Why does my 32B think it's a 32A?

Continuation from my last post, I recently got a replacement 32B, and it came with the 1.6 donut on it. I used the gold card method to root it, and when I went to flash Amon Ra Recovery, the 32B version wouldn't flash, but the 32A would. I've got Open Eclair for 32A on it now, and I suppose that's fine, everything works, I'm just curious as to why it only wants 32A stuff.
Things I imagine you need to know:
32B MyTouch 3g (1.0, no 3.5mm jack)
SPL says 1.33.2005
radio is 3.22.20.17
Any help would be appreciated greatly!

Ummm it might b bcuz u have a 32A radio???

Okay, that would make sense. I'll research flashing the radio and I'll be back if I have any issues after that.

You probably had to flash your phone with a 32A because you had a perfected SPL. The next step would be to revert your phone back to a 32B. Follow the steps in this thread.

Stupid ROM Question.

Okay, n00b question here since I've never understood the deal with the MT3G 1.2...
its a Hybrid of a 32A and a 32B
Hboot says its a 32A but it runs on a 32B kernel...
So here is my question.
Will a 32B rom work on it ???
For example XM Froyo Sense 2.2 a G1 ROM.
or mus the ROM be patched/ported to run on the MT3G1.2 like the "old" SuperD Black?

install the new radio and hboot along with ezterry kernel
turn all animations off ^^

[Q] my touch 3g rom problems

so,1st i want to apologize if the answers im seeking were already posted but ive been searching the forum for some time an i could not find exactly what i needed..
here it goes:
i have an htc my touch 3g (t-mobile europe i guess) it came with froyo 2.2.1 but i wanted to instal cumstom roms so after extensive research ive manage to root it..donwgrade to 1.5 ,upgrade to 1.6 with hboot - 1.33.0013d and radio - 2.22.27.08 (sapphire pvt 32B ship s-on G)
now i kinda figured that i cand flash a 2.2 rom on a 1.6 or at least i think i cant..
I managed to get a few 1.6 roms to work(the most stable is dwangs s&s 1.11 stock rom) a few other worked but not that good..
my problem is: what do i need to get back to (at least)2.2
if posible please tell me what exactly i need to use to make it work..what radio/hboot..
sorry again if i was a true noob on my 1st post )

What SPL-info do you have now? And what ROM do you want: custom or official?

i want to use the cyanogenmod 6 or froyo yoshi / ginger yoshi

If you have custom recovery (AmonRa 1.7.0 G or ClockworkMod Recovery), then you just need flash gingeryoshi via it, cause your Info already matches with requirements. Wipe data/factory reset before process...
p.s. Custom ROMs contain only system and boot images. It is safe to change custom ROM. Even if you will flash incompatible custom Rom, your phone will not load, but recovery, hboot and radio will remain and you able to flash any other custom ROM.
In very rare cases devs include radio or recovery image in custom ROM, but it is exception. True devs don't do that.

i have RA 1.2.0G if i remember corectly i could not flash the 1.7.0..so why cant i flash the roms with 1.2.0?

just rememberd i tried to flash some time ago cm 6/fy/gy a couple of times and every time i got bootloop..could be because i have ra1.2.0G instead of 1.7.0G ?

come on guys,no one can give me some exact pointers?

Then get root (via SuperOneClick) and flash custom recovery 1.7.0 G
p.s. Probably, recovery 1.2.0 G has old install-method and not compatible with new format (tags "update script")

Do you have the right SPL/Radio? (Check post of Froyodragon)
32A or 32B, you chose the right Rom to flash?

i've 32b version with
Radio: 2.22.28.25
Hboot: 1.33.0013
I've downloaded Version 0.8.1 and used amon ra 1.7.0
when i flash Froyodragon, after vodafone screen it reboots automatically
or can you advise me a good and fast rom?

Version 8.1 doesn't work on 32B, try 0.7 instead.
That version should work.

i tryied with 0.7 too, same problem
in official thread is written "NOTE FOR 32B USERS: This ROM -works- for 32B ---BUT--- you have to flash an appropiate kernel for it to work, as the included one only works for 32A. "
where can i take this kernel?

Cyanogenmod 6 is unstable on HTC Magic 32A

Hey gents. My dad has had his Magic for a couple of years now and lately it's become quite slow using the official Roger 2.1 build. I offered to update it to whatever the community has created. I've never done this before so I started with Cyanogen mod. I basically followed the directions here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Magic_(32A):_Rooting_(6.35.x_radio) downgraded the radio, rooted the phone and installed recovery. I then installed Cyanogenmod 6.1 which is latest for HTC Magic (wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_version#MagicCM6). Unfortunately Cyanogenmod is very flakey. Everythign is quite slow and trying to access the Maps crashes the phone and so does trying to access the ROM Manager.
Here's the info the phone displays during fastboot:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A ENG S-OFF H
HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP50000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Should I upgrade the radio back to 6.35? Where can I find a stable 2.2 or 2.3 ROM? Is there anything else you guys can recommend?

i recommend carz android 2.3 rom for 6.35 radio
stable and fast.
but i have not tried the new rom's that emerged 'recently'

Maybe a noob question but what's the difference between carz recover and say Amon_Ra Hero recovery that installed during the rooting process?
