Hi,
I don't want to start another topic, so I will ask there, hope you wouldn't mind.
I don't know much about mobile devices hardware, but would it be possible to change some hardware parts, if there was a custom kernel? Like having an x10 mini camera in our devices?
I ask, just to learn something, it's not like I'm trying to create a frankenstein monster from two phones, thanks.

even if you could change certain hardware aspects you have the problem of incompatable software, and unless your a dev or you get a dev to rewrite a rom you would just end up with a brick. Best of luck if you do decide to try hardware modding.
Thanks guys, as I said, I'm not gonna mod hardware of my phone, it was just hypothetical question.

X8 has no future. Is any possibility to customize X10 ROM for our `lovely` X8?
Thanks.
For Admin: I don't know how to delete the same thread from `XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps` SubForum.
Sorry.
why should somebody "customize x10 rom", when we have almost fully working 2.3 roms ???
Because (maybe, I don't know) a skilled person (a `cooker`) can change your word `almost` with the word `already` when X10 2.3.3 will be available...
Perhaps they can fix our phone's camera app using the X10 Android 2.3.
No, they can't.
X10 has a different hardware from X8 and different architecture

the truth hurts.
Now AnDyX's fingers are playing with camera drivers !!!! may be within a short time he will gift us with a driver which support camera in 2.3+ OS....Now I am having hope for camera in 2.3....
I think that 2d libs are more important

I'm pretty sure he meant it's 100% based on AOSP rather than 100% functional
Yes ofcourse I meant that
Ty
Well I tried with motoblur but just got stuck at fc
I had to change parameters
But no luck
And Motorola is going to stop making motoblur phones soon....
I didn't bother
I would love sense on x10
I may try ?:$

The reason why he left it was because on ecalir HTC had put many restrictions and locked every Apk very tightly
It would be easier now because people for MOTO Droid with a diff chipset omap and powervgr have ported it
The main thing is decompiling and changing parameters
Like swappiness , RAM , etc

I dunno much about this stuff, but there was another thread about it recently & if I remember correctly even achotjan was involved but nothing released, maybe you should contact those & J, to avoid starting from zero
I've been wanting to try AOSP GB with fps fix and custom kernel from J's 2nd post but I'm not familiar with making boot.img's so I'm trying to look into steps of how to make one... BB.67 btw
Nice tho

Some people really need to improve their English here and besides, there has been not a single bugless software released in the computer world.
@OP -- I say go for it, and make it available for all basebands since we have kernels supporting all basebands now.

Kernels are available for all basebands but as of yet roms aren't
And because you cannot use internet whilst in phonecall on 2.0.XX (.46.49.52) and other things, roms on 2.1.XX (.54.55.58.61.65.67) are recommended for battery and signal strength

How to make it work on my x8 ??
Any comment will be appreciated ..
Thanks .....
It only works on a specific gingerbread rom. I don't know which now, but i think an old release of miniCM ROM can handle the game. I don't know either why any other custom rom can't run it, and I would like to ask any developer to check this out because it is really strange.

MIUI is open since long time. The big problem is that MIUI is only supporting devices with big screen (WVGA and higher).

Yeah.. I know.. That's why I bought the Desire.. But with open source someone Whit proper skill should be able to change this.. Open for a long time? This news was taken straight from MIUIs facebook page.. So I'm guessing now ALL if the MIUI source has been open.. Before all the base files were closed source..

large screen
Try editing the lcd resolution line in the kernel
As far as I know MIUI doesn't make any changes to the kernel.
I didn't look it up yet...
after reading the whole thread, it looks like the guys in the x8 forum are busy... its good news...
So it's possible to port MIUI to the Legend? I really want to try that ROM

Not possible..Because most of the advance users who were helping the community has left Legend and bought some other phones...
I know it's out of my league, but i cant hold it back because hw decoding/encoding solution are possible now for MSM7x27 SoCs
Head to Modified libstagefright to use legacy Qualcomm OMX IL libs on ICS for MSM7x27 SoCs
vote for it to be featured on the portal. that will get the attention of more devs.
i know right?
nothing is impossible
So...
Screw qualcomm
anyone now can tell me how to install on my jb rom this drivers?
this should be moved to dev section I think
but didnt qualcomm COMPLETELY abandon this.....
D: its a great notice, but this drivers can be added to any cm9 or cm10 rom? (for example: MiniCM9 (nAa) )

hell yea!! the major companies should hire workforce from xda!!!
n00b question here: How the hell do I flash this on MiniCM9? D:
You can't flash it as it's a source code. I already tried it with isdx and camcorder works. I had some issues with playing movies though. Be patient.

Kinda tempted to try this on ICZaraki
So it means, that our developers started to work on this. Be patient, and don't ask stupid things like:
'How to install'
'When will it come to our device'
THERE IS NO WAY NOW and AFTER OUR DEVELOPERS MADE IT
And thank it to the developers! With the button!
And for developers. It might help.

Decoder works perfectly for very low quality videos (320x240), on higher resolution, sometimes lags.
Youtube HQ, works much more faster, but the same, sometimes lags an skip lots on frames.

Nah, it's a discussion. Nothing actually developed here
The dev work from scratch doing comparing the lib or whatever is was.... implementing (replacing) to/the original android's media handling process is a hard thing to do
So, let us be patience
is this for msm7x27 soc or msm7x27A? as i ever heard the 'A' version is a lower end of armv7 while a our chipset is armv6.

Hope nAa can implement these changes in next JB update. cheers
I tried that but now not working on our device. This needed more work.
