In addition i say that NOT ONLY HAS BEEN REMOVED THE ROM THAT AS ROACH SAY IS A COPY BUT ALSO RELAEASES THAT WERE NOT BASED ON HIS ROM (I MEAN REVOLVER <1.9).

grow up, you know what he means. Are you not disturbed that one ROM maker can get another kicked off without much effort? Now we've lost a good ROM and we really only have one choice. Android is supposed to be an open system. I dont care if it was line by line a copy and he changed one thing. That's supposed to be the purpose of the open OS.
Of course I don't like people taking other devswork and essentially put it out for download with their name on ad paid sites. When there is money involved that is not fair. For Gnufabio's defence, he had one
Good feature that has nothing to do with roach, that is the revolver parts that worked well. I would encourage both of them to make somthing similar for prime roms, and work together instead of one accusing the other. and then share the credit rather than stealing and *****ing.

they killed gnufabio's all postings
I think the tipping point that broke the camel's back, so to speak, was when fabio started to make money out of his rom. Maybe the original rom developer did not see it as proper.
All I got to say is that I used both prime and revolver and revolver IA faster and smoother. So I have no idea how they are the same. As for making money, most if not all devs have a donate tab. So that shouldn't be the issue. I'll be searching for the revolver Rom and hopefully he will get it up somewhere

Normally, i wouldnt reply on such thread, but arent we a community that should be friendly and help eachother where we can? Who did what, i leave that in the middle. Its just a shame that the revolver thread has been taken offline, it is a good rom made by a good dev and such is prime also. We should be glad to have some nice devs who putting a lot of effort tho provide these to us as there arent much devs working on transformers rom atm.

Wow I'm sooooo sorry to speak my mind. I thought this was a free forum for that reason. And on multiple sites and I believe in the op for revolver he did give credit to roach and others. Hell they all use stock to make their own additions. Not like any of them made it from scratch. Im not a dev, just a user. But I say the more devs tweaking the better for all.

+1 wait for our devs to bring us great things for froyo. If what your looking for is not there in the next weeks or months, then ask.. There is a great possibility that they already know what froyo needs.. I'm sure voodoo and a proper cwm will be first on their list... Then cleaning, fixing, and getting rid of the verizon spy..
Just give them some coffee money to keep them on the fascinate band wagon..and hope it keeps them from jumping on the new dual core phones coming out soon

Agree completely. I saw requests yesterday evening on the forums, which is absurd. You can't expect the devs to get a froyo leak working AND release a complete library of froyo themes and ROMs on the same day. I'm sure within the next few weeks there will be MORE than enough ROMs and themes to go around.

Just because someone requests something does not mean they expect it, much less immediately. Perhaps there have been some rude people who did give off such an attitude, but it's hardly fair to lump the properly appreciative and understanding folks in with them.

+1 I've been watchin these forums for a little over a month just waitin for froyo... Im thrilled ****less in 3 days from the official 2.2 leak and we're going to have what 4 diff ROMS... I dont think devs mind bug reports the first while, then maybe some suggestions. If your going to request I'd suggest attatch that to a donation towards there time and hard work...

Actually it does matter. Attitudes like this and "angry mob" threads will just scare people off or prevent them from posting for fear of being pounced on. Not the best way to foster a community. And I can't speak for XDA as I rarely post here, but PLENTY of people on another board I frequent have not been shy with their praise of devs and contributors. Just because there aren't specific threads for it doesn't mean no one gets thanked
But anyway just my two cents. You may all resume burning effigies.
on a lighter note, nitsuj is a beast at theming, cranking out a couple themes mere hours after the leak went up.

That's entirely possible, and if I've offended anyone then I do apologize, I just don't see the harm in people (politely) requesting ports of this or that theme. It gives the devs/modders a good idea of what's popular and therefore what to focus on if they feel so inclined.
If the offense scares noobs from posting where's my froyo? I'm willing to do it.
I'm tired of the honeycomb and gingerbread threads...
If it scares them to simply searching and reading threads, than I'm willing to take the hit as an offensive member... It's rediculous how many noobs think they are obligated. This I agree with, I see no harm in people requesting themes, like someone else said it is good to know what is popular, it's not like most are trying to demand it or expect it to happen immediately.
People asking about Gingerbread and Honeycomb is a little crazy, while I think they should search but it really doesn't bother me all that much. Worse case scenario answer them or don't.

Congrats to all the kids and trolls in the vibrant section for running of another dev. For those that haven't seen Eugene has removed all of his work from XDA. I don't understand how people can be so hateful for someone taking their time to make our phones better.

Although you have good intentions, this topic is pretty meaningless and does not belong in the development section. This section is for posting dev projects/reference like builds/roms/kernels/tuts etc.
All the latest info goes into the actual HC dev topics that exists, what point would be in putting them here?

Spacemoose1 is already doing his\her best to create a good working port and Dip7 (as much as I know) is not working on HC right now. So I doubt that your offer will change anything in HC development.
Spacemoose already has a new Tab on the way to his home, so I doubt he would need another one to continue working on his HC port.
But he is a fan of donations, so if anyone wants to donate, go to his thread and toss him some pizza & beer money

Like I understand it spacemoose1 has both a cdma and a gsm tablet on the way, but it sort of makes sense for this guy to send him a 1010 wifi only tab, I've heard that hardware is somewhat different. So if there's very little development done on 1010 then it's understandable that he wants to make sure something gets done.

