I'm not sure if I'm blind or what, the SBF on Windows thread says I should be able to find the 2.2 SBF on that thread, but I cant find it ANYWHERE!
I really just want to go back to froyo from gingerbread. I have constant restarts, data and text will just turn off randomly.....sick of it.

Hello-
About a month ago I installed a beta of 2.3.4 on my Atrix (System Version: 45.3.0.MB860.Retail.en.05, Baseband N_01.77.15P, Kernel Version 2.6.32.9 xphk86 zch68lnxdroid45 #2, Build number olympus_hktw-userdebug 2.3.4 4.5.2A-5_OLH-3 110614 test-keys).
I'm getting tired of all the bugs in this dev version and would like to upgrade to the official 2.3.4.
Is it safe to do so? How would I go about updating it? Download the .zip from motorola's website? -- or is there a safer way of doing this? Would it be safe for me to use RSD/SBF to downgrade and then do OTA?

As you stated you have the hktw 2.3.4 rom so YOU HAVE AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER IF YOU TRY TO RSD/SBF ANY MOTO SBF "WITHOUT" you will end with hardbrick
So the safe path to get official gb will be the2dcour 2.3.4+pudding sbf REMEMBER ALWAYS STICK WITH PUDDINGS SBF FROM NOW ON
I forgot the word pudding after "WITHOUT"
Thanks so much mramirezusa!
I can't post links, but is this what I'm looking for? Thread titled: [PUDDING] International House of Pudding! (Unlock/root thread) Updated July 23 2011.
Yeap you have 3 options:
1. Flash 1.83 WITH PUDDING from that thread and then perform OTA directly from your phone to get official 2.3.4/4.5.91
2. Flash 2.3.4 WITH PUDDING from that thread
3. moto-fastboot boot/system/webtop/preinstall/recovery extracted from official moto 2.3.4 SBF
Option 1 and 2 upgrade the bootloader so you CAN NOT perform any downgrade by moto standards (RSD/MSU)
Option 3 do not upgrade the bootloader

Hey--
So, I tried option 2 -- downloaded 2.3.4 + pudding +preroot from that thread here on XDA.
Downloaded the latest drivers, RSDLite 5.3.1, removed the SIM and SD card and flashed this SBF.
Now, I'm stuck in an infinite reboot loop. Can anyone help?
Can I use fastboot to flash a ROM on there? Any recommendations for 2.3.4??
Thanks,
Lee
Edits:: trying to get into Android recovery -- I'm getting the android robot with an exclamation point. Any other options I can try in the menu when you hold the volume down button?
Edit 2:: I got android to boot again using kenneth's hktw + fastboot ... now i'm back on this developer 2.3.4.
I am looking at rooting my Droid X, which I understand is a bit more complicated then what it took to root my Xoom. Eitherway, I have found plenty of instructions on how to accomplish this, however there seems to be this constant of having to downgrade the "Firmware". Everything tells me to go to Settings -> About to find the firmware version number so I know if it is above 2.3.340 so I can downgrade if I need to. However, I don't see anything in my settings that states "Firmware". I am sure its one of the items in there, but I want to be sure about which one it is. I am posting my settings below. Can some please point out the correct one? Thanks.
System Version

I am hoping its not the System or Build versions because that would mean I need to go back 2 major revisions, which doesn't seem like a good idea.
It is your system version, but there's no need to downgrade. Just follow the instructions in this thread:

Thank You, I will give that a try!
Absolutley perfect. It easily rooted by Droid X with no pronlems, no changes in firmware, and no wipes of the user data!
Perfect! Thanks again for the help!
Trying to update Incredible from 2.2 to 2.3. Build 3.26.605.1, baseband 2.15.00.07.28
I started to run the OTA update from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770091 but the baseband version is different. So where do I go from here?
Quick search found this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263269
Also your version numbers are off, 2.3 is 4.06.605.3 baseband 2.15.10.7.7
No, my version numbers aren't off. I currently have 2.2, those version numbers refer to my current build. I'm trying to GET 2.3

The base band is the radio version. The reason it's different is because it comes with the OTA to update it to .07.07.
EDIT: According to the post, "First off, ensure that you have the Stock 2.1 ROM with first OTA, it WILL NOT work otherwise.
software/Build version will read as the following: 1.22.605.2..."
Looks like you need to be at 2.1 to run that update.
Got it working. Rooted Froyo, then loaded the Liberation ROM. Extremely happy with it!!
Thank you for your input guys!

There's a SEA-Retail sbf in there. Look for the one that ends with "-searet". And yes, it's the full stock sbf.
As has been warned many times in this forum, if you don't know what you're doing, DO NOT flash an sbf. It might brick your phone. Although 4.5.2A is the latest version for SEA (which means it should be safe - bricking only occurs when downgrading), I'd still recommend caution.
i c..so after i unlocked and flash custom rom, can i use this sbf to back to stock and perform ota? or after unlocked bl, i could not use ota if it is available..
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
You can use that to go back to stock, but only if you were on the same/earlier build. Do not use sbf to downgrade.
hmm..ok..mean that if i flash custom rom from 4.5.2A version of 2.3.4, if wan to go back stock, i only can flash this 4.5.2A sbf to get back to stock rite?

Yes.
that's nice..thank for the answer..by the way, can I still update to official ics through ota update if Motorola release it using this sbf? it won't brick my device right?
You *should* be able to update from stock ROM, but since official ICS isn't out yet, we still don't know if Moto changes anything in their update policy. They could in theory prevent the updates to be installed on unlocked devices.
In any case, when the official update hits, I'll bet the devs are gonna be all over it anyway...
ok..maybe i will just unlocked it and use because i not sure when is ics will release for international version..thanks for help ya..
ICS has only been confirmed for US (AT&T) devices. Other regions are still "under evaluation". Seeing how the US version is currently on 2.3.6 and other regions on 2.3.4, I wouldn't bet on Motorola releasing ICS internationally unless there's a huge pressure from users like with Milestone's Froyo update.
so there might had chance that international version might not get the ics upgrade?
Yes. Looking at Motorola's update history, there's a chance that the international version won't get ICS (at least officially).
i see..but motorola update schedule listed the asia retail as ics upgrade in planing. so it might fail during the process?
From Motorola's Upgrade News:
PHASE 1 – EVALUATION & PLANNING: During this phase, we evaluate the benefits, technical issues and user experience of an upgrade. Generally, we are not able to provide release dates in this stage. There are also some cases in which we can state that an upgrade will happen but are not able to provide a release date. Please note that some products that enter the Evaluation and Planning phase may not complete the upgrade cycle.
wow..seriously speechless..but then never mind. if its fail, I still can grab custom rom that based on at&t ics right?
Yes. I do hope we get an official ICS release, though.
