Hi,
I tried to install "TyphooN CyanogenMod 7" following the clean installation tutorial written by "unsinkable2". The post is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
After running steps 1, 2, & 3 my phone rebooted and now it doesnt come of the initial splash screen (white background with green htc logo).
Is there a way of recovering my phone or has it been bricked ???
Previous to my unsucessful try i had installed Artemis ROM following the instructions detailed in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
Any help for a total newbie will be greatfully apprciated
Try entering bootloader (vol down and power on button) when starting the phone, then flash a stock ruu.
I highly doubt you have bricked your phone

Phew. That worked.
Thught i'd lost it for a few hours then.
Thanks for the quick response

Tried : HOME+POWER, HOME+POWER+BACK; POWER+VOLDOWN

Hey anyone can help me?
Maybe unmodified Magic cannot run updates? Have a look at the "Sapphire android development" forum for the "daldroid" custom rom or others
Just a follow-up to my above post:
My reasoning comes from this post:

From reading the procedure of successfully flashing another ROM, it looks like you need a recovery image first.
Hi, need expertise help here.
Had attempted to root and install custom rom but ended up having the phone stuck in splash screen.
What was done prior:
1) root using universal and root
2) flash clockworkmod using rom manager
3) attempt to backup current rom and then it got stuck in the situation mentioned
I had attempted power + vol down & also power + back on startup but nothing seems to help....
One thing I notice is that if I just press home or end call button, the screen will shows clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.1 at bottom right...
I had looked thru some similar threads but some seems applicable only to T-mobile.
The magic i have is unlocked version, using it in Singapore.
Any advice??? Thanks in adv..
Did you previously have stock 2.2 installed? I had this problem on my wifes mt3g and had to downgrade the radio to stop the bootloop.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Hi what radio did you down grade to? I'm on 2.22 with my wifes mytouch3g and I'm in a boot loop.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Oh mine is the first htc magic, think not mytouch3g , hm...mine is on android 1.5 with htc sense

brother, search this forum and you'll find out that clockworkmod has done same thing to many Magics like it did to yours!
no help for you except hard flash / circut board change!

I got my HD2 only five months back, and it's a TW version flashed with HK official rom release. It worked well until official 3.14 rom has come. I flashed the 3.14 HK version rom and when restart, it stuck up at first boot screen(HTC LOGO). After reset it cannot enter the OS any more and only go to the bootloader. I tried flash all kinds of roms and every time flash was success but it still goes to bootloader directly. Finally I took MTTY and without luck my HD2 got bricked after executing some "task ". It would't turn on at all. So I think it is totally bricked and took it to JTAG repair. The strange thing is, when it is fixed with JTAG and it will boot into a completely white screen(no htc logo). After many times JTAG fix still only white screen.
Anybody can help me with the problem and tell me what happened to my HD2, any luck it can be revived?

Only bought the phone yesterday so im a little anxious. ive tried resetting settings by holding the 2 volume buttons down while i press the power button but that didnt do anything. any help appreciated.
UPDATE: ok ive managed to flash a stock rom onto the hd2 and got it working again. ive upgraded to the latest o2 uk rom. but id stil like android on the device. Does anyone know why magldr might have crashed the phone? the phone is locked to o2 so is that a problem?

What are the steps have you done? Basically flash HSPL to root your phone. Then flash MAGLDR. After these two you can start going to build to pick the ROM to flash.
i went back to the beginning and did everything again - i hadnt updated my radio version, which is why it was getting stuck. but the second time round everything seems to have worked fine - i now have boyppcs gingerbread rom installed. my advice to others - always READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. now if only i could work out how to get that cool 3d effect on the homescreen
dont have a clue how to use magldr
How do you work it?

Help - frozen HD2
Hi
as per nextman6515, my HD2 is stuck on the o2 screen and despite numerous hard resets, it will not go beyond the 02 screen, I cannot get to the multi-colour screen anymore (volume up and power), I cannot get the phone recognised on usb or windows activesync, does anyone have any advice on getting my phone to work again, all advice will be gratefully received.
thanks

into bootloader
connect usb lead
ignore the red bit about activesync, so long as it says usb at the bottom of the screen in bootloader, it is fine.
flash a magldr compatible radio (look it up!)
Once magldr is working, you will need to go into activesync and untick 'allow usb connections' ((or maybe thats only for windows mobile device center, , anyone?)) before you can then start using usb for android based flashing.
done.
