Just curious, I was noticing on one of the "Update" threads that someone had a A500 bought in the US but was living in NZ, and he recently got the OTA .42 update - my question is directed to anyone who has traveled with their A500 internationally - has your device received a local OTA, then OTA when you got home?
As I'm off to Perth in about a week I'm wondering if I should be turning off auto updates (or at least rejecting any AUS update I get while in country)? Will there be any functionality issues (GPS maybe?) if you take your US A500 into a different country and stay on your US update?

So I'm a US citizen currently doing a lot of work in India. I'm planning on going back to the US in a few days and I'm gonna get a N1. My question is, suppose I'm in India when a new update or something from HTC or Google comes out, would I be able to update my phone from India( since the phone is not launched here yet)? the reason I ask this is because I have gone to the google page to order the N1 while in India and it says that my country isn't supported for N1 sales... wouldn't want to see that happen when I want to get a new update for the OS... what do you guys think?
Previous Android updates for the G1, for example, have been downloaded from google servers. You phone should check every so often to see if there's an update and download it if it's available. Your location shouldn't matter although I'd make sure you didn't do it over 3g/gprs if you are roaming internationally due to the cost - do it over wifi.
First of all I'd check to see if the frequencies used in India are supported by the device.

Hi there,
I am interested in the A501 as I need a 3G connection. I wrote to the Acer Support in Germany and they just said that the release was put back but they make a secret out of a possible release date.
So, I am really angry and thinking about buying another device. However, before I do that, I wanted to know if you guys have some more information about when it will be available in Germany or Europe or even somewhere else in the world.
Thank you!
I live in New Zealand and I just bought one yesterday. So it's available here.
Samsung Galaxy S I9000T

you can buy an Acer A501 in France it's available since almosts 4 weeks... I assume there are no compatibility problem between French and German release
It's already available at amazon germany.
Hope this isn't a noob question, I ain't touched android flashing in detail for a few years.
I have an LG G2 handset which I bought in mainland China (where I live), but is from Hong Kong as the G2 was never officially released here.
Anyway, I have got a 4G/LTE sim for it and as I expected, it doesn't work, just gives me 3G and after a quick google it seems other users have had success by flashing a rom specific to the region they will use the phone in. I have tried the 2 star/hash codes but neither seemed to work
Does anyone know my best option since I live in a region that doesn't have an official rom as such (although g2-lg.com seems to say theres a beijing rom)?
anybody throw me a few bones?! Getting desperate here!
I bought my S8 few weeks ago and it is still stuck on Nougat with December security updates. It is Polish distribution and from what I heard they are getting Oreo for a few days now, but mine still nothing. Not even newer security updates. Is it possible that my updates are somehow blocked if I don't use phone in Poland?
It could be worse, you could be with EE in the UK who are famed for being one of the slowest operators in the world when it comes to software updates.

My phone is due for delivery at some point today and i was hoping to flash the UK BTU firmware to it straight away so I get futute updates quicker but noticed people saying they can't change CSC but that seems to be from people in the US. Anyone know if this will work with our Exynos phones?
