Froyo Hero Port

found this link today

could be promising. im getting a hero tomorrow. friend at telus doesnt like his.
It's already here
i had trouble finding it
getting my hero ... this morning i guess. late enough now lol.
cant sleep. too excited. burned (literaly. dont keep ur phone next to ur ash tray.) the screen on my vogue. so time to upgrade.
Not to discredit the dev of this port in any way, because a lot of people are working on Froyo, and many have got together, but don't plan to use a froyo port as your everyday ROM.
Nobody has got microphone working yet, which is a pretty fundamental part of a mobile phone. I think we are still on the hunt for a driver for the legacy stuff, but don't get too excited about running froyo just yet

Recommendations please Help

I just got the eris on the 20th of july. I had heard that HTC was really good but I have started running in to problems.
I rooted and I am using evil eris rom 3.0. I noticed yesterday that the awake button started not working after further investigation I noticed I could tap on the side and it would wake up.
Also just noticed today that was getting pretty hot and using the battery significantly. only lasted 5 hours.
I am considering returning the phone as I have 30 days.
Anyone have any Ideas
Search through the forums for specific problems you are having, then trouble shoot. Have you reflashed the ROM? Tried any others? Did you do a nandroid backup, if so have you tried a restore? The phone could be complicated so if you don't want to put in the effort id recommend returning it.

Did you ask your question in the Evil Eris thread ? Maybe others running the same ROM are having similar issues.
yeah, I tried two other roms for a short time I liked this one the best. At first I didnt have any problems.
Are you suggesting i wipe this flash then reflash it again.
Also are you suggesting I restore the original.
Ive been searching just Havent found anything yet.
I really would like some input on if you guys think I should work through this with the phone. Are these phones reliable and such I dont mind tweaking it a little to get it right. But I dont want to have constant problems
HTC does make great phones. However, you shouldn't base your opinion of the phone off of hacking into it and modifying it (especially being a less-than-a-week-old first-time HTC owner who hasn't done a lot of footwork to troubleshoot the issues).
Yes you should wipe and reflash the rom and see if that does anything. If that doesnt help, do a restore (supposing you did a back up). Also a lot of these roms are over clocked so the phone can get hot from using it a lot especially if its on the charger.
Since you rooted your phone, you have void your warranty. Basically if verizon decides to check the software builds and whatnot and discovers you have rooted, you might not get another phone. There are threads on how to unroot your phone, so I suggest doing that before you return it if you decide to.
Also I might suggest sense able 3.1 very stable rom

Hey bud thanks for the positive feedback. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I do really like the phone. You know all that power in such a small package. Thats the reason for these forums I believe so that we can help eachother.
Ill try that and see what happens.
I really hated my eris until i started using froyo based roms.. They are a bit buggy especially the camera but well worth the effort even if just for battery life. I went from 15-20% lose an hour to 5-8% unless i use alot of data.. then its more like 10-12%.

No problem. I'm no developer by any means so I just try to help others from my own experience. My way of contributing

Bingo
I loaded Sense-able and it seems to be working well so far.
Thanks for the help I'm sure Ill need some down the road

a little help please?

I used to switch roms constantly and always be messing with my epic. About 6 months ago I got to busy and havent been able to make any changes since.
The rom im running was a beta of something or another and is rather unstable at times etc.
Im leaving for vacation tomorrow and need to know the fastest and easiest way to get back to stock / a stable non touch wiz rom.
Im sure my clockwork etc are all way outdated to.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say either just odin back to stock for now (if you just want stable) or flash SRF 1.2. I know where you're coming from when it comes to going on vacation, so I suggest either of those two would work just fine.

Flipside available

I finally got out if this dreaded miserable phone to the outstanding atrix. Im going to be flashing stock froyo back to it after I get everything I need out if it. If anyone is interested in it, let me know. Haven't set a price yet but this is what ill include: phone, 2 authentic moto flipside batteries, cable, charger, manual and box it came to me in. Ill have to look thru my mem cards to see if I can include one of those as well. Would be great for those developers that want to have a backup device to tinker with.

PlatinumPeguin Rom Testers Wanted

Well guys I have been talking about this for some time now and have finally taken the time to redo the build scripts for cyanmobile to give us a tablet version. I have removed all the drivers and calls for the drivers of wimax, 3g, 1x, and cell service. This will still have bluetooth and wifi but none of the cell features will be present of usable. Phone and mms apps have been removed. I still have to go through the code and remove the options in the menu's but that wont be too hard (I hope).
Now on to the reason I am here. I am looking for users to help test out the new build. I need users who can give me good logs and detailed information about the issues that are happening. Also if you can use adb (push, pull, and shell are important) it will be a plus. Most fixes will require you to push files and set the permissions. This will keep the large uploads/downloads to a minimal and should help speed up the development time required to get this out to the rest of our faithful evo users.
Thanks for everything.
Without the help and want of our fellow users there would be no new roms.
This Platinum is for you!! LOL!
EDIT: I am testing first build now. If no major issues test links will start going out monday morning.
I'm here for ya James.
I will try it once I root my device this weekend

Umm not sure what you are talking about here.
Update: I did the first build and it had massive issues and have not had a chance to get back and start working on it. Between the normal CyanMobile and my other projects PP is kind of on the back burner till I can get something else out of the oven so I have room for it.

Excuse my vaqueness I was half awake. I was talking about the HDMI stuff for cyan mobile. As far as this ROM I think the fellow members can be patient. I should have another EVO in about a week so I can help and test with whatever I can.
