Is it just me and my DVP or is this across all windows 7 phones.? I am unable to "share" any videos i take to either facebook or email.
Is this me or is it across the board?
across the board. apparently sharing videos takes too much bandwidth so its disabled for now. you have to sync it with your PC first and share the videos from there.

In my opinion the bandwidth I use is my bill and no one should have the right to tell me otherwise. Is there a fix for this somewhere in windows? It should be just a registry edit??
Havent heard anywhere that video sharing was disabled due to bandwidth. Anyway its coming in Mango, upload to Skydrive (not sure about Facebook but could probbly be implemented).
nope even with Mango, i still can't upload to anything, the only option i get is delete.
MS has already stated video uploads are coming with Mango, remember you are using an early beta, not final. http://anythingbutiphone.com/3637 http://windowsteamblog.com/windows_...07/new-skydrive-features-coming-in-mango.aspx

Has anyone got this feature working?
I know it isn't a listed handset, but I'm sure it must be compatible, as it does accept streaming media...
I follow the instructions which says to find the "Mobile TV" tab in T-Zones, but that tab doesn't show on my browser in either Opera or PIE.
Has anyone got this, *OR ANY* TV thing working.... to a watchable level...
Mobile streaming TV....blah!!

Yeah I got it working. I used at least 2 different apps, but to be honest, it wasn't worth the effort unless you want to watch strictly news channels or foreign documentaries at snails pace.
Even with wi-fi or HSDPA, the speed of the streams is simply below average IMHO, let alone picture quality.
I've downloaded the BBCNews24 bulletin from the BBC website whilst on the train to London, which was pretty cool, but kinda OTT just to see what was happening. Not tried it with normal telly, but the other thing to watch is, depending on what tariff you're on, you may struggle to get streaming to your Ameo via 3G. There's a thread elsewhere on the forum about T-Mobile woe's with streaming and IRC and how they're locking it down for people who arn't entitled to ie (i.e. those not on WnW+ or WnW Max).
Anything in the TV Guide realm that works on the Rhodium?
I have TV Guide Mobile made by Handmark but the interface is not finger friendly and the channel listing isn't exactly up to date. For example, not too long ago Comcast in the Bay area added Setanta Sports to their lineup, channel 300, but I cannot find that in the listing.
I can circumvent that by selecting DirecTV as the provider, but another limitation is that the app has realtime data downloads rather than a daily updated guide.

I too would love this! I don't even care if it uses realtime data, although daily update would be better.
TV Guide Mobile is no longer available for download.
Here it is...
the initial setup screens are a little screwed up mostly due to the different resolution. But you'll figure it out. Everything is changeable in the setup menu later anyway.
But you'll see that the realtime data is a bit of a pain, not to mention really not finger friendly. The nice thing is that it works on regular and panoramic screen formats.
There is always Zap2It for US listings.
I use a Program called Sage TV at home for a whole house A/V distribution system and it has a webserver plugin that I can get my guide data from. It even allows me to schedule recordings to watch when I get home and when I used to record in MPEG2 SD I could even stream recordings and live tv from my house to my WinMo phone over 3G. Unfortunately I am now recording everything in H.264 and usually HD so it won't squeeze thru my limited upload bandwidth.

Thanks!! Does it have digital channels? The one I had previously did not, which is why I stopped using it.
it seems to me that this is another one of thoes north american programs that dont work any where else...
...confirm my suspicions...!
does anyone have any history with this app? I downloaded it because I was looking for a way to quickly blog pictures and videos i take while out. I downloaded the cell spin app b/c it does that with a ton of services. Everything is fine except I can never get it to show the videos I have taken. It never finds them, and I even switched the format a few times. Anyone who has used this program got any tips?
I've never used that app, I use Qik for that type of thing, it's free and looks like the same exact idea.
Are you sure the app is pointed to the folders the videos get saved to? Some apps require you to manually tell them where to find stuff like that, especially if it's on the SD card.
i do use qik for streaming video, but this is different. This is more of a blogging tool. I should be able to update videos and pic to my blog, but it cant seem to find any of my videos. I ded just see that this phone is not officially supported on their site though

Yeah, looking over that list of supported phones, it looks like they gave up on winmo development quite a while ago...it looks like some of those are WM 6.1 devices, I don't see any that run 6.5, so that may be the issue.
I haven't used those features, I just thought qik could upload existing videos from your phone to most any blogging site (I know it can do it to their own site...you can pick stored videos instead of a live stream).
true. I was looking more for an all in one blogging platform. I'm using the livejournal app now,its coll but still very buggy.
As the title states, suggest away.
direct sync to outlook .pst

