i only have one battery if nothing else works i may buy a new one...

Remote the battery, plug in and turn on the charger. Wait for a while and put the battery back into the phone.

more than likely a dead battery, had this a few times, but it can be a faulty handset, its getting kinda hard to defend the x10 as much as i adore it, iv had 3 brand new x10s in 4 months thank the lord for warranty, feel sorry for the other 20 million people with dead x10z!

Battery life?

Hey guys a friend of mine got this phone about 3 weeks ago and is having some serious battery drain. Like from fully charged to the red in about 3 hours with minimal use. I told her to take it back and get another one. What I would like to know is if this is normal for this phone or just luck of the draw and got a defect. Thanks and apologize if this was already posted or is in the wrong place.

You can go under settings>about phone>battery>what's using battery and see what the highest percentage of use is. That may narrow it down to an app or android process causing the drain. Is the phone rooted or unrooted?
Unrooted completely stock and the screen eats about 97%of the battery. I dropped the brightness to its lowest level disabled wifi and everything else I could think of but the battery life really had no improvement

Desire HD randomly turns off

After a couple of hours laying out in the sun, it turns itself off whenever. Could happen ater couple of hours uptime, or in the middle of a call right after its turned on. Is the battery the problem? Thinking of buying a cheap battery from ebay and testing. If not, what could be the problem?
ps: This is my friends phone, he just bought Sensation, so I could get his phone for nothing.

If the phone is still under warranty ask your friend to get it fixed by HTC! It could be the battery or something you can't get to without voiding the warranty.

Thanks for the tip. He bought it like 6 months ago, so it has some scratches and stuff, but other than that it looks alright. Does this matter? Dont think he got the recipt from the store he bought it from, will this be a problem for sending it in to htc?

Just contact HTC directly then mate! Explain the problem and hopefully they'll sort it! Might be without for a few weeks but its worth it for a working phone! And scratches shouldn't matter

I think I will just tell them that during these summertime, i find the phone VERY hot when using it. Not that it was left alone in the sun for two hours I guess the problem is overheating anyway
Have a look for an app to monitor temperature on the market! And yeah tell them that lol! Good luck and post back and let me know how you get on!

My condolences But you could just replace the USB port. You can find one very cheap on ebay.
This has happened to me . The usb in the phone has come loose and won't charge.
I thought of fixing it myself but didn't want to **** my phone up. So I found some mains battery chargers from eBay and they are working really well . Charges my batterys well and had no problems in a month now .
The chargers were only 4 pound . So not to bad and you can get a battery with them too but pay a little more .

Apparently, Samsung has a huge mess on their hands..
Many GT-i9300 s3 have Charge fault problems..
Charges for 6 seconds then stops...
I have tested the accessories on a perfectly working S3 with Passing results...
So its the phone it self...
Any solution?:fingers-crossed:
Is this going to be the same equivalent problem like the Famous RIM Blackberry 9900??:crying:

Hey. I-9300 here not charging with low battery.
Changed the battery for new one.... nothing changes, not charging.... I charge through a battery charger.
Changed USB cable for other in good state..... again nothing changes...
Rebooted the phone n times, and not charging....
No warranty because is second hand bought.....
I have observed that if you let the phone conected to the charger, when its battery runs out... then... it begin chargin in powered of mode... strange thing....
Any idea????

Does built-in battery irk you?

I used to have Sensation. Good piece of hardware inherited by my wife had removable one. Working outside I used to swap batteries. Now I'm forced to use external battery what is awkward.
I know many people don't care about it, but why they make life more complicated? Besides that I love my nexus

Not as much as someone who posts a thread, thats been done to death, and should have searched and found the thread regarding batteries to post in.
I get 5-6 hours screen time on a full charge, so no, it doesn't bother me.
Ordered a phone with a non-removable battery and when it came, guess what? It had a non-removable battery. I am utterly shocked and disgusted with Google. I just don't know how I will cope with this.
Coming from RAZR with non removable battery so doesn't bother me.

I don't care. first phone without it.
If it becomes an issue for whatever reason I'll start caring.
I'm kind of irked by it as I've had to pull the battery to unfreeze a phone on many occasions.
My Nexus S hasn't been that frequently, only twice in a year or so, but our Sensation 4G seems to need it 2x a month.
Will be sad if the N4 needs it... I guess I'll just wait for the battery to die and hope the screen doesn't burn.

There's only 2 screws holding the back cover on, so i'm sure 3rd party batteries will be popping up on the interweb eventually.

Yep, holding the power button down for 10 seconds is even stated in the manual
Coming from phones that had removable battery's that I never actually removed... I'm not bothered at all!
Besides, it's not 'technically' non-removable, if such a time comes that I need to replace it, I can, without ****ing my phone up.

had 2 iPhones previously so non-removable battery is no issue for me. same with no SD card (i saw this as a luxury on my GS2).
Only thing i would like is authentic LTE and a more sensitive touch screen.

Other people explained, that's what I was talking about. On the N4 its pushing down the power button for x seconds, on the HTC One series its the same.
On the iphone its home+power for x seconds
Simulates a battery pull, which is cutting off all power to the device
