the problem is :
1- the wifi not working in this VERSION 21.1 +VERSION21.0 but it working in Older Version like 19
2- the Arabic RTL fix for V21.x not working also in this VERSION 21.1 +VERSION21.0 but it working in Older Version like 19
if version 19 works for you just keep it and update the gps libs yourself. there are no other significant changes in this versions.
and if you have a problem with a rom why don't you post it in the roms thread. no need for an extra thread in this section.

Ive seen many questions in the Q & A forum about this CWM and figured the best way is to get developers and other main contributors to look at the issues some of the "little people" have about using it. DAF was convenient and easy for all because it was one click for the people who could get that far, and since CWM, there where the 3 versions and this one has yet to really be well touched upon as a full tutorial with the copy to SD not being needed any more. I feel as do many others that a main "sticky" thread be made for it with a few FAQ on this section of the forum so they do not have to search too far away from the main thread they are using and get completely confused.
1. Will doing a backup and changing ROMs using CWM with different partition delete my backup?
2. Will doing a backup KEEP my partition?
3. Is it possible to do a partition from CWM or is the partition need to be carried on a computer?
(this to me seemed to defeat the purpose of CWM with some DEVs making their own partition layouts and not using the main ones that were originally laid out for use, no aim towards DEVs because I know they work hard)
4. If I put multiple ROMs on my SD card do I need to change the partition every time if I want to change them?
5. Is there a way to know which backups are from which ROMs I had used?
(I guess this is asking if they can change the name?)
6. How do I know when to "Wipe Cache Partition"?
I know there is *THIS* thread, however there are surely some differences between the copy of those files and not needing to copy amongst other things to which the "new" people do not understand.
If this is just a bother and hindrance to you all, I understand the deletion of this thread, however it did take quite a while to plan out what to write, and what not to should you choose to do so and I would give the answers, however even I do not know all of them and so I leave this to you all for debate. NO PUBLIC BASHING PLEASE

I said it could be moved or deleted just the questions are not very well maintained in that DEDICATED (? HA) forum there are multiple posts of the same and I felt that since there is a sticky thread here that could answer the forum issue of the DEVELOPED CWM program this should be brought to the attention and as such is a DEV related issue. It can and most likely will be moved, do you have an answer to any of the issues the people asked?

No this will not delete your back up as it is saved on yor SD card when you do the back up.

This I am not really sure of as I am not a dev but I think it does as the backup is just a backup of your settings, personal information, your gmail account associated with your Android, boot data, and any cache data that you have built up.

You can partition your SD card with CWM but I do not think you can do a system portion as CWM is what creats the system portion when you flash it. It creates a partition in the CWM.

Once again I am not a dev (yet) and I am not 100% sure of this. But I would say if the ROMs you have stored on SD card need different portition sizes then yes you will need to change the partition size when you change ROMs. If they require the same partition size then no you do not need to change the partition size.

You should be able to manually go into your SD card with a computer and change the name on the backup file, but I do not know if this will interfer with CWM being able to detect the backup file. So you might want to write down the original full name of the file befor you change it.

As a rule of thumb I would not delete my cache unless I was about to flash a new ROM.

Hi,
I am running a SD rom and want to install a Nand.
How would I do this?
the normal way, , , 2.08.hspl,any radio 2.07.50 or higher (with a .50. in it, higher than 2,07), magldr, cwm of the correct size, then the rom. the fact you have android on sd is completely besides the point.

I have SD as I was advised by "a XDA expert" so make of that what you will.
sorry, that means nothing unless you clarify why having sd would be an issue, ,, do you mean you have an sd rom you want to dual boot alongside a nand? do you mean you want to move the sd rom onto nand? or just simply flash a new rom onto nand and forget about the sd one??
more detail of what you want to do is needed, please.

I should of been more clear.
I am booting from a SD card and now I want to move onto NAND. And I want to flash a new rom and forget about the old one.
I have looked everywhere for videos to move from SD onto NANd but couldn't find any.
The rom is:

Does it matter what size the SD card is?