Jesus, how many times is this going to be brought up? The function is NOT there, and it was known BEFORE any device came out. Quit the *****ing and get a phone that supports it, or move on.
Anyways, I'd like a good sports app like Sportacular that has notifications when games start, during and after with the scores. Fantasy updates with custom rosters would be great too.
Not sure what the SDK will let you do, but is it possible to develop an app that can be pinned to the start page, that toggles 3g/wifi/bluetooth? I know we can just drop in to the Settings menu, but I would pay for an app that put those three in one easy place.
I would also like an app that rotates, like a slideshow I guess, all sorts of images from the various Xbox games I've been playing across the tile. That would look cool on the start page. Maybe it does a Bing image search to find the images to rotate, etc. I'm not a developer, but it was something I thought of earlier today.

this is comming in dec development almost done..
The direct sync with outlook is not possible with the WP7 SDK. That would have to be incorporated into the Zune sync software. The WP7 is meant to be a cloud device so I don't see this coming anytime soon.
The idea about toggling the radios is also not possible im afraid. The SDK does not give developers any direct access to the hardware like that. Hell, we can't even adjust the volume.

That really blows. Just thinking about what various iPhone and Android apps can do easily, it seems this platform is much more closed than even iPhone's. The key to both Android and iPhones success has been as much the developer community as it has been the solid hardware the apps run on, maybe even more so the developers. The new WP7 hardware seems solid enough so far. If MS doesn't open up the SDK to a greater array of components, this will just continue to lag behind, even fall farther behind.
...Hoping someone can cook up some nice WP7 ROM's
ability to take any music file and assign it as a ringtone!

There's already one in the Marketplace for free. You have to have the YouTube app installed to use it, but it allows for searching, etc. from within the App.

This is supposedly coming in January according to reports this morning. See: http://www.wpcentral.com/rumor-january-firmware-update-wp7-include-custom-ringer-support-more
(Sorry, forgot to multi-quote.)
not sure if you can make do this or not, but I would like to be able to connect to hidden networks. Also be able to use the device as a wifi router.
Could it be made downward compatible? It would be nice to be able to run some of my already-purchased software.
As an alternative, the single-largest bummer of making this switch for me will be loss of the two coolest apps I have EVER had – “Pocket Earth”, and “Pocket World” by Bluepoint Studios. These apps, especially Pocket Earth, were stunning! I don’t know their status, but if you could buy the rights and the code and somehow rewrite them for WP7, I suspect you would do very well.
I need programs which are NOT web-dependent. Dictionaries, translation programs, an atlas, etc. which are device-based. Traveling internationally is where one needs the language converters and I work a lot on the plane. I’d prefer to give up space in the device than to continually pay for international data.
Best of luck,
Dave

A recorder...
There are a few out there, but I need it to either have voice activated start/stop, or stop/start control from my bluetooth. I am a sports photographer, and if I can describe what is on a picture that I take right after I take it, it is much easier to do my captioning when I get home. But I don't have time to take the phone out of my pocket and start/stop after each play.
It seems a lot of the suggestions are things to do with hardware. The only hardware access the SDK gives developers is the GPS, Accelerometer, and the radio. We don't even have direct access to the camera. (When an app takes a picture, it opens the camera app then sends the taken picture back to the app).

Will we ever be able to watch high quality youtube vids over 3g. Now you have to be on wifi. I know on iphone the vids are HQ over 3g.
1) Something that bypasses Exchange-enforced password entry. Android has it; and frankly, PIN enforcement is a meaningless layer of security that does nothing more than inconvenience the end-user.
2) Something that let's you copy synced Calendar entries and Contacts to the Phone instead of forcing them to exist in the stupid cloud. <--I would pay good money for this. Again, something that Android let's you do that I like.
Edited to Add:
3) An app that keeps the phone on and unlocked. I don't like this forced lock/timeout thing, I'd prefer to have complete control of when it is locked and when it isn't.
1) A Remote Desktop Application compatable with MS's current RDP services
2) Something that periodically rotates the Logon Screen Picture
3) Something that would quickly display Battery Life, Used/Remaining Storage, etc...

no not yet, i suspect it will have to be an MS feature as all apps are isolated from the OS and other applications.
there are several ways of transfering pictures, MMS, Email, sky drive, but your correct, a BT transfer would be useful and is something that will probably get added over time
No, i expected it to be a feature of mango update, but alas MS doesn't seem interested in it!

give them time, they need to learn to walk before they can run, or perhaps crawl before they can walk is more approperate
anyhow, it is a very good feature from seveal points of view, i just suspect they are focusing on the bigger issues, Mango is a major change remember, its not just a few app updates and a couple of new features, pretty much everything has been fiddled with!
Anyone know if they will be introducing BT File transfer in Mango OR the ability to download files from the web and save them to your device?
Example: I go and download some mp3, the phone will stream it and play it but it will not save it to the device for playback in zune later.
