Has anyone ever had this data problem? - Epic 4G General

Alright this is just stupid. So I wake up this morning using facebook and browsing xda over 3g. I pop up power menu and turn off data, and leave phone for 30mins. I come back, turn on 3g and nothing. I've went to network settingsand fiddled with all the options there; 4G, txting, calling, and wifi work. I also had the "error: 67."
Only things I've tried is cwm wipin and flashing. I currently am away from home so can't just odin =/

Seems common. Hope you can find a solution there.

Toggle airplane mode? Try flashing another modem? That has happenend to me several times under heat with one of the gb modems when the first one came out

I don't have access to odin. Also I'm on srf 1.2 with genocide 2.0.. my phone bill is always payed.
Still no avail at wtf. I tried wiping and flashing already. Even restoring. Wouldn't care If 4G had great signal. =/

Maybe try switching modems? Sfr doesn't include a kernel so try changing to a different kernel also, some of the newer kernels and roms have the modem flash in the install.
Also j would call sprint and ask if there has been any changes to ur data or hotspots plan, they should be of some help in that end. I'm kinda curious as to how that would happen tho.

This happened to my wife's phone went into see what modem I put in and it was gone there as nothing but characters re flashed modem all set.

I get this all the damn time. Especially around my area. What works for me is re-entering the MSL & resetting it to default. It reactivates the device & you'll get your data back!
When I called Sprint about this, they told me that it was because the phone "jumped" to a different tower that wasn't so close. Hope that helps!

Your bill is paid, right? I thought I had a problem like that one time but turns out my payment wasn't taken out when it should have.
But since you're getting an error it has to be something else.

I believe error 67 refers to wrong vision username/password. Have you tried something simple such as Update Profile? Worse comes to worst you can always do an rtn reset...
edit: CWM doesnt write to those areas... Neither does Odin.

No mobile data when Odining back to JFD

Anyone run into this issue? I've been on various iteraitons of Onyx. Decided to Odin back to JFD to get a clean install, but not getting any mobile data afterwards. Wifi works, but no Edge or 3G. Even flashed Onyx 4.2 on top and still no data. Any suggestions?
are you on airplane mode?
Having a similar issue...was not getting any data connection until I switched to 2G only...i got the 3G to work briefly by messing with the combi bands, but now its back to edge only. I came from obsidian 4.2 and odin'd back to JFD.

[Q] Data Network Mode on Froyo: Safe to turn off?

I have experienced that with such apps that disable data (i.e. quick settings), they potentially ruin your CDMA data speeds. I had to re-odin my Epic to get data back to normal. Well now that we have froyo beta's out there, I noticed the option to disable data network mode. Is it safe to do so without ruining your data?
I've used that option on this new Froyo about a million times without issue. I don't think it would hurt our phones since it's baked in by Samsung and not our devs here. If you have issues with it I'd be interested to hear about them but I say try it out because I've have zero problems. I'll do another speedtest tomorrow when I'm home in Minneapolis. I'm currently at my parent's and 3g is spotty and slow here.
Ah. Ok will do. I forgot this was a leak from samsung's Hq
My CDMA data speed has been destroyed and I've been trying to figure out why. I haven't been around wifi for a couple days and haven't been able to download a new rom to flash to try it. Any fixes other than odin?

According to speedtest.net app, 13 kb/s. That's absolutely pathetic. I've seen faster dial up. I ran the test 3 times to be sure and I have 5 bars of reception. With wifi on it's 4+ mb/s.
Edit: flashed a new rom to see if that would fix it, and no luck. Looks like it's time for odin once I get access to a computer.

i use froyos 3g toggle all the time and i havent noticed a major difference. but i live up in the middle of nowhere in new hampshire and i'm experiencing faster 3G speeds and i only have 1 bar as of right now. just ran a speed test and got 102.4 kB/s. i would definitely say there's something wrong in your case, i just don't think it's the data toggle based on my own experience. However, I could be wrong.

Not sure if it's the data toggle or what, bit something is most definitely wrong with my data. I'm just going to odin the mew dk17 that was just posted. Makes life easy.

but we're talking about froyo, not eclair. Baked snack is an eclair build and this is the first time I've encountered this kind of problem. I'm going to be home soon to odin my phone and I'll let you know the outcome.

