange issues with email up until this rom, none now.
Atriarc isn't a gingerbread rom.
I just installed Whitehawkx's Gingerbread beta 3. So far it seems like I can use it as a daily driver. Some small issues, of course, but overall good.
White's is better than CM7 for now, better battery life and overall more stable.
Trigger, Atriarc, SweetHoney are my favs besides CM7
CM7 is amazing if you know how to customize it.
I get 14+ hours of battery life on it, not too bad, considering I get home before that and could just charge it.
It's very snappy and oh, no touchwiz, ftmfw.
Sure, GPS doesn't work, but who cares? Mapquest that ****.
Data seems to work fine.
I dun know, but for me, it's a great ROM and it's worth it.

I agree.
I'm running cm7 nightly from the 12th and after messing with it i'm pretty content. I know everyone's opinion of smooth is hugely subjective but please believe me when I say that I have mine running as smooth as the seemingly accelerated Touchwiz roms. I'm one for smooth transitions and scrolling and this so far is keeping me content.

Eugene's Gingerbread clone R2 final
Hi, I'm on CM7 and it's great. It's very snapy and the web brouser is the fastest of any rom I have tested. I don't see why people say the GPS does not work. It's never worked as well as it's working now. The lock on the GPS is very fast and very good. The compas works aswell but it does not point to north. There are a fiew games that FC on CM7 but most of them do work well. I would say that it is now very close to being a daily use rom and I'm running it on an I9000m with 850mh radio working perfectly. I just added flash 10.2 and it works very fast aswell.
We've been getting so many GB roms this month! It's amazing, don't you think we're close to a fully functional ROM thats GB with good battery life, GPS (im kind of thinking i shouldn't have put GPS)
but i think its right around the corner! what about you guys?
I mean if you look at our Dev section on Page 1, there probably about 5+ GB roms...
We'll have it soon!
Won't try any of those without GPS

It's in the works. Cmenard has fixed rainbows (proof). (He's a frackin' beast). White has all his magic done on it. I'm the only failure! I can't get the damn GPS to work.
So yeah, that's all we're missing. Vibrant uses a different GPS binary to communicate with the hardware versus other phones like I9K and Cappy (we're the ONLY phone that does this, BS right?). I've been working with cmenard to even build a custom kernel to call that binary just like the 2.2 ROMs and still nothing. I think I'm either missing something extremely simple, or it's not possible. Eugene is smarter than me so hopefully he figured something out.

I was just on the RC1 thing for GB yesterday for a day, missed the trigger notif. bar and the other speed and stability bcz i always got FC's and Freezes.
I tried Jellette's PRivate stock, but still missed Trigger.
I came back to Trigger.

P.S. everytime i read your posts, then look at your Avatar, it always makes me think ur pissed off lol

Thought so, well, I read that thread before and in there Eugene didn't EVER say that he had a working GPS. What he said was that fixing it wasn't that hard and mentioned the files.
But I guess people love to stare on a bright side that doesn't even exist.
Does anyone know what EI22 could even potentially bring to the plate that the good devs haven't already achieved through stabilizing EH17?

An official build, newer files to work with. Whether people believe it or not EH17 has many outdated bits and pieces which makes certain things involving CM and or MIUI rather annoying to try to fix, when we can't have anything newer to work off of. It could me a stable build altogether or it could be worse, but it'd have newer things to test with.
EH17 is far from "stable"...

Here ya go.
There's a comparison.
Since there is no EI22 and no changelog....no way of knowing. When an OTA hits or another phone besides "Lonny's" gets it, no way of knowing.

Since none of us have seen EI22 yet, I doubt there is an answer. It's possible that all that has changed is the kernel, and we have what we think is a current kernel so there are no changes.
It's possible that there is a newer better modem that uses less battery and gets better signal. They may have better drivers or more bug fixes in apps.
We'll have to wait and see.

No it is perfectly stable with the new kernels from source release. The other stuff are enhancements. How is OC ever considered a stability fix? GPS works fine too. Just Moar's file makes it better. Solid as a rock with any ROM and new kernel...period.

Honestly, none of them are stable, they all have issues here and there.
CM-7 and MiUi is your best bet.
CM-7 is unable to connect to 911, so be careful about that.
I'm not sure if 911 works on MiUi.
Both still have issues with GPS. GPS usually only works if you reboot the phone everytime you want to use it.
I'm running MiUi ss 15.2 by 360 productions (nick). It's fine but lately it has been really laggy for some reason, maybe it's because I've installed a lot of apps. Seems to have slowed it down a lot, runs like a 2.2 rom now.
For me the two biggest concerns on 2.3 roms are 911 and GPS.

I know but that is my normal use if it doesn't hold up during normal use then it doesn't work for me. On CM7 I lose about 10-12% during the same commute.
I'm running stock everything, no fancy kernels. I do have the tweaks listed in a post somewhere here in the general section, and I run Juicedefender because I have it setup to turn off data and then check every 30 minutes for email updates etc.. other then that nothing else.
