Interesting.
I wonder if the issues were just with the Nexus S or all Android phones using Wimax.
(Which would then bring the question on whether some of the low 4g performance was truly the network or if it was Android itself)

Full wipe from RC1 or just dalvik and cache ok?

I wiped everything, boot system dalvik and cache, except data and it works just fine.

for those of you who flashed it and have 4g coverage. have you noticed any improvement?

the only piece of 4G improvement involved a new radio for the Nexus S. pretty sure it had nothing to do with actual Wimax in 2.3.5, just that the OTA for the NS4G included a new radio along with the 2.3.5 version upgrade.

Agreed..........

Just installed this coming from rc1, 4g is working fine and I even got 4g speeds using built in tether.

The only issue I've noted is the signal strength for 4G doesn't seem to be working. Internally it says I have excellent signal strength, I am streaming, etc. but the meter is showing zero bars.

Same here, I thought it was strange that the notification wasn't showing strength.

Thanks for trying to be helpful, but we do have a cm7 nightly thread for a reason. No real need to start a new post.

Its been like that for me for awhile now which makes me have to switch to another rom cause I dont want to have to watch my phone and see if I turned off the screen..

First of all people had already been posting about this nightly in the nightly thread. Second, the nightly thread is already in the general forum. The wrong doing is that it is redundant and wasting space.

[KERNEL][GINGERBREAD] Javelin #10

BTW guys, I won't be concentrating on development this week, and possibly for a while. My grandfather recently got diagnosed with brain cancer and I haven't had a lot of time on the computer (on the phone, yes. I'm on twitter a lot). Don't worry though, I'll get back on it soon
Here it is guys, the kernel you've never heard about. If you're a battery fanatic, this is the kernel for you. With a max clock of 800 MHz and a HZ of 100, this kernel will give you the best battery life you've ever had. Coupled with the optional Undervolting via Xan's Voltage Control app (download here, you're going to be getting a day or two out of this one. Seriously. Its really battery efficient.
You've also got BLN, Voodoo Sound v7, and xcaliburinhand's car dock fixes.
To those of you worrying about speed sacrifices, let me tell you, the tradeoff is worth it. You're getting several extra hours of battery life for a slightly reduced Linpack score. Trust me. It's worth it.
Disclaimer: This will eat your babies
Actually, I'm not responsible for any damage this kernel might do to the space-time continuum (or your phone)

Anyone else getting FCs when launching the web browser?
i hate sense, is there any way to kill it with froyo? i like the look of the stock ui better.
Only option is to download a 3rd party launcher like ADW or LauncherPro. Deleting the Sense launcher would cause a bunch of problems considering the framework depends on Rosie if I'm not mistaken.

I agree; the thread title is pretty clear as to the topic of discussion.
Loaded it on the wife's Slide. Download speeds from HTC were truly absurd; took 3 hours to get the necessary files. I flashed chiefz version of this when I was still using the Slide ... I found the leaked ROM to be sluggish compared to 2.1 stock; I've found the 2.2 official update to be virtually identical to chiefz version - a bit sluggish. I definitely like having the wireless "hotspot" on her un-rooted slide; helps to share our two 5gb data plans wirelessly. I tried to move a few large apps to sd (Froyo a2sd) and apps that should be able to be moved were not able to be moved and I'm unsure if that's due to not having root. HTC sync and bluetooth have turned on by themselves after I disabled them in settings ... very odd. My wife doesn't seem care one way or the other but I'm a root user so I have a different take on things. The bottom line is it keeps the system as it always has been and adds some useful features. It appears some bugs were fixed from the release notes but I have a suspicious feeling a whole new set of bugs may crop up. With all the time that has passed I believe HTC could have done a better job. Hoping the wife is is happy with it because I will never hear the end of it if she prefers the old stock ROM. Fingers crossed ...

Pretty nice. The swipe transitions on the launcher home screen are laggy. The power widget backlight button had a resize issue (not that its needed with the notification bar widget). Animated home screens do not work. Camera still FCs on double tap. GPS, Phone, SMS work.
navigation does work on this rom for me it starts and minutes later loses gps singal and never picks back up

Tried out the latest nightly last night. The honeycomb lockscreen is pretty sweet, but I'm having the same problems with GPS wherein it will acquire a lock, then lose it completely 10 minutes later. As I depend on GPS, this makes it a no-go for now.
I'm looking forward to seeing any progress you continue to make on this, nice job!

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy! I have had weird issues with the XDA app for over a year, doesn't seem to get updated too frequently...
Anyways, now that I'm in front of a computer, I can upload.
EDIT: I did run the 3g Turbo Charger script from zeppelinrox too, so I hope that means that the script is working! I didn't run it bone stock, then after the script too (you know, like you SHOULD do, DOH!)... Maybe I'll undo it, try it, then just redo it...
The first test (on the left) I tested my wifi too, which wasn't performing too good last night.
The second test in the one from Madison, I was receiving a text during that one, so I think(?) that's why it's so low compared to the others...

That is a pretty good question. I think results would be more conclusive if we identified what radio version AND prl version we used at test time. Ill update my op with my infos.
I test mine often.

Ok, updated the OP with the new test with the updated PRL: 52608. This PRL seems unstable so far. I have better ping, upload is better but download was reduced dramatically. The new download speed is not normal for me. Also the phone does not completely connect to data anymore. It partially connects but does not FULLY connect.

Just updated my prl, and your right very unstable. Hard to keep a 3g connection now. Keeps bouncing back and forth between 3g and 1x. Wish i hadnt updated it. Anyone on the previous prl still that knows how to pull it?

I am working on Lollipop.
There is a link to Marshmallow.
I will return to Marshmallow as soon as a few more things are added.

Internal yes, external no....maybe with format but I'll find out tomorrow. M8 doesn't recognize just like hima when in android
Pumped to see this. Been a huge fan of AICP since my Desire HD days.
Does Dialer force close when attempting to make calls?
Edit: Yep, it does. Dang it.
Nice! One of my favorite ROMs thanks for bringing this to the m9... Only issue I've been having is camera issues ,aicp force closes from time to time & the time at the top gets stuck every now and then
I tried it and found Android 6.0 is having issues with my PC, not recognizing my SD Card, not even the Internal SD !!! :S I know it is pure Super fast but i cant live without connecting my phone to PC.
Also I tried to flas Gapps just after installing MM (not reboot and with Aroma) and the installation freezes, so im stuck with pure Android no Google Apps, so I did return to Lollipop VipeOne 3.5.0 with a full backup made with TWRP.
Yeah, sorry. I have reverted back to Aicp Lollipop. I have a few kernel changes and got the battery life closer to the m8 but a whole hell of a lot snappier.

Nice to be able to send mms on cricket wireless after setting up my apn no other asop based builds allow that. Everything else works great besides LTE. Signal bar shows H+ in an area I know I normally get LTE but if my sd card n Bluetooth along with mms is working I'm freaking happy thank you for this beautiful rom well done when I get some extra cash I would love to donate!

Just flashed MM 20151205 and couldn't get passed the initial boot.
It started giving me force closes for phone and system! Homepage was empty and nothing to see.
Isn't this rom for himaul or am I missing something?
