hello all, which is currently the best rom based on 2.3 Gingerbread for x8? I'm noob because x8 is my first smarthphone android.
sorry for my english, I'm italian
Have you seen the search tool????
There are atleast 4 or 5 threads like this. Don't create multiple threads. Look at the stickies for ROM reviews.
THERE IS NO BEST ROM. CHOOSE WHAT IS SUITABLE FOR YOU.

ok, thanks
in this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223
the camera works only vga or megapixel ?
I recommend KUYADroid rom, in my opinion it best for 2.3.4. Works all, only camera in VGA mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109563
i have 2.2.9 floyo 0.30
should I upgrade to kuyadroid?
Yes, you should just download latest kuya rom zip and install it via xRecovery using "install custom zip".
Enjoy

Being a noob, as you said, doesn't mean that you cannot read sticky threads or search. (using Google btw).

How to install Android 2.2 Froyo on Xperia X10????? I am currently running android 2.1 with build number 2.1.A.0.435
I am on AT&T.
Hey man wats up. You have to install xrecovery and root your phone. But if you need a video tutorial go to youtube and subscribe to bluechip. He has a ton of videos on this

Can you give me the link???
I just wanted to flash to android 2.2. I dont want to root it. is it possible?
no.
u'll need root to install xRecovery,
then from the "X10 Android Development", choose a suitable rom for yourself and follow the instructions made by the developer
(Normally roms are installed using xRecovery)

No, there is no official 2.2 ROM for the X10 and there never will be.
So, to install 2.2 you'll need a custom ROM, cooked by the extremely clever and dedicated folk here at XDA. To get a 2.2 ROM on your phone, you need to install xRecovery. To install xRecovery you need to root your phone. If you want to backup your Apps (highly recommended), you need Titanium Backup, which requires root access. All the 2.2 ROMs available include root access.
If you're worried about rooting your phone, you probably need to stick to a stock SE 2.1 ROM.
There's no risk in rooting, you can always unroot without/and/or revert(ing) to your stock. but I'm guessing since you're running the 2.1 (current build) in america, you're not worried about stock. Don't fear the root!
Also, flashing roms with xreovery (also need busybox) is painless, fun and addictive; plus you can make complete backups of your current state, just incase you f-it up

Sent from my CM 7 x10 using the XDA ap
I use CM 6.1.3 v 4.2 and it's the best of all Froyos on x10. But I want my Camera. it dose not work fully.
As long as bootloader is not open, Froyo is just a ROM on to pof 2.1.... so no 100% Froyo
Mugur
http://mugur-ionescu.ro/tag/xperia
but even not being "true" froyo, those custom ROMs still run better than 2.1 and you can use all froyo features like app 2 sd and adobe flash, it's worth a try and even fun to check different builds and see what each dev added.
So far i've tryed rendeiro's and wolfbreak's cyanogen 6.1.3 ROMs, i prefer the later because i like to tweak the UI myself, but both run great.

try Vignette, but the "deprecated version" and not the "new version". it's the best i've tested so far, only one that works at 8 megapixel.

Hye there!
I just rooted my phone with 2.3 cyanogen mod 7 RC2 J005 by racht
but I found out tat several problems occur :-
several of android market apps crash
i can turn on bluetooth but my device undetectable
seems laggy
does anyone can prefer me most suitable ROM that support HD games.
because mostly i used my x8 for that.
or there is any update for this ROM that fixes all the problem
sorry for my bad
thanx alot!
All the roms for X8 is not finished and most of them have some sort of errors.Enjoy testing them, and read about the bugs that the rom have before you flash it.
My opinion is that MiniCM-1.0.0-Beta2 and GINGERBREAD 2.3.3 CM7.0 RC2 DEVELOPMENT v006 are good roms.
If you can't live with the bugs,go back to stock.
In the moment the most stable one is racth floyo v015, you should flash that one for now.
@Alfsamsung - thanx for ur advoce dude! I appreciate that. BTW, normally if their (Dev) ROM hv some bugs. They will release update to solved that right? Do I need to flash bck my ROM if I want to reset bck all the setting?
@Drakenfall - Mind to share those link for that ROM ?
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Just be patient and wait for the new updated ROM.. They are doing everything for the X8 user like us.. Just now, you can try 2.2.1 CM Floyo v0.15..

hi,
try read through this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921652
Yeah read the whole thing posted in the link Flasher8 gave you. It's a pretty nice introduction to rooting and installing custom ROMs. After you have done those, install a Froyo ROM because Froyo ROMs are the most stable and it will give you the ability to move apps from phone memory to the SD card.
By the way, I recommend you install Floyo 0.20 by racht
Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058913
It's the one that says "2.2.1 CM Floyo v0.20"

Elelinux is just as fast and has no wifi issues. MiniCM has greatest support. FroyoBread has those gread GB features. Let him decide on his own.
Besides, why bother installing custom ROM? If he needs one, he'll get to it.
@OP - After you root your X8 (the way is presented in the link posted before) take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
Well that is my question, What do you consider that is the best rom at the moment?
First: what is the best rom for battery? and why?
Second: what is the faster rom? and why?
Finally: What do you consider the best rom at the moment? gingerdx? or what and why?
Please in your answers, can you give me the link of the rom? because ever that someone answer my questions i cant find the rom so that's my questions thanks for help me i'm new in the community of Xperia x8.
I have tried gingerxperia and gingerDX.
guess what,gingerxperia is better.
fast,stable,battery's life is better too.
as far,I don't get any problem using gingerxperia.
probably gingerxperia. gingercruzt 7.4 is nice too, it has timescape. but im using froyobread now. imo it's the most stable ROM out there.

And now, do you think the same?
I really like gingerDX, but there is a problem with accelerometer and it's the huge problem for me.. Does the gingerXperia have this bug too? P.S. I'm usung FroyoBread now, but really like android 2.3.5 instead of 2.2..

this is true guys! i used gingerdx for quite a while and ive just installed gingerxperia and its MUCH faster! only thing is if you want dual touch you have to install it manually unlike gingerdx because it comes precompiled in the rom. But overclock doesnt work in dx but in gingerxperia it does!
Then maybe you would like to try Xperia 8 ginger roms, It's a mix of GingerDX, GingerXperia, openroms from htc_woldfire and stock eclair, I tried before, Kuya, minicm, froyobread, ginger xperia and several others, and, I've been using this one for some days now and just love it, fast, besides I never thought i would enjoy the 7 launcher so much!!, really, just give it a try.
