Hello All,
Am new to HTC Android Phone. I have setup my contacts photos to be picked up from the respective Facebook Profiles. Although this happened the first time, if a contact changes the photo on facebook it is not getting updated in the phone? Is there a way to manually force an update??
Facebook sync is enabled (i guess once every 12 hours) and it has been several days since the contact updated the profile pic on FB.

I have the same problem, my contacts aren't updated >.<
Pretty annoying, but I have not found a way yet to fix it. Looks like a problem with facebook for android.
If anyone has more information, please tell us
It seems that the facebook sync method doesn't check if the facebook profile pic is updated or not. Probably to save network bandwidth and sync time. But it is kind of annoying that it is not updated.
I have exactly the opposite problem. The pictures assigned to my contacts in google keep getting updated with those in facebook. While I don't mind that for contacts that do not have pictures in Google, it is quite annoying for such that do.
i pressed the sync all widget and all my face book images updated
my legend is rooted and running the modaco rom tho

Strange that it works for you. Can't see how a root or new rom would change anything. I have the same problem, using stock unrooted rom. Kinda hoped it would be fixed with new update, but no luck

Where is this "sync all" button? I am not able to find it. Is it something specific to the rom?

I was also facing the problem of getting updated display pic from facebook and thought that there wasn't anyway to solve.. until after i ran into the FriendStream problem.
My FriendStream started acting strange and refuses to update friends' status today, it force closes when i try to launch the application proper. After reading up online, I did what others suggested, remove the facebook account and re-add it to FriendStream.. It got my FriendStream working again, plus a bonus - it "re-linked" with all my contacts in People and updated their profile pics! =D
Might take a while for it to fetch all the display pics again though, so I'd recommend doing it with a WiFi connection

my FB pictures don't updates, and worse, new FB contacts don't appear in my phone book. when I manually sync my FB account, there is a process that returns an error
the solution I found to force an update was to run friend stream, friends, facebook, menu, update
it takes some time

i know this is an old thread so hoping there was a better fix for this issue? terribly annoying
Doing a refresh in the friendstream app updates the photo in the app but not the contact photo
I have found no way to update the photos till now... have even tried unlinking the Facebook profile from the contact and readding - no use...

But I do hope that this gets fixed with a software update.

I am having an issue uploading a picture to my picasa album on fresh 2.1.2 (might be the same for all 2.1 roms).
In photos I select the picture to upload, then choose picasa, then it tells me to sign in to my google account. Even if I do re-signin it doesn't work.
Can anyone else replicate this? Is there a step I'm missing?
hi I just tired to upload a picture in picasa (first use of it)
and the SGT wants me to login in my gmail acc, did that and the login started again ... no way to upload anything
some experience with this?

I used to be able to sync my pics to Picasa in the gallery and view my Picasa pics with cm mod on my HTC magic. Is there a way I can do this on the DHD? I know you can sync Flickr but I don't use it.

same here, i use the picsa with the stock rom that come with my nexus, thats work like
cream with the stock gallery, and now i can't, so i use the Picasa in the browser...
It does seem weird that Picasa, a Google product, isn't supported, but Flickr is.
I use Pixelpipe to sync my photos to Picasa.
I was getting the same issue. It appears to be a problem with 2.2, not the handset.
The only way I found of getting around this was to do a hard reset (Settings> SD & Phone Storage > Factory data reset) and skip the Google sign in, then once I was passed all the set up data entry open Market and log in to Google form there.
Since then I can upload to my picasa account no problems.
a hard reset does not erase data on the SD card but it does on the phone so it might be an idea to back up your Apps to first.

I tried that before doing the factory reset but it didn't work.
sorry to hear that not sure why it doesn't word on your phone when it works on mine. I have included a screen shot of my google account on my Desire HD after installing the app showing the picasa sync option.

No, I got it working but I had to to doa factory reset and skip signing in to Google in the set up screens. I had the 3d gallery installed before this and I tried it but didn't work. Only reset and signing in to Google via Market got Picasa working for me.
Annoying how random all this can be...

Just thought that id mention that this is avilable in the market, there is also another good app called picasa tool pro (its free).
Gallery3d is simpler to use though.
I was missing Picasa Webalbums sync and icon in the Gallery HTC Desire HD. Synchronization of my gallery and Picasa did not occur.
This was the solution for me :
Go to the app HTC Hub (if not there, add HTC Sense to your Accounts and Synchronization). Then, go to Apps and Plugins. De-select the "Picasa Webalbums" plugin. Reboot. Go back to HTC Hub app and enable the plugin.
Solved.
My phone is synced with my facebook account but ever since I updated to 2.2 from ATT, if I try to update my status from My Contact Card or upload a picture via Facebook for HTC Sense, it doesn't work. Is there something I can do to fix it? Can anybody help me out?