Lose 3G and have to reboot

Anyone ever have this problem? Ideas to fix it?
What rom are you running? If its a i9k 2.2.1 build you need the signal reboot fix found in the vibrant development section.

I think the problem exists for KB1 based builds as well. Had the issue with Bionix 1.31, Trigger and Axura. Went back to Nero v5 and problem solved. Also, the wifi sleeps even when the option for never sleep is checked. I wonder if it's hardware specific and only affects some phones.
Sent from my frozen yogurt powered Vibrant
To clarify my previous post: I lost 3g and had to manually reboot to get it back. It didn't reboot on its own like the i9000 builds. I ran 3 different roms from 3 different devs and they all had similar issues. The only common denominator was they were KB1 based. KB1 roms also seem to have RIL issues (very infrequent). At least that was my experience.

Data dropping happened to me a lot in the JK2 modem (had toggle flight mode on and off), but it has never happened to me since (JK6 and onwards)
Are you guys on t mobile? You might want to upgrade your sim card, i just upgraded yesterday and now my connection is more stable.

If data is just dropping and not soft booting, try flashing a new modem.

I dont have this problem but do all the ROMS now say "H" instead of 3G? The weird things is, I still 3g pop back up there intermitently for a second or two here and there...from what I gather, H is the same thing, but if that's so, then why do I still see 3g pop back up there sometimes?
I'm on KB1 and I hate this ****.

I had this problem on Trigger 2.7.1/overstock couldn't reestablish data through airplane or toggling data type. In since flashing 2.7.2 havent had it at all. Fingers crossed. No reboots either. Same kb1 modem.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
Im going through something similar right now. Running Axura 2.3.1.0 with KB1 modem currently, was on CM7 with KA7 prior and had same issue. I have 0 3G, doing a speed test on 2G i get between 68 and 85kbps download speed, and when on 3G i get between 46 and 60kbps, so actually my 3G is basically dead. Went and got a 3G sim card from t-mobile, called them about 26 times and had them reset my network, filed a trouble ticket and still no dice... not sure whats going on. I was throttled and my cycle restarted on the 21st, its now the 24th and still seems like im throttled but im not, its actually a dead 3G, not sure why... anyone know what i can do to fix this? Is it a bad phone now? T-Mobile doesnt seem to have a clue, nor will they help me out... dunno, tried everything and now im just stuck with no speed... blows!!!

[Q] Poor Network Connection

I am using Syndicate Rom Frozen 1.1.0 and have been loving how fast it is. The only issue I have discovered is that the indicator at the top is showing 0 or 1 bar for 3g network. Therefor I have been missing about 75% of calls, and dropping more. I came from factory DI18 Eclair. I had to flash the rom twice to get it to work. Still no 3g service. (fyi...flashed yesterday)
Your phone probably doesn't like the EC05 modem. Flash the EB13 modem.

ya that sounds similar to the last few days, i definitely think sprint is doing something..
I am near Portland, OR. I was on EC05 and things were working fine. I flashed back to factory DI18 and then to SRF. Things didn't get slow until SRF. Should I reflash the EC05 modem, or just try EB13? I too am roaming where I normally have full service.

GS4 data very sporadic

My s4 data is bad to kick off and back on. It has done had since I first got it. I have 3_g at home and it's very solid signal, I never lose signal in fact i keep 4-5 bars but data kicks in and out all of the time. My old phone was very solid never lost data signal ever. I have tried the 3 different radios and several ROMs but they all do the same thing? It doesn't show roming and it looks to be on sprint solid. I know I've read about losing data due to flashing but mine works fine then it doesn't work, off and on, off and on all of the time... Rebooting sometimes brings it back, switching radio off will sometimes too but sometimes I just have to walk away for 10-30 min and it'll pop back up... any ideas?

I will assume that you have updated PRL and profile. If not, do so. If that does not solve the issue, call Sprint to see if thry are working on towers in your area.
Yes I did update profile/prl as well. I have a second phone we keep in the house (as my house phone) but it keeps data signal just fine never drops either. I haven't called Sprint I may try that but I really think its buggy firmware

Hope the problem works itself out. One last suggestion would be a factory reset (that is if you didnt wipe data through rom flashes). Doing so can potentially fix a lot of different isses....maybe this as well. Good luck