Then that is easy, all you need to do is what was previously posted. I would start by visiting this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783&highlight=toolkit
Download that program as it will do everything that you need to do to get prepared for a Nand rom. There is a video there of how to use it.
You basically Task 29, then you install MAGLDR 1.13. Once that is done you will install Clockwork recovery (you will need to check that Rom thread you want for the appropriate recovery size).
Once you have your recovery set up you just place your chosen Rom onto the card and flash it from recovery.
And no it doesn't matter what size your card is unless you plan on doing apps2sd.

Ok I don't normally flame people but you are asking for it my friend. We are simply attempting to help you, I listed the steps required in my post and then Marvlesz highlighted the important items and even posted the following:

He even gave you an explanation of what each value is, but you thank him by clearly not reading the info we provided and then attempting to flame him.
Every rom thread has the necessary partition listed somewhere in the first few posts. If you can't find it searching the thread will usually do it too as there is always someone asking what partition size to use.
Now we were all noobs at one point and we all have to learn the same lesson, use the search tools and ask questions last. If you do ask, pay attention to the info provided as there are a lot of knowledgeable users here who are willing to help. But by you posting like that it will almost guarantee that you get flamed the next time you asked something.
Be respectful and you will get all the help you need, continue to post like this and you will find yourself shunned.

Hang on, who says I "flamed him" I was asking about something I have no idea about. I am one of those people that goes through every flash knowing what I am doing and knowing the full facts.
I paid full attention to what advice was given and appreciate the time and effort given to me. I have no idea what size I have to partition, that's all I asked.
I do not appreciate people thinking just because they have flashed more than others, they are superior in any way.
That guy posted his comment in a way to suggest people who know less than him are stupid.
I am on here to seek advice and knowledge so that I can pass this to many others who are are on here.
According to the ROM you want, the partition size is 445 and the cache size is 5 if you have a TMOUS phone. If its the European model the you need a 150 with a cache size of 5 and you need to partition your sd card with 3 partitions. The easiest way to partition your phone is to use the HD2 tool kit. And if you need to partition your card, then use a program like EASEUS Partition Master. Hope that helps.

1- You did not flame me, you were just disrespectful.

You also ignored/still ignoring my post which had the PARTITION SIZE MENTIONED ON IT (which supports my theory that you don't pay full attention or read thoroughly the information given to you).
4-If you really came here to seek advice and knowledge you wouldn't have made disrespectful comments about those who are providing advice neither would you TOTALLY IGNORE the information given to you and simply re-ask your question . You need only 2 partitions. At first the big FAT32 Partition and a second partition with EXT3 formatted for your user apps (Size: 512MB-1024MB). Only one rom need a third SWAP partition, all other will ignore it or get problems to find the EXT3 partition.
The easiest way to create your second Ext3 Partition is in clockwork mode recovery, described like here.
But why a rom with graphic glitches (fix for that disable the hardware accelaration) and a camcorder with a 320er resolution. The graphic glitches are very annoying in games, unplayable. If you need a stable and fast gingerbread rom with sense look and features, try this one. You need 160MB system size and 5MB caches size for your clockwork partitions in HD2Toolkit for this rom.
Obvious troll is an obvious troll... Right?
Someone gave me an hd2... It took two threads and maybe 30 minutes to know the process... All of which were given/explained to you.
Check post 2 of the hyperdroid ROM in the Dev section. There is a 13 minute video that did an AMAZING job of showing each step. Maybe visual will help better, it does for me.
I prefer cm7/miui so I went with the 150MB version of cwr.
And no... I'm not better than you, but I read a lot more. I knew NOTHING about this phone.

However when installing the wizard told that it is required 150MB, or 170 with obex, but it was so awkward since this informationa was necessary beforehand - while partitioning...
Still there is not known what cache size is needed, please?

