Post counts isn't the point here also the way I see is that the more posting you have the higher the chances of you making an ass of yourself. In this case which is found to be true. I guess for the members like myself that has been here longer the June 2010 know that there is an EVO General sub forum. I have both and they each have their own charms

Why don't we just have a separate thread for people to 'say their goodbyes' or whatever... getting really annoying to see all these threads in the general section.
If you absolutely must let everyone know that you have sold your X10, great, just post in the same thread!! No need to start a new one

I don't think so....if that were the case he would have gotten another android phone. Anyways, guarantee when 2.1 drops for the X10 most people will regret selling/trading it away.

I think you misunderstood me. I hate having to see these kind of threads too, but people aren't going to stop posting that they sold their X10 (for some incomprehensible reason) so I just suggested that they all post in the same thread so we know to ignore it

Development Thread is Polluted!

Is it just me or is there WAY too many ROMs now? To be honest, options are always good, but it seems there are so many different ROMs being pushed out and that worries me. It seems the Development thread is getting polluted with all these roms. Most of them seeming useless, at least to me. But what do I know?
Note: Maybe I'm getting tired of waiting for TW

This thread is D.O.A. People complain when there's too little activity in the dev section, but I've never seen anyone complain about too much activity...
Just because TW is your favorite team, doesn't mean they should be the only ones posting roms.

This has got to be the most BS complaint the vibrant forum ever had. Well that's just what I think don't know about what the others will say.

I think its obvious that it was copied and pasted. Basically, a .RAR file is similar to a zip file - it's usually used either to compress a file so that it's a smaller download, and/or to pack multiple files into a single file.
The part that's more confusing to most people is Windows (or Mac, for that matter) has no built-in support for RAR files. For Windows, the solution I like is something called Peazip - it's a free download. For the Mac, Stuffit Expander will do the job (also a free download for just the Expander). Both can be found easily by googling them - I haven't posted enough times yet to be able to give the direct address for them.

I agree, the man is trying to help out the community and he gets slammed for it. I wish people on here were more laid back. This is community (free) rom development, lets try to act like were gratefull for this stuff and be more civil to each other.

The disclaimer was because I was posting a link and not the actual rom. I have seen many people post a tar for a stock rom. I posted a link to a stock rom and that was the difference.

now, as for this EF02, you guys think there'll be a rooted/custom version available by the end of today? Some ppl who have flashed this already say its really smooth, the only problem is thats its stock, so flashing it will rewrite our recovery image and break our CWM/current root I'm tempted to flash it, but then again, i dnt want to lose my SRF 1.1.1 without being able to restore back. so i'll wait

I disagree. One of the things that makes this forum so helpful overall is its heavy policing.
Other forums are a disorganized wild west, and you can't find anything without 5 minutes of sorting the good from the crap.
Was it warranted here? Maybe. Maybe not. As a general approach being nit-pickey douches about what goes where does help though. Few people do it twice.

So next time someone comes across a new leak they shouldn't post it until they customize it? No, I'm not buying in to that. And just because it is in the General section does not mean that it shouldn't be here as well. So.. without further turning this forum into a "disorganized wild west" (sometimes the police even need policing) how about we get past the forum etiquette discussion and move on to EF02.

I think its dumb you guys locked the ics thread. Regardless if it was drews actual post or not the whole point of android is do what you want and ics and a port and thread and comments and rants and what not is the whole point of forums like this. Hello nexus s development has not one thing on it about ics. That should seem odd. Maybe I need to fire up my nexus one. How can we progress if u take away the online progress. I understand the guy has his own site and what not but that was are only insight into ics on xda. And we use the only phone that's going to get it first . Stop being online nerds. And let people complain there going to do it anyways. And then its too complicated they way you want it. Every post is not going to to as nice a professional as a cm thread.
