That's the same question I have. But the best way to know the answer is going to the Android section in Blackstone forums, and reading, and reading again, and going again to read, and more and more...
So, I NEVER would open a new thread TWICE to ask such question. I'm surfing the web during 15 days to find the things I consider important. I've flashed 5 times my Blackstone during the last 15 days testing the best way to do things (and that Blackstone is not a device for pleasure, I need it working because I need it for my job)
Cleaning and ironing this thread and some others can be a good idea ;-)

I've try several Android roms for my Blakcstone...still try to figure out~! i really hope i can play the Android system soon!!!
Many thanks for the ppl who wrote the roms!!!

anddroid on HD2. is it Possaoble?

I had my hd2 for 2 months and i love it. But, im getting very disappointed that it's lacking in apps and community support unlike the andriod and iphone os. I see poplur apps that are available for android and iphone but not wm. i am starting to wish i never got the hd2 and really wish i knew about the evo thats coming out soon.
on top of that i see the phone on ebay has really dropped in price to about £270 ($411)
so is it possible to put android on hd2?
Wow
Before you get blasted for making a post and not searching let me give you some advice, Search! There are a LOT of threads about Android on HD2, it's not there yet but it is being worked on. Really, type Android in the search bar and you will see all the threads asking the same thing, good luck

If you used the search functions (like most people) you would find your answer.
If you did this simple thing you would find that at this time, its not yet possible, HTC have the best group of developers on it but are having some trouble with the porting or something.
I'm just a few days away from being able to use my HD2 as a micro-oven

I bet your cooked ROMs will taste delightful!
Off: I succeeded in using my HD2 as a condom yesterday! Took me ages to port every bit of information...
On: Let's assume you haven't read the forum rules, thus you wouldn't know about the built in Search function. There`s Google. Why not Google for something (such as "android on hd2")? After all, it`s much easier to type and to read than typing a long post on a board where you need an account and where you need to wait for others to answer your question...
At least he searched the price of the HD2 on ebay...
i bet you guyz are unfriendly , help him if not *********** ,......,
anyway its still under development and needs some time i can say its 40 % to its full
potential

It also really surprised me to see the price of HD2 drop down so quickly. Maybe mostly because not so many people can get on well with HD2, which is the best phone I've ever bought.
Easy on the flaming guys. Im sure he understands now. For all u know, u might just drive someone away from xda with negative thoughts......where as this is one of the most helpful community.
Like yourself I'm a new HD2 owner. I can understand why you might think there's a lack of apps for our device, when devices like the iPhone have 160,000+ apps. However I've found four different GPS nav apps out there (Igo, CoPilot, TomTom and Garmin), an app to make a flashlight out of your camera LEDs, a registry editor, a voice-dialler, a metal detector, a decent file explorer, a media player etc etc etc. The question needs to be asked, how many media players / file explorers / gps apps do you need on your device? For me, one of each is more than enough. Many of the iPhone apps are just double-ups of the same functionality.
After getting my phone I spent the next week on XDA searching for apps, themes, tweaks and games, trying them out and working out what works and what doesnt.
My HD2 is now running and looking mint, and I've got more games than I know what to do with. As the others in this thread have already pointed out, you do need to take the time and use the search function.
As for support, you couldn't be more wrong - it was the emmense wealth of knowledge of XDA-developers that gave me the confidence to buy the HD2. It will take you time to find the info you're looking for in these forums, but the answers are there, and you'll end up with a superior phone to the iPhone if you're prepared to give it a chance.
Drop me an email on [email protected] if you'd like to know where to find the bits you're after.
Not only he did not serch .. but hes speling sux too. !
This is one of the funniest Android response threads that I've read lmao. At least the repsonses were good natured and not hateful like some other threads have been. And I hope the OP didn't get scared away, he should think of it as his initiation. And Im sure a lot of Senior users had at least one noobie moment in the beginning.
When I had my Shadow/Juno and started modding my first post was "where is the windows folder"

