looks good.
have you used this? how is its performance?
(dont trust the websites user feedbacks..)

Nope, I don't need one

I've been looking to buy a good stylus myself. Having done a bit of research, I have narrowed the choice down to Kensington Virtuoso. I haven't used it myself yet, but it seems to be getting the best reviews.

Does anyone know what this is?

Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is well. I am new owner of an Xperia, and even more novice and realm of modding it.
This site is an immense resource and is probably a strong reason why people started loving their Xperias, despite the shortcomings. Anyway, excuse my ignorance, but I ran into this while being on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36YtZHXGCjA
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know what this is and how is this possible?
2. Has anyone tried using it or has access to whatever this entails?
Again, excuse my ignorance, should that be the case . Thank you for reading!

this looks like one of those chinese knock-offs. as far as i know, there isn't anything out yet for our real xperias that mimics an iphone's os
Ye don't bother it's a cheap knock off...I did a little research on them, they sell them on eBay shipped mainly from Asia. They don't have a slide out keyboard like the real X1.
They also do exactly the same ones in an iPhone shell. This guy does a pretty comical review of it, it uses the same operating system as the one from the video you posted by the looks of things. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=B2tVE7qRLwk&feature=channel_page
Stay clear I'd say!!!
well ... this one HAD a slideout keyboard.
people uptop dont know
its called iFonz i don't have it on my xperia but its an app that replicates the iphone ui
makes sense ^^
i knew that tool but never ever installed it nor watched a video about it. if i want an iphone ... i'd bought one
ahh I didnt watch the whole video but I've seen those fake X1s on ebay before.
It's a real Xperia in the video running S2U2 and iFonz.

What you are looking for is iFonz, as others have already mentioned. For some screens and info on it, visit my blog at: http://xperiancer.blogspot.com/2009/01/ifonz-iphone-for-windows-mobile.html
Just that too bad no one's made a panel to launch iFonz yet.
That would be cool, a Panel... but since iFonz is not add-on or replacement of the Today screen but rather comes on top of it... i don't mind using it as is either.
Does Ifonz run? I thought it had no wvga support

It sure does... http://xperiancer.blogspot.com/2009/01/ifonz-iphone-for-windows-mobile.html
Not WVGA support from the developers, yeah (as you can see from the bottom bar in landscape a little shy of the total width)... but it runs perfectly none-the-less.

Would you recommend the Touch HD to a friend?

Just as the thread topic asks, would you recommend this phone to someone else? Or would you avoid it and choose a newer model? I'm asking as I'd like an upgrade from my kaiser and I want a bigger screen and accelerometer for better web browsing. This phone is top of my "must buy" list. As with any phone they have their good points and their bad points and obviously it's personal taste, but I was hoping to find out about any obvious major pitfalls before buying (ie. shoddy call quality, etc), or if it's worth every penny and you enjoy using it daily.
Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thx.

Search before you post would be a good idea as this has been asked before HERE!!
IMHO, if your going to buy a phone why not go for the newer model, aka the HD2??

[Q]A rom or something to make my Galaxy Tab better

I want to know if anyone is making or thinking of making the Galaxy Tab more unique. I mean like roms and everything that make super awesome use of it altogether. I understand this is what Google is trying to do with Honeycomb, but as you know the Galaxy Tab is Samsungs and you know how good they are with updates...
I am asking this because when people ask me what it can do I have to always say something like "It's like my phone but better" or "It does everything my phone does without the calling"
there are no real custom roms out yet, but there are 2 or 3 "mods" u can try
I see almost everything is for GSM based Tabs, why is there no real love for the VZW or Sprint TAB? Is it that much harder to port things over for or is it cause not many of us TAB owners using VZW/Sprint?
Verizon tabs are easier to get clockworkmod on. You can just buy the app. So I dont think it would be harder then a gsm model. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
u have to jump through hoops just to flash cwm on the fascinate
Not sure what u mean by "better" though. I didn't want a phone but I want something I can use alternative to netbook. 3g and phone capabilities are plus but not necessary as long as there is wifi. I can read ebook and watch my ripped movies and animes on big enough screen for one person. Netflix would be a huge plus for that aspect. I gave up on buying mp3 player because I dont want to carry another device and tab does play music okay.
Tab is not really meant to be better for everyone nor better than smartphone, I think. It is only better for people who can find better use.
I am using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=909429
and it has made a huge difference as far as speed and responsiveness.
LauncherPro is much better than the Samsung Home in my opinion also which is also preinstalled.

