It means you could run a beta copy of HC on Android TV. Has anyone tried this & are you able to access the market?

I read that the Revue would be getting HC 3.1 and the app store. Ordered one from Amazon with my points, and am curious to see how much better (or worse) it is than the "Smart" features on my LG TV and LG BlueRay drive.
As for how it relates to the Samsung tablet, I have no clue. Maybe if the SGT could use the Revue's keyboard while hooked up to an HDTV then we'd have an interesting basis for comparison.

Dont waste your money on the revue its way too under-powered with its ultra slow 1.2ghz Atom cpu.

Just bought my second one for 55. Logitech sent out an email for 50$ off $100 purchase added a cheap 10 dollar mouse to bring it over 100 since revue is listed at 99. Free second day air too! Ka-ching

um... the atom is not exactly under powered. If you're trying to play crysis or something, then yes, but my home router, old 4TB file server, and my HTPC ALL run on atom processors and they are more than up to the task.
HTPC is an ION combined with Atom 330
old file server was an Atom 230 single core chip
firewall is smoothwall running on an atom 230.
The atom is a decent processor, especially when combined with a hardware video solution like the ION platform.

Tablet Opinions ($300 or less)

I've really been looking around for a tablet. I don't want to spend any more than $300. I would like a tablet that has good dev support but is also a nice device. I don't care if I have to buy it off of ebay for me to get it in my price range. I like 7" and 10" preferably with a dual core. Any suggestions?
Edit: I would also like for it to most likely be able to run honeycomb in the future. Official or not.
The Acer Iconia A100 just came out with an MSRP of $329, I'm sure it will get a lot of attention by the development community.
At that price, the nook color is probably you're best bet.
I personally am a netbook user.

It's getting pretty mediocre reviews so far.
+1 at the price mentioned, nookCOLOR running CM7
Normally I would agree with the NC, but only if trying to spend around $200. For $129 more (new vs recert), you get:
Dual core 1Ghz processor (vs NC single 800Mhz)
Mini-HDMI
Honeycomb 3.2
1GB RAM vs 512MB
Front and rear camera
Is the Nook Color rooted with CM7 worth buying? Or is it better to pony up a little more for one of the more robust tablets?

Depends on what you want to do with it.
You can browse the web, play games like Angry Birds, watch Netflix, listen to Pandora or Google Music, read epub books...
I recommend buying recertified to get the most value. I bought mine from Overstock and you could not tell it was not new. $199 shipped. Ebay has them for $180 shipped.
Nook Color with CM7 is your best bet if you can live without Bluetooth. (Well technically there is an on board bluetooth chip that has been enabled in CM7 but without an antenna it's range is about 2 inches
No cameras....but the only time I have heard of a camera being used on a tablet it was a punchline in a comics joke.
Bottom line, Nook Color is the best $200 I ever spent. Only missing piece for me is bluetooth.
What about the gtab. Do you think its a good buy if I can get one for 240 with a dock?

For that price, he'd be better of going to staples.com using the 100$ rebate off tablets, then get a toshiba thrive for 329 [after 100$ off] for the 8gb model, then just use a bigger sd card, along with all the full ports.
Asus is 16gb

To sell something on XDA they recommend you do so in the market thread. You will also get much more exposure.
I to agree its much to high Acer market has them for 349.00.
I do wish you good luck.
$400 for the tablet and accessories does sound to high too me considering if some buy one at 350 and good case will cost at least 50 and the sdcard and stylus would be an easy 30 to 40. But I will take your words and put them to use and also post in the MP.

I have a Truss leather folio case, 4gb micro sdcard, and a Griffin stylus. If you or anyone else want to know more please comment below. Also I will be added photos within the week. I'm setting the opening price at $400.00 USD.

Costco Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Not sure if this is common knowledge here, but Costco sells this tab for 240$ with a case. Just figured I'd let y'all know.

Yes, it's been posted a few times. They also offer the tab 2 10.1 with case for 379.99 at selected stores.

Oh okay sorry for the repeat thread.

I might be wrong but I think it is more of a pouch than the actual case. Costco has the same offer on the 10.1 for $379.99
It is just a pouch, but it works good for me.

