Shop there's a new icon in the tray...i don't know what it's for. Between the green battery and the clock is an icon that looks like a battery standing up straight with a check mark in it. What the heck is it?

Double check if you have an alarm set...
It's the new alarm set notification, it confused me the first time I saw it as well. If you go into your app drawer you will see the new Alarm & Timer icon looks the same.

Today my notifications are not showing up. Only battery, wifi, clock and keyboard show up, but thats it in the bottom part.
I restarted a couple of times, and try to find something in the settings... no luck.
Anyonw have the same problem?

Are your notifications off? You can see in the quick settings.
Thanks so much man... duh! Was right infront of me!

No problem. Glad to help!
Hi fellow XDAers
I wonder if there is any app or mod that can make me choose what notifications should always show on top?
I have a weather app that shows the weather as a big notification (4x2 I believe). Problem is that whenever another notification pops up the weather notification gets pushed down and shown as a smaller version. I would like to choose the weather as prioritized so it always stays on top.
Thanks

Sv: Notification priority
I don't know of any mods or apps.
Try Xylon ROM, it has that very feature built in to it. Maybe other ROMs do as well. You can then find it under the ROM settings>> lockscreen.
*Edit *
Sorry. Misread your problem. Sorry, I don't know of any such mod or app. But it would be handy indeed.

From time to time my N4 alerts me with a sound, but when I check the navigation bar, I don't see anything in the list. When I look into the notification list through the notifications widget, I fail to find anything there either. This happens even when the phone is in sleep mode with WIFI off. What are those mysterious notifications?
Try using the Settings shortcut widget, select notifications and now you have a notification area.
I am not sure if it just works if a notification appears in the notification bar but it is worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion! That's exactly what I checked before as I mentioned in my original post:

Any other suggestions?
You can try going into applications checking if they use notification sounds which you do not need.

Just a random (but important) question: why do I get Quick Settings page as my default when I pull the notification bar down? Shouldn't it be the notifications page? And how do I change it? Running OmniROM 4.4.2 Nightly (26/1/2014)
You should only have quick settings when swiping down from the upper right corner. You can change this under settings -> notification bar. If it's happening generally when swiping down i don't know. Sorry

So you have the smart pulldown enabled?

Yup you're right, but is there any way to change that? I don't see any settings related to that.

Nope.

KitKat came in on my OmniROM, running on my Note 2.

And you are sure you don't have quick pulldown enabled (Not the same as smart pulldown!)? It's in settings -> bars. That's the only thing i can think of...

as my experience if you pull/drop notification from right you got quicksetting mode and if you pull/drop from left you got notification mode

After rooting and trying to install xposed, without much luck as I kept getting error 255. I was hoping someone knew of a decent app or similar way to change the status bar icons? battery icon mainly
TIA

I've found none for the entire status bar unless you're rooted so I'm using Battery Overlay Percent Key. It defaults to covering up your battery icon but you can move the battery icon anywhere you like. There is a free version but you get more customizations with the key which is pretty cheap. Oh there is one app for the status bar I know of called Omega but I found it to be terrible.

Odd that there isn't more launchers that do it, but there is one launcher that does have built-in status bar editing, CleanUI. It's a IOS look alike that previously was called Espier Launcher. I've tried it and it's not too bad, but it seemed to use more battery than Nova, what I normally use.