Tell us something about your phone.
What ROM / Radio you have on your phone?
(go to settings / about phone / software info...)
Then you have to choose a build. If you have time it is better to try several and choose the one you are most comfortable in. I tried 5-6 builds so far and yesterday I installed latest JDMS build and am very happy with it. It is not that fancy looking like Desire HD builds but it is very much faster and for me so far everything works.
As kokfann said it is best to do some research on forums and get a little better picture, but if you are stuck in something let us know. I came to this forum several months ago and I understand how much stressful can be searching the best solution on so much information here. And as I see often lots of people here are just waiting for a newbie to ask some basic question just to flame him horribly. Do some search and ask if you need something.
Start by reading (at least first several pages):

[Q] is it possible for android phone to use same builds used in HD2

Dear Friend Thank you for lookinf into my question.
I have an HD2 from sometime now and thanks to the dev's on XDA for android and windows i am able to continue using my phone and liking it everyday
My question is: since i am set that android is better than winmo at least for me and i am using it permanently. If i buy an android phone LIKE Desire HD or Desire, will i be able to change the roms like my touch 4G or any other rom build.
or i will be bound to specific roms and themes for it.
i like to test everything i could and enjoy trying new systems, which i am doing now on my HTC HD2. But even with the stability of android roms nowadays i think the performance will be better if it is a native android phone.
Opinions are mostly appreciated
I'm no expert in either of those phones, but almost every Android phone has a pretty active dev'ing scene. It's not that much effort to switch roms on a native Android phone, but certainly more than with an HD2.
The variety of roms will also be less I think, coming from an HTC magic the abundance of choice here quite shocked me.
You can find the answer to this exciting question, and more, by reading the forums for other phones.
Well i dont suppose .
All the HD2 build out here have custom kernels and other tweaks which have been modified according to its hardware and devices specification.
But you can surely port it to your device. MEaning you will have to modify and tweak the builds accordingly.
I aint sure though

Thanks for looking into the subject, but, i tried before asking and i could not get the proper answer for it, i found some things that was not clear to me maybe since i am not a user for that specific device. Thats why i asked, so that someone who has enough knowledge about it could help with the info.
Thanks for your effort.

Thanks for the info, i think you might be right about the kernels and required mods. that did shed a little light about the answer.
Thanks again for your effort

Read and ask in these forums...
Desire - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=594
Desire HD - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=754
You're asking in the HD2 forum if there are ROMs available for other phones? Sorry, but that's just a waste of everyone's time (yours in particular!) Go to the relevant forums and do lots of reading in them before asking any questions, but ask them in THE RIGHT PLACE.
Oh yeah...
Thanks for your effort.

Suggestion for thread with a poll of Different roms

Hi everyone
I got my HTC HD2 and it had WinMob,I ordered it last week so i have being doing my homework and im not a complete noob
While i was waiting for it to arrive i was playing around with an Android Phone,I really like the interface and app store and have decided to switch.
I will be using the NAND method and have read over all the guides but theres a few things i need help with,
The 1st is prob a total noob question so forgive me
(1)My radio version is r 2 06 51 07 so from what i can gather i should be ok using this? The only reason i ask is in case this was an update that HTC applied to stop people changing the OS
(2)When choosing a stable ROM will ii have all the features i have with WinMob(Flash,Camera,Wifi,Bluetooth etc)
I have read a lot of threads and from what i gather some roms will have all these features while others are still being updated
(3)
WHich ROM version to use?
Now from looking around the threads i understand this is like "Walking in to a bar and asking 10 guys which beer to drink" But to be honest im looking for a stable Rom that will have all the features,Basically a noob rom,Im not really looking for a ROM that will give me a lot more features than WinMob
After a while when im more confident i will start changing roms and reporting
bugs to help the developers here
(4) Suggested Donation to the developer of the ROM
Developers put countless hours in to developing these roms are are nice enough to give it to us for free and are happy with a thank you
I think its only fair to make a donation,However what amount would be suggested,
I have used the search function and have found a lot of the answers i was going to ask but i cant seem to find the answers to the above questions,
If they have being asked before ghen please tell me the keywords to search,I know how busy people are on this site and dont want to be wasting there time
Thank You in Advance
(1) I'm not sure but i believe only 2.xx.50 radio's were supported by Android/MAGLDR/CLK
Try this thread, i don't know if it also applies to T-Mobile US or Telstra versions.
Be sure to have HardSPL installed on your device, otherwise you can't install the radio.
2.15.50.14 is the most commonly used radio.
(2) Android development for the HD2 has been going for ages now and it's practically an android native device nowadays with all drivers present and working.
Although there are some modifications needed to fully support Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (almost everything is working, but the camera drivers won't record video and there where some issues with data drops) but allot of people are working on it.
(3)For starters i would suggest Hyperdroid, it should be fast and stable.
If you're becoming anxious for more fiddling around and trying to get every little bit of power available in your HD2 then try Dorimanx's ROM.
(4) That's personal, if you don't like it a bit then don't donate. If you think it has completely wiped the urge/need to buy yourself a new phone then you could donate a nice sum of money. Between 5 and a 100 dollars.
Hope i've been of help.
Thank You
I was wrong about the radio version and im trying to change that at the moment,Im having a few problems with the syncing but im looking around the threads and think i know what the problem is.
Il look in to those ROMS you suggested.
Thank you for the help