Picked it up to try but looks like I'll be returning..
- No ad hoc WiFi support
- No standard USB port to charge (must use Samsung cable to USB charge)
- Nearly every Gameloft game doesn't support 7"
- A few EA games work but are a bit sluggish
I really like it otherwise and would recommend if the above do not matter, but they are deal breakers for me. I tried a 10" too and find that 7" is mo betta for a mobile device. 10" just too big for me.
Nice thing about Costco is easy to return.

There is a way for ad hoc support. Few forums on that topic. Can use a previous wpa_supplicant file and replace it. Won't get into logistics but the tab needs to be rooted and permissions changed on the file and using Wi-Fi Tether change to a device profile w/SoftAp and you got tethering wirelessly. FYI.
Too bad for proprietary charger and games but extremely mobile.

I could see how not having a standard USB port would bother people, but that's nothing new to Samsung. Chances are that when people are doing their research online that they will see that.
I bought mine from BJ's Warehouse last weeek as it was on sale for $229 with the offical leather samsung pouch. (Samsung sells the pouch for $49 but I would not have paid for that as a separate accessory).
The tab was $20 bucks off but I purchased an extended 2 year warranty for $20 which includes accidental coverage. That gives three years total warranty, including the Mfr one year warranty (without accidental coverage).
If you are going to buy form BJ's they only have a 15 day return period for tablets but I have never had any return hassels from them.
I gave my wife my Original Verizon Samsung Tab 7 and I think she is hooked now on it.

Also, that's a great deal you got. I paid full price ($250) from Best Buy with full insurance for a year ($80 (Includes idiocy protection... I mean accident protection), since it will be my main device for basically everything) and feel like I got a little jipped but can definitely live with it since this is a GREAT tablet.

Well, it is not advertised, but the same $239.99 + pouch at all Costco locations. I bought mine there last week, call ahead, alot of stores sold out over the weekend.
Prices in store for Costco are always lower than they are online for their electronics from what I've seen. It could also be related to specials that are running for certain time periods with the coupon booklets they send out.
Well I'm not an expert, but I do travel a bit and end up visiting a few Costco stores. There is no sale or coupon. Some stores have the 7 inch and some stores have the 10 inch, while others have neither. They both come with a sleeve. $239 for the 7 inch and $379.00 for the 10 inch. With the addition of sales tax and not wanting the sleeve anyway, I bought mine online YMMV.

The new google nexus tablet 7"

https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_7_16gb
available for pre order in uk! @ £199,,google playstore
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMQdfGFK5XQ
As the name suggests, the Google Nexus 7 features a 7" IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 chip with 1GB of RAM and 12 core ultra-low voltage nVidia GeForce GPU.
And despite the capable hardware, Google managed to keep the price of the Nexus 7 impressively low. The slate will come in 8GB and 16GB flavors, which will retail for $199 and $249 respectively.
The Google Nexus 7 comes with Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity and Google Wallet preinstalled. Sadly, there isn’t a 3G model available, but obviously keeping the price as low as possible was key here. That's also the reason there isn't a camera at the back, and only a 1.2MP front-facing snapper. However, it's capable of shooting 720p video, so it's not all bad.
Measuring 198.5 x 120 x 10.5 mm the 7-incher weighs in at 340 grams which is respectful for its size. The Amazon Kindle Fire and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will be having a hard time indeed.
The Google Nexus 7 is already available for pre-order in UK, US, Canada and Australia and should ship in mid July. You can follow this link to book your Nexus 7 unit.

I feel you...i have been literally checking daily on rumors the past few months on this tablet. Im very turned off by the lack of SD.

i ordered one... for the price, IDGAF about storade space, i got the 16gb and it came to about 285 shipped. Thats an awesome price for hd screen, quad core processor, 12-core gpu, gps, etc. Im still amazed how they are profitable at that price. 16gb is more than enough for TRAVEL/ON THE GO. At home, you have FULL use of the cloud. On the go , I doubt you go through more than 16gb of media unless its a long trip and on long trips, u have wifi usually. I actually would have gotten the 8gb but figured 16gb is more desirable/will hold value longer. Be excited folks, i didnt think they would be able to do it. The sd slot was the BEST possible compromise, or would u have rathered to have sd but have a DUAL core, or 512mb of ram, or a 1000x600 screen or no gps etc.