Kable, that little character at the bottom as your signature is a trip. Freaking shocked me when I read what it said not sure how I feel about it
As far as what you posted, thanks for this information

MODS: I wasn't sure where to put this, I'm pretty sure this is the wrong place though.
Hi All,
This looks like quite a good and cheap alternative to the Galaxy Tab, has anyone seen or used one of these? I'd like to know how good they are, I may pop into Maplins and ask to have a go!
http://www.maplin.co.uk/7inch-andro...=email&utm_content=a47kj&utm_campaign=11p02-1
The website has 2 reviews of it, both of which are positive and one mentions a dedicated forum.
Maybe we should open up a separate forum for this device? Hopefully it can be hacked so we can put custom ROMs on it? Maybe that's wishful thinking...
Looks like I spoke too soon.
It has been rooted. More info can be found here:
http://scrolltabletforum.co.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=344
And there is a thread about this tablet over at CyanogenMod and someone has put a CM Froyo build on it!
This looks like a good and cheap piece of kit, albeit the resistive screen!
CM thread: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/13710-scroll-tablet/
Even cheaper at Tescos!
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-9845.aspx
IMO, this looks a lot better on paper than most of the cheapo chinese tablets I've seen in the past, but the deal breaker for me is always going to be the resistive screen.
At that price point though, it may be worth a punt if you've not got a Tab!
Regards,
Dave
just get the advent vega - its capacitive and actually better specced in some ways than the tab

Did you had the chance to test it already? Sounds good - Tegra2 and less than 300 EUR...

Hello All! Ready for some Questions?

Hey guys-
Just wanted to say Hello! New member to this community- just recently picked up a 16gb White Note 10.1 (Got a great deal on it.)
Will be picking up a nice leather case (don't care about bluetooth keyboard) and a 64gb SD Card
Alil background- came from a 32gb HP Touchpad running CM10.1 on it!
Few questions to get me started:
Rooting- what's the best/ stable ROM out right now for the Note 10.1?? I have the US Variant 8013.
And what's the procedure? As I said- for the HP Touchpad- we just had to install PALM files/ Novacom and run a command within DOS- is it similar? Or do you guys use that Framaroot? And how would one "unroot?" For the Touchpad- we just had to run ACMEUninstaller!
ROM Requirements/Wishes:
I'd like to keep the ability to use the SPen/ Note features, as well as the ability to use Samsungs Allshare Cast Dongle (which I will be getting shortly- unless someone states something better to use)
I'm not looking to overclock it too much and would like a nice UI that's not like Touchwiz- unless I can have the ability to get rid of the amount of homescreens.
I'd like to be able to change Grid size as I dislike how the screen is just crammed into the middle. And if you've done this- what's the best size/ setup?
I'd also like MultiView for EVERY app- is that possible? And if so- do I just use the apk tool? or does a ROM already include that feature?
Also- besides S Note- what's the best notebook/ writing app you use? I've seen Papyrus, LectureNotes, and a few others. Looking for something really stable and that doesn't mess up with "hand/ palm support" because I've noticed that even S Note sometimes gets finicky when trying to write like an actual pad. I know I know- it's not perfected yet- but it's still good to ask
Thanks for your time and looking. Can't wait to dive into this and see what this bad boy can do.

Wasn't trying to offend- just listed credentials to see what ROMs would meet them- sorry for any offensive content.
Secondly- was just inquiring what apps were good for writing- besides snotes etc.
Also- whats the best resolution wallpaper to get for our tablets? I've tried 2048x2048 and used gallery to resize it- and tried 1280x800- but neither look right to me

I found that Write in combination with Rotation Lock Adaptive creates the best writing experience for me. Write can be setup to ignore all touch, while still recognizing the s-pen. However your hand may still touch the buttons on the bottom of the phone. To take care of that is where Rotation Lock Adaptive comes in. Set it for reverse portrait and the buttons get moved to the top and there is nothing for your hand to touch and mess thing up. I also added a BoxWave anti-glare screen protector which adds a little tooth to the screen so the pen feels more like it is writing on paper.

I've got the 8013, and I'm not a fan of this rom. It's buggy and crashes for me. I'm still looking for a good one.