I'm not reponsible for the damages you might do to your device. do this on your own risk.
0- repartition your SDcard by a partition manager. to have a 1)data partition, 2)1024MB or 512mb ext4 partition, 3)128MB swap space. I use gparted in Linux.
1- download the latest ICS version of MIUI roms form here
This is a nonEnglish webpage, you should click on the white button to download the ROM. then copy the zip file to your SDcard
The further versions are JB, not ICS, which are less stable and still under development. I feel ICS roms are more stable for HD2.
2- Turn off your HD2, then turn it on, while holding back btn (next to the power btn). here, go to the "settings" and change the system partition to 240mb, and cache partition to 10mb
3- Then reboot and go to the Recovery to install the ROM on NAND.
4- After installation complete, MIUI just run and everything is OK except language and wifi.
# to change the language which is chinees, follow these steps:
open the settings. (tap on the settings Icon!)
go to the right panel
come down to see a keyboard icon. it's under the clock icon
tap on the keyboard icon, and then tap on the first option. then you can change the language to English.
# wifi cannot find networks. to fix this, first you should install a file manager which can do ROOT jobs. I use Solid Explorer. root explorer can also do the job.
download this attachment. and extract AND OVER WRITE fw_bcm4329.bin INTO "SYSTEM/VENDOR/FRAMEWORK". more info here.
Extra Settings:
# I don't like this huge icons. I used to install Hyperdroid ROMS which had a smaller lcd density, and I feel it was more eye candy. to make this back, open build.prop in /system and find this line: ro.sf.lcd_density=240 and change the value to 200. lower values causes problem. 200 is just ok.
5- If you like to remove the carrier text and some other extra settings, you should flash ControlPanelSuite.
download the proper version from here and copy the zip file to the SDcard. now reboot to the Recovery and install this zip file. Then you'll have a "control panel" app icon and can change extra settings.
6- I use Gmail and Gtalk, which are not included in miui. Download Talk.apk & gmail.apk from this post and move them to /system/app folder by your root file manager. and change the permissions to be like other apps there. Then download the lib files, and copy them to /system/lib and fix the permissions. (if you don't use videochat from gtalk, it's not necessary)
7- Install Link2SD. it's a good tool to move apps specially games to the ext partition. I don't like the native app2SD script in ROMs which link the whole apps to te ext. because if you remove sdcard, every thing begins to force close. because they were all on the ext partition. but in Link2SD you can keep important apps in the internal memory and link games or whatever you want to the ext partition.
8- any body has a good camera app?!

I thought it's better to be here. because these are HD2 sections:
HD2 Android Q&A and General (t's not a Q&A)
HD2 Android SD Development (It's not SD)
HD2 Android NAND Development
HD2 Android Themes and Apps (It's neither Theme nor app)

MIUI wad my favorite rom. The problem is that with GB roms, there is no HWA. So I tried to do what you said here, but it seems very slow too, more than GB roms. Do you have the same problem ?
Miui rom 2.12.14 jb
For those who are interested in the latest MIUI Rom for the HD2, it's available on miuiandroid.com including a multilanguage pack.
Here are the links:

multilang pack miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miui-multi-lang-2-12-14-ics-jb.19015/
I'm running it currently on my HD2-Tmous and it's really :good:

A little slowness yes, but it's not important to me.

These are weakly roms, and after 2.11.30 which is ICS, next versions are JB. I installed JB, but it was more slowner than ICS. more than that, in my opinion miui JB versions are still under development, but ICS has reached a little stability.
data partition? mount as /data? size?
sorry for my noob question about partition size and if someone had said about this, please tell me again because I 've already found but I couldn't see
for example, I see that "Partitions Required:
Boot - 5 MB
Recovery - 5 MB
System - 100 MB
Cache - 2 MB
Misc - 1 MB"
I know that setting system and cache partition size in HD2 toolkit, what about the others?

The others will be fine as they are. You don't need to worry about them, and normally you don't really need to worry about the cache either. Just change the /system partition each time you flash (if needed) and everything should work.

They are what their names suggest.
misc = miscellaneous << check the reference for more info.
data = your data
boot = your boot img
recovery = where your recovery resides.

It's not your fault. If I had come to this thread before you, I would have answered the same answer as yours.
ok, the information you gave me 're very helpful :good:
but I really want to know may I change them and how to
oh no, may the title of my thread made you misunderstand me, that 's my fail, sr
I know in cLK you can change them by going to Settings.
I don't use MAGLDR, so I don't know.
Why do you want to change them?
to change them, use the standalone magldr installer instead of teh toolkit, which has a file called flash.cfg which you edit in notepad and contains all the partition sizes like you listed.