Dude, there isnt even a custom froyo rom for the 1010 so what makes you think this topic is going magically make a HC appear?
It is a good idea though for the OP to send spacemoose a 1010 and when another build is created it can be tweaked and tested on it.
Its the biggest problem that there is nothing, and my coding is so fecken rusty acid would not help otherwise would start it myself...... Can't wait for sammy to do it hell it will be the next rapture event by the time they get there job done but by then..... Well it will be the rapture so that means everyone using windows phone i guess >:~}

Its why I created the thread in the hopes that Space or others would be interested in starting this then I would have no probs in sending them a dev tab to play with and when they are done send them a brand new one also!!
Like I said I have shipped lots of these devices to UK and Ireland and would love to be able to say to clients its actually going to happen and some time soon??? but hehe knowing my luck a few good devs start it get it done then in the same week sammy then release the offical rom

Using Thors now. Why is hardware accelaration not working? Its working in Blazingwolfs. Are these guys not working together/.
Just plugged in Thor's ROM and here are some things I noticed immediately:
No market
When I tried to sideload the market, it said I didn't have an SD card installed, which I do
Color variations, primarily green
Widgets show cell widgets (obviously not needed) as well as the cell '4 bars' in the notification area
Browser speed seemed very fast
Obviously a lot still to do, but a nice start by Thor. I have alpha 7 ICS on my phone and I'd love to stock ICS on the a500. Not really into all the 'bells and whistles' that some devs like to do.

Color variations, primarily green
Widgets show cell widgets (obviously not needed) as well as the cell '4 bars' in the notification area
Browser speed seemed very fast
Obviously a lot still to do, but a nice start by Thor. I have alpha 7 ICS on my phone and I'd love to stock ICS on the a500. Not really into all the 'bells and whistles' that some devs like to do.

Wouldn't anyone else agree that working on 2 separate ICS builds is a bit counter-intuitive? It shouldn't be a competition to see who has the bigger you-know-what... Why not work together on a single ICS ROM. Put everyone's brain power together to release a single stable build. We've got hardware acceleration working on one, wifi on the other. Vice versa is still broken... It makes sense - just mash them together with what works! I understand it's "a little more difficult than that" but I'm sure there's a way to work together rather than go head-to-head.
Just my 2 cents. I'd contribute to the effort if I could, but this is the best I can say... Good luck devs!

Wooaahh. Slow down cowboy lol. That was in response to people saying Thor doesn't play well with other devs when he has a thread open so people could help get ics for the Iconia.

I totally appreciate the work of all the Devs here....but dude just comes across as a douche....like those guys who make all A's in college and look down on ppl just because he makes good grades and then turns around and refuses to help his classmates........

well I tried the open way just now... all the source was open but some douche reported my thread... since I had enough of a headache from working on ICS and from the first time I tried to convince the "mods" of anything... I have no "duty" call towards xda
so now I'm now back to "private dev mode"
And the douche who sent the report can be happy now... thinking he "won" something

Thank you for that. I understand that. But we all have a personal "duty" to each other here. I'm finally taking classes so that I can be helpful here. I dont feel like its my duty. But to be a productive member. I have to.

Any chance we could get milestone updates as you make progress? (even if its on your own site with comments disabled. By the way your site has got to be the most innovative I have seen the way it scales to the device) By the way what did you get reported for? The fact you didnt want random comments in the thread? What was it reported for? I was thrilled you'd gone back to the gpl-compliant route, I was looking forward to being able to use your work. Don't let an individual dissuade you from the open thing.

I'm not trying to force the Devs into anything, or try to pressure them, I've simply opened this thread to see who thinks that it would be a good idea, if anyone is offended by this post, or thinks that they should try to flame me for it, then basically, you can get F****d. I've got a lot of respect for the Developers of the Galaxy SII and I know and beleive that they have the right to both their own opinions and their own choice.
I was looking through Samsung Galaxy S III section of this forum, to see what's going on around there and in the development section members were talking about how the developers of the HTC HD2 all came together and built ROMs as a team and ported Android and Windows Phone 7 OS together.

Basically, what I was thinking, is why don't WE do that? have all or some of our developers work as a team to create something amazing? I know it's a long shot, but I think if it were to happen then I don't personally think that there will be many things that our phones won't be able to do.
If you guys could just post or vote on the poll with your thoughts/queries, I'd really appreciate it so I can get an idea of just how many people think it'd be something that we should or shouldn't do!

HD2 had WM6.5 and we have android
Porting android on it would have been easier than posting WP7 to our phone because android is open source and WP7 is closed

It a poll to tell the Developers to DO anything or give anybody any hope, as the opening post says, I just wanted to see how many people thought that it would be a good idea, not because I want to force any of this in the Devs faces, if they want to do it then I personally would love it, but like I said, I'm not trying to push them into anything, I have simply opened the post for my own purpose to see how many people think it would or wouldn't be a good idea

Btw, you may have omitted a "not" in the first sentence, unless you really are telling the devs what to "DO" (your capitals..).
My point is that since you're not telling the devs to do anything, what does the poll achieve?
For example, 300 people think it's a good idea. Then what? The same if 300 people say it's a terrible idea - so what?
As jj said, the devs decide, and they rarely post on this sub-forum.
A better idea would be for you to learn how to code & then either develop the things you'd like to see for the SGS2 yourself/with other developers in one of these 'teams', or link up with current devs & work on the projects they're currently involved with.

I have no girlfriend & I have a severe fungal infection on my scrotum which makes my balls itch incessantly. As a result, I scratch them quite frequently. Interestingly enough, I seem to be thinking of my phone whilst temporarily relieving the prickliness most of the time.
