Anyone else experiencing this problem?
I cannot click back over to the original call when using call waiting. I get the notification when I am on a call, that a second call is coming in and I get the options (ignore, send to voice, or answer). If I answer, I am never able to switch back over to the original call after I am done. Any ideas?
n my phone when I receive another call I get the options to "Answer", "Ignore", "End and Answer"
If I answer the banner at the top displays the current caller's name and call time but gives an option to "Tap to Swap".
This is what SHOULD be there emphasis on should.
Whenever the second phone call ends, I have to press the drop-down menu and take the first call off "Hold". It's really annoying and should automatically occur once the second caller hangs up.
Odd. Mine just switches back over automatically.

This is really annoying.... just discovered today that I cannot accept any waiting call.
I hear the waiting call tone while talking on the original call, I do get a message with the waiting call details on screen, but when I try to accept the waiting call, 2 option occur:
1. The waiting call go away, with a message "Cannot accept call", further more I can't here the other party on the original call, but the original call still connected.
2. Just try to answer the incoming waiting call, I push again and again the "answer" button, but nothing happens.
I upgraded to ROM 1.72 recently, and don't remember what was happening with ROM 1.66.
I was curious to check if any software cause that. I made full Hard Reset, and with empty memory, the same happened.
Any ideas?
everytime im on a call and I get another incoming call, it will beep continuously until the call waiting caller hangs up... anyone ever experience this? if so, any solutions? any suggestions on what i should do? (t-mobile wing)
Yes, in my opinion, this is normal behavior. If you hit the END button, or the IGNORE softkey, it will reject the call that is coming in.
no matter what ringtones i use they only ring for 17 seconds is there a setting or way to alter this.
and how can i silence an incoming call. id like the option to answer the call or press a silence button so the other caller still
thinks the call is ringing and that the call has not just been rejected.
thanks

Sounds like your calls get diverted to voicemail after 20 seconds (takes approx 3 seconds for the phone to ring on an incomming call). Setting your divert can be network dependant, but if you go into phone settings, there is an option called "divert" which yoy can change. Be warned - if on vodafone or other similar networks, the network handles the call diversion. However if you change this, you may be charged for the phone diverting calls to voice mail.
To mute the phone on incomming call, simply turn the phone face down on the desk. This should mute the ringer. If this does not work, you need to install HD Tweek or similar to set this option.
yes mate your right my phone does get divertd to voicemail but i was getting 29 seconds i think it was on my nokia n95 when that was set to divert. on orange you cant set divert on or of by the phone you have to ring the network but cancel divert.
as for the silence calls on flip if i have the phone in my pocket and someone calls the flip does not work as i have no surface to lay it flt on i just tried it .
so if anyone else has no solution the only thing i can think of is
1 cancel call divert with my network and hope there is a third party software that can manage my voice mail . any recommendations ?
2 any recommendations of any software to silence calls by press of a button ?
thanks
ok i managed to get the ringtone to ring longer before it goes to voicemail .
the settings for that are acually in the phone ardsar says but how can i get the
phone to silince callls without turning the phone over .
im looking for a press of a button method.
thanks
Press one of the volume buttons when your phone is ringing
blimey so easy eh when you know how .
cheers mate appreciated
or you can dial this number
**61*insert your voicemail number here*11*30#
if you then hit the call button and enter this your phone will ring for 30 seconds before going to voice mail.
cheers
I'm pretty embarrassed to be asking something like this, but is there any way to nicely handle the following race condition:
1) You're talking to someone. The call drops.
2) You call them right back. The call goes straight to their voicemail, because it just so happens that they're calling YOU right now. It took a half-second or so it for you to realize what happened...
3) ... and now you just heard the call-waiting beep, and know the 'incoming call' message is going to appear on the screen in just a moment. Damn. It's too late to abort. If you hit 'end' now, it's going to decline the incoming call and leave you in their voicemail. On the other hand, if you hit 'send', it's going to keep the voicemail call active, and take the incoming call from the person.
In other words, you have two options, and both of them suck. What you REALLY want to do is kill the voicemail call, and take the incoming call.
Is there any good way to do it? Specifically on Sprint, but I'm willing to randomly try things known to work with other carriers, too, just in case it happens to work with Sprint as well.
Failing that, does the Android API expose enough of the phone to create a custom event handler that reacts to call-waiting events by comparing the number just dialed to the number on the caller ID, and if both are the same, forcibly terminate the first call and take the second?
I hate it when this happens too. I hadn't thought of a solution but it just occurred to me that pressing # ends voicemail on some carriers. Haven't tried it with Sprint yet but might be worth a shot.
I recently rooted and installed the Bi-Winning V2 rom for my vibrant. One thing I've noticed is SOMETIMES (quite often, but not every time) when I dial a number to make a call, ill hear a quick 2 beep notification and then the call starts ringing normally. What is this double beep??? I am not using any *67 or other *codes when dialing.
I get the same too. I think it has something to do with call confirmation. Beeps when your call went through successfully...i think
You can turn that off in call settings.
Go into settings, then "call settings"->"All calls"->"Call status tones" and unselect "Call connect tone".
