So here is my story,
Couple days ago I found this my touch 4g and decided to check it out. I'm a HD2 user for a long long time and I can say is one of the best phones out there, especially with the support that it gets from this forum. I'm running HyperDroid-GBX-v12 on my HD2, again for a long long time , and I have unlimited data plan, which has worked fine so far, since from the beginning when it was originally a windows phone but when I placed my sim into MT4g I can't get any Internet connection through t-mobile, wi-fi working fine, even though the connection icon "H" shows active.
My MT4g is rooted and I'm running " Virtuous Unity v1.29.0" , but I had the problem even when it was running stock.
Any help wil be appreciated, thank you in advance !
same exact problem. any help?
Call T-Mobile and they'll fix it, I think it has something to do with the hd2 being a windows phone and the mt4g is android from the get go.

i also use Tmo and have tried tons of other roms but the best ones as far as day to day use has been the roms made by Motoman,... currently i have using his Glacier rom < aka MyTouch 4G rom> and its amazing. great battery life and fast connection without any data drops. he also comes out with updates pretty regularly.

Really stable build
I use Phiremod SkinnyEvo on my TMobile HD2 and could not be happier with it. No lock ups or "sleep of death". I have used this version for a while. I am currently going on 14 days straight days without having to do a phone reset with this build, all I do is keep the battery charged up. Prior to this reset I got 28 straight days of use without a reset and then only had to restart because my 4 year old daughter pulled the back cover and battery while she was playing the bird/pig game. This build is rock solid stable.
can i install miui and other rom to my tmobile hd2 or there are only specific roms that can be install on tmous version
Hello XDA community!
A couple months ago I flashed an MIUI Rom on to my Mytouch 4G. There was a known issue of the 4G symbol not working or something back then, but I wanted to try it out and I flashed it. I have since switched multiple roms but I am unable to get the 4G back. I am stuck on 3G, and sometimes even EDGE, at all times. It's been a month since I've used 4G, so you can imagine that I feel like my phone isn't being used to the fullest. Can anyone help me with this problem?
Just a thought. Did you check your data usage for the billing cycle? After 2gb, you're stuck in 3g until the end of the cycle. Just eliminating a possibility. You can check this easily on the free t-mobile my account app. Checka da market.
Nevermind. You said it's been multiple months. Sorry, I misread.

Try flashing a new Radio file. There are three of them in the development section of this forum.
You might need to try one or all of them out. Each one will act differently for everyone.

A lot of people has issues with the upgrade. I have a evo flashed to metropcs and I lost my mobile network. Other than that battery life is improved but sometimes screen is lagging, white htc screen takes to much time when i switch from application to home screen and camera app doesn't start sometimes till i restart the phone. so upgrade messed me up so bad too
well if you got it from here i am guessing its still rooted so i would say d/l a new rom and start over if your not rooted there not much you can do if you like stock rom use this one if not look for a different one

Gingerbread has made my "Smart Phone" essentially useless as a Smart Phone. It wasn't great with FROYO to begin with due to the interface resetting every time I used my web browser, but now after the Gingerbread update the damn phone resets after almost every app I use!
I'm on my way to the Sprint store right now. I use my phone for work and this is making it unusable for me. They at the very least need to get me back to FROYO, or it's time for an entirely different phone I suppose.
Lol cool let me know what happens with your phone and sprint i wanna take it in or call but i just havent really tried cus its software and sprint usually doesnt wanna do anything with it cus they wanna see the problem which is very hard to duplicate since the 2.3.3 starts to fail randomly lol

I had problems
I had issues with the internal clock not updating even though the sense clock read correct, constant white screens, this update should have waited a bit in my opinion.
The update bricked the CDMA radio so bad Sprint is now sending me another Shift which I should get tomorrow. This one will only do CDMA - 1xRTT and won't even go into CDMA - EvDo rev.A at all after the update. In fact, using the ##debug# dial code and selecting EVDO Engineering, this Shift reports '<Failed>' in every field. Even a Sprint network re-provision did not fix it. Since I pay the $7 per month replacement fee, I'm guessing that I should get a 'new' Shift vice a refurb hopefully. At this point I'll be happy to get EvDo rev.A back and live with the Sense reloads because 1xRTT is way too SLOW to do much of anything!
Another bug on it that annoys the sh$$ outta me is when u use the camera or camcorder it sets the brightness level all the way up.thats a reason my phone was getting kinda hot lol

So how on earth do you expect to make a phone call without actually being connected to something ? Without being connected to SOMETHING, then you're on your own, literally !
congratulations for making such a dumb thread as your first post without thinking a minute about it.

Congratulations on your first post. To appreciate your very useful post that can benefit the community, i have thanked your post. This is so that members can click on your profile, click on 'Find all thanked posts by betrayer0177 ' and view that wonderful post of yours. And oh yes, maybe you should start a new thread asking on 'How to make an Evo 3d from air'. Maybe your intelligence is spatial, so i will just describe how to make a call without a SIM. First, power up your phone(yes,in case u r asking-battery is needed),switch on your wifi(this is done via the touchscreen, not via some telepathic drugs) and install one of the apps in the link.(http://www.androidauthority.com/top-best-free-calls-android-phones-voip-19829/)...fiy,you have to download the app from the market.for example, for 'Fring',type in 'Fring' in the search bar using your hands, not your dickhead. Then install it. Use the app for your calls. And if you also dont have any wifi in your house, try to search for unsecured networks or tap on a public wifi.Good luck and once again, thank your for this excellent post. You have enlightened our day and wasted about 5mins of our lives.

Your best bet would be to pop into a T-Mobile store and ask for a Pay As You Go SIM to use with your phone. Use that to tide you over until you get your new phone.
Or use a landline!
Why not use snail mail?

well,i seriously admire you Dirk.Sorry for mine and a few others' damning posts, but clearly, this guy's request is like demanding a time travel machine. Its not possible in this world. He says he doesnt want to use any form of networks...wth!!...anw i helped by describing how to make free calls using wi-fi...if that doesnt cut it for him,i dont think anything will.but again, I hope he gets the point and uses something like Fring or a prepaid card.
As this has finally received a sensible answer....

Hey guys,
I'm sorry I have fully researched this, so feel free to flame me for it. But I'm strapped on time during my lunch break. I'm living in Germany and was using my T-Mo mt4g to make wifi calls with the US. That phone died mid use. I'm trying to find a phone in Germany that I can root and put wifi calling on. I found an HTC Magic available, which I understand is the same as the mt3g. Can anyone tell me if there is a stable ROM with stable WiFi calling? That would be all I use this phone for, and if someone can confirm a ROM that would work on the Magic with WIFI calling, then I will go after work today to buy it. Thanks in advance.

Weird! I have a MT4GS and a MT3G with Yoshi 1.5 on it.
While this isn't exactly what you are asking for, my MT3G with Yoshi 1.5 and the paid application "Groove IP" works extremely stable for me.
You will need a free Google Voice account and the $4.99 app Grove IP.
I assume you need wifi calling for calls back to the US.
Hopefully this works for you!
