Battery Status not updating - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Last night when I took Tab off keyboard dock it said 43%. After a few hours it still said 43% and shutdown right in front of me. Tonight toolboff dock and it was 100% charged. I've been using it off and on for a few hours and still have 100% charge.
Anyone have an issue with the battery status not updating? I use a few Widgets and apps that display battery status. Maybe its one of those, but before I go looking for a needle in a haystack... I thought I would ask.

Uninstall any widget that use or misure battery and try with the stock percentage under device stats, i think one of your widget is not fully compatible with honeycomb. I have the same problem with data counter, 3g watchdog starts, its ok in all config but it don't update the data count.

battery drained out.....any idea

for some odd reason my battery was drained out very fast, i mean fast....
i thought it was my battery but i guess its my phone....cuz i bought a new battery n it was at 60% n less than 3 min it was down to 6%....
is there a way to fix this or is my phone broken...
any help would be good....
thank you!!!
Enter *#*#4636#*#* in the dialpad, that brings you to a service menu. There, go to Battery History and select Partial wake usage. That shows you if you have some app installed that prevents the phone from sleeping.
Also, the battery needs to go through a couple of full charge-discharge cycles before it reaches it full capacity.
Hope that helps!
Was it hot?
Hi,
To dissipate that amount of energy in that time would make the unit very hot indeed.
Is the unit getting hot?
If not, then the energy wasn’t really there and it’s likely your battery is damaged/faulty and needs replacement.
Regards,
Paul.
The best advice i can give you is to find a widget that disables your data connection.
I used to have major battery drain. ie: Right after a charge, i only got 97%. By 10am, with almost no usage, im on around 68%.
Now, with data disabled (when not in use), i am still on 95% since i took it off charge at about 12am in the morning!

Can I ask you what widget you use for that? I'm facing the same problem: 94% right after recharge and rapid discharge after that.
Try "Data on demand", worked for me.
P.
data on demand is brilliant.. but I don't think that is the problem that the OP has experienced - no amount of data use would cause the battery to drain that quickly.. it's likely to be 1 of 2 things..
1. Faulty battery.
2. faulty app which is battering the processor and using 3g/wifi at the same time..
no the battery is not hot....my phone was working fine this 3 day ago....n now with the new battery is still the same.......
i also turn of everything on my phone n restart everything...with 0% this morning ....with my phone n now im back home im still at 23%.......is it virus?...but i scan my phone with this app from the market n its fine........
Timescape and Mediascape might be the cause
Hi, I had the same problem. I had to charge my phone three or four times a day. I read in a thread here that some people removed Timescape and got amazing improvements. I removed Timescape, Mediascape and other applications I don't need. Your phone must be rooted for removing these applications.
This night my battery dropped 3% in six hours. I now charge once a day and is happy with that.
Helps to mention to them any side effects of removing timescape n so forth..

Yeah, removing timescape and mediascape is a good idea, i also removed the phone dialer, and the browser because it was draining lots of battery, and also removed parts of the Android UI but figured it was still using some battery, so i now use the shell on minimum screen luminosity and always on plane mode !
Yes, you can mock about it, but both Timescape and Mediascape got replacment apps which are actually way more usable and gives me more than just a fancy user interface.
That is one of the good things about Android. I am not locked to any application.
Sorry to take over here but whats a good replacement for timescape? I've tried many phonebook apps and they all look horrible.
I would really like the HTC sense phoonebook any way i can get that?

I don't know about that but theres apps such as acontacts, takephone (something like that) n quickcall!

It happens to me once, from 92% to 36% in just under 6 minutes. Then draining very fast after that. I removed one application I installed (can't remember the exact name) and rebooted and it never happen again...
phone is dead now..........
wont charge!!!!
this suckx!!!!
wast of money!!!!!!
You need to take it back buddy - it's obviously faulty.
Dear all members,
I plug in the phone yesterday for charging and probably due to the charger was not plugged into the socket probably, it is not charging.
To my surprise, when I wake up in the morning, the battery was drained and shut off.
I try to charge the battery up but the charging seems a little slow now, is the battery faulty?
I can feel the back of the phone was hot though.
Definitely something wrong with my battery, I have been charging from morning till now and the battery never charges up to 22%, when it reaches 22%, it will drain out slowly even the socket is still connected.
I will have to bring my phone down for them to check.

Battery bug after froyo update!

Okay. Flashed my phone using the Reg hack. It's working almost flawless. The bug i have is with the Battery indicator. It's 20% in front of real battery percent! In sometimes i freezes. Right now it's really bugging me! I've tried to do factory wipe 3 times(not working). And i tried to take the battery after draining it to zero. But nothing seems to work All that have something to do with my battery seems to be all drunk. Lol. My battery state and the f...... Indicator! Someone have the same issue? And someone have a solution?
Cheers..