can u suggest me a android rom for my htc leo:hd2

Hello, I m using htc leo:hd2, and its now converted to android, but the problem is about phone is showing my phone is htc bravo android v.2.2.1. Please guide me to find a suitable ROM for my phone... and how can i get it?
There is a Android HD2 NAND development section you know.
try LOOKING there
its not hard you know, looking
try this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25781675#post25781675
I think by now, we are tired of seeing the exact same thread pop up over and over again.. A simple google search of "best android rom" would result in a plethora of hits that would have solved your problem faster than making a new, but redundant thread.. One size does not fit all, and you will have to try out various roms before you find one that you like..
Thanks a lot

This one has been really good for me.
look for one of the miui roms
Welcome to forums. I'll give you a few brief tips on what I've learned over the last six months about android, hd2, and android.
With a typical nand install, the bootable system is installed on your internal nand, irrespective of your sd-card being present. Some may relate to the following comparison to a microsoft windows based system: your nand is like your internal hard drive "master" that contains your "C:" drive.
Your system folder on your nand has files specific to your device as required for it to boot and run properly. To access the market (google play) as well as have various hardware functionality, there is a file "build.prop" that is a small file with a text list of various descriptors. Being that the hd2 was not shipped with android, some of these descriptors name other devices as opposed to the actual device. In this case the "leo" or hd2 is using a ported version of android from a "bravo" or desire HD. So your system isn't malfunctioning describing another device name, rather, it could be looked at as "masquerading" as another device. I'm certain that is a severe dumbing-down of the technical details, but it's been helpful for some to look at it that way.
As for xda, I hope you spend an enormous time reading and not posting, as I have done all year. I have not posted at all and have literally read damn near every single post in the hd2 section and many more useful posts in other sections. After over six months and countless hours experimenting/flashing/customizing/etc on my own I am beginning to post now, attempting to contribute a bit in the forums that aren't still restricted for me because I feel comfortable enough to begin working towards contributing my input in the developer forums.
Most forums online have a similar attitude towards the plethora of posts like this, which bluntly request a quick answer for what is best determined through spending time reading and researching.
Hopefully you read the above and didn't skip to the end here where I wholeheartedly recommend the xylograph paranoid android ics rom. Cheers, and best of luck getting this amazing phone to fight well.
Amen to that. Nonetheless for starters go soft on your first rom get the CM7 of tyween. It's light and works well. But it's your choice. Indeed, look at me, just joined yesterday spent also almost six months reading the posts and relevant dev threads. Why am I posting, need it now to be able to complete my ten......
I can say for myself only. By my opinion, AOKP has best combination of settings and tweaks which really make life easier. Battery life and speed of this rom are very very good. But unfortunately this rom was not very stable for me, I experienced hot reboots regularly.
So I switched back to NexusHD2. It has comparable battery life and speed, but less tweaking possibilities. Stability of this rom has always been out of question for me. It is solid rock.
TyphooN CyanogenMod ROM was my first rom on HD2 and I have only positive impressions of it. Switched to ICS just because this phone let me do that. Prefer newer versions when possible.