I have the same problem.
The indicator always show more than what batterypercent really is.
I updated using Kies when Froyo was available in norway.
Edit: added screenshot
(its norwegian but im sure you dont need any translation)
I had this problem in 2.1 . Get a bat stat from the market. No biggy

I had the problem in 2.1 as well... I think it has to do with the touchwiz battery indicator only changing every 15% or so...
I've installed 'Gauge Battery Widget' from the market. It shows up in the status bar as well.
Maybe every 25%.
Mine is 80% now and indicator still shows max

Yep, this has been my experience as well. I think the battery notification icon only has 4 or 5 stages so will show full even if you're at 85%. I replaced the touchwiz with one of the SpitFire battery mods and now my notification bar battery matches the system percentage exactly as it has 100 stages.
here too, .. 98% after 5 hours of use and still showing as beeing full =/ (jpk)
(holy smokes, .. thse last couple of days my battery is uberly-strong!!)
What about some search ??

[Q] 4.1.2 broke battery indicator

Hi guys,
First time poster but this issue has my stumped. So I had my Nexus 7 plugged in charging while using it, battery % was at 68% and up comes a popup for the 4.1.2 update. Mind you I don't keep up with upcoming updates and all that fun stuff so I figured why the heck not. Updated just fine, no issues however I noticed something odd immediately.
Battery indicator was showing 100%. Odd. So I downgraded back to factory (Nakasi) version. Again the battery indicator is now showing 100% at all times. Ran a few games real quick, let youtube run through a 5 minute clip and it's still showing 100%. Resetting to factory defaults also does not fix anything at this point.
Any ideas? It still gets the 'charging' icon and 3rd party apps from the Play Store for battery indicators also show 100% -- which I assume is based off the internal indicator anyway. Since last I disconnected the power, 2hrs ago, the stock battery graph is showing 100% without a single dip.

Note 3 Exynos - Battery dying even on standby

I bought my Note 3 in December from a Samsung Smart Cafe. The phone was amazing throughout the last few months. 2 days on medium usage, amazing WiFi connectivity, awesome gaming experience.
However, 3 nights back I had left the phone (at 50% battery) and gone to bed around 23.00 hours. The next morning I woke up late at exactly 10.00 hrs. When I went to check for any missed calls I found that the battery had completely drained off and the phone was dead. I turned it back on t see that the battery percentage was 1%.
I want to clear out that the following are deactivated on my phone:
1) S-Voice
2) Wake up in lock Screen
When I checked the battery stats I found that the screen was using 56% of the battery. How could that possible be when the screen was switched off the whole time.
Since then every night there has been a drain of about 46% every night. Earlier it used to be only 2-3%.
Could you guys please help me out here? Really tensed
P.S: Last night I left the phone on flight mode and went to sleep. The battery drain was only 1%.
Guys! It happened last night again. This time around, the battery drop-out was around 40%.
Please help me out on this. Any kind of suggestion would be awesome.
Install app called gsam from Google play, one of your app may not allowing your phone to go on deep sleep. If you have installed any app recently try to uninstall.

Hey, the most recent apps that I had installed before the battery went bonkers were:
1) Truecaller
2) BosonX
3) Freeze
I uninstalled all of the three apps.
I have installed GSam battery monitor and the main stat that is abnormal according to me is that the battery discharges 43% even when the screen is off. I have a radio signal usage of about 42% which I think is pretty normal and I do not have bad reception.
Still, last night the battery went down to 80% from a full charged state of 100.

Let Gsam to monitor for two or three more complete charge & discharge cycle so u may come to know where is the problem, some time ext sd card also causing battery drain problem, if u have than try to use phone without sd card for couple of days.

[Q] Horrible battery drain

I'm using CM 11 (4.4.2) and MKernel.
As the title says,I am experiencing massive battery drains for no apparent reason.I charge my tablet at night (because it doesn't only discharge instantly, but also takes forever to charge - even if i'm not using it),at 12,I unplug it at 5-6 in the morning, and when I get back home at 2-3 it has 40-60% battery left. Not to mention how fast it discharges when I use it during the day.(like 1-2% per minute when I am just browsing)This shows in android: http://m.imgur.com/ZxxQZFu and this in gsam: http://m.imgur.com/UecetMU,BEa31nR,azM4kqq,DS5Ts3e,Sz5PQYv (i know, custom kernel, but the stock one was draining almost the same percent).I've disabled some gms services with android tuner but I dont't see a major change.FYI: my location ,location history, sync are always off and thre brightness is almost always at 0% and I don't have any rouge app. Any ideas what could it be?
BTW: Does anybody know what (wrong) service I disabled because no google app is able to connect to the internet anymore.

Maybe, but I have no ideea which one could.I can give you a list with my apps if you want.
Those screen shots aren't the helpful ones. You need screens of held awake time, and times waking device from Gsam. The main Gsam screen is helpful too.
....and you need Gsam root companion installed to see those wake screens.
