I had honeybadger cm7 nand on my android and decided to switch to typhoon cm7 cause I was told it would be more stable. I followed the guide carefully and when everything was finished and I went to restart my device it wouldn't go past the blue android when booting up. Please help
how long did you wait? some ROMs can take 10-15 mins to fully boot up. some say even longer but i've tried just about them all and haven't came across one that was over about 15 mins. plus if you didnt partition your phone or sd correctly (if the ROM called for it) then it could get stuck on the boot screen as well. the HD2 NAND Toolkit is rather useful if you need to partition your phone. you can find that here. i personally like minitool partition software which makes partitioning your sd card very simply to do and you can get that here.
you should know that you need to make sure you flash the correct ROMs to your phone because if you flash one thats not meant for your phone you could ruin it for good. i know that when your first learning this process it can be very frustrating but if you take some notes and be patient you'll fully understand everything in a short time.
I actually waited for about 2 minutes, wasn't aware you're suppose to wait longer. Should I try to reflash and wait for 15 minutes?
Clear data and caches factory reset them reboot

did you unlock the phone first?
is there the correct radio on it?
I regularly get typhoon not getting past the boot animation on first boot, even with all the partitions cleared, I just leave it a few mins,(two, three) then pull the battery and it generally starts.
If you are planning to selectively restore ext and/or data you should clean boot the fresh flash all the way and then reboot and perform the restore.

Okay, I've searched and searched and no one seems to have the specific problem that I'm having with my phone, so I'm taking to the forums myself. I've been rooting since the G1, I know how to adb push things, I have used google and multiple forums to try to fix this problem. So here goes, anyone that can help I thank you in advance.
1-My phone, like some other MT4G users, reboots itself each time it's plugged in. Initially I thought this was because I was using a Kindle cord to plug it into the pc, so I bought an MT4G usb cable from tmobile, and still it boot loops (just the first white screen for maybe 4 seconds, then black then again and again). The only way to charge it is to let it start boot looping, take the battery out, turn it on, and if I'm lucky enough that it begins to boot up correctly I plug it in mid boot. If I wait til it's fulled loaded it just starts rebooting again.
2-It will not at all from any angle go into Recovery mode. If I try to go to recovery from Rom Manager, or from the screen you get when holding power and lower volume key or by flashing a rom through Rom Manager, it just boot loops just like mentioned above, until I pull the battery for a while (it is currently sitting next to me with the battery out) and then put it back in.
3-If by chance it's on, and plugged into the computer, it is not at all recognized. Ever. While it's booting up my computer finds something, but doesn't know what it is, and doesn't allow me to view any folders on the SD card. Yes I've installed the HTC drivers file. I've adb'ed things to this phone before, now it says device not found. I don't know when it stopped being recognized...
4-I've even tried to fastboot something over to it, but to no avail, still not found.
If I try to do a factory reset, it boot loops. If I sneeze it boot loops.... I don't know what to do, and if I trade it in under warranty, I have to reset it to stock rom, or they're going to charge me for a new phone. Any ideas!?
I have Cyanogen mod 7 on here.
have you tried a fastboot wipe? or have you tried to reboot to recovery from adb?
First, I don't trust using the actual ROM Manager app to do the flashing/installing.
Since you've been flashing since the G1 days why not use Clockwork Recovery? Just go into recovery and do the necessary wipes.
So I suggest to do a complete full wipe in Clockwork, meaning wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. Install the newest CM nightly (Which is working wonderfully BTW) and see if your problems still persists.
Edit: I didn't realize you tried to enter recovery, oops. But yeah try what the buy above me said. Try re-installing the latest CWM recovery, if that still fails then try heading into there via ADB.

I second that, flashing ROMs from ROM Manager a terrible idea.
Well...if all else fails and if you are really thinking about returning it and still under warranty...few seconds in the microwave method should work just fine. They wont be able to see that its rooted if the phone wouldn't turn on, would they???
glimmer of hope...
So by the grace of god I did get it flashed back to unrooted, stock 2.2 by putting it as pd15img.zip on my sd card and going into bootloader. Once that was done I thought I would be out of the woods... I even plugged it in last night and no boot loop!! but this morning I unpllugged it (and I'm using a tmobile cable for the phone attached to my pc) and here it sits, next to me again with the battery out of it because everytime I try to turn it on (for over 40 minutes now) it boot loops to that stupid white screen (that is honestly driving me insane at this point). I know that it isn't rooted (because I dl'ed rom manager and it won't let me do anything without being rooted) so do we think that I'm safe to go to the store today to request a new one be sent? Thoughts? And thanks for the help thus far!
yeah I would send that back
Bad emmc chip? I'm sorry man, that's a terrible story.

Hi Guys,
I'm posting here because with less than 10 posts I am not allowed to post in other forums (I hope it's the right one).
I have just followed the procedure for the installation of Cyanogenmod 7 RC 1 on my Tattoo (using ClockWorkMod) but now the phone is stuck on the Tattoo logo.
I also tried to reinstall a backup with the original rom, but after the tattoo logo the phone gets stuck with the HTC logo.
Any idea? How can I fix this issue?
How much time do you expect? Installing the firmware may take a long time. Wait 30 minutes, and preferably one o'clock
Did you managed to boot into CM7 ?
If yes try to reformat your SD card and reflash with full wipe etc
Avoid doing the back-up..I assumed you had been on 1.6 or etc..
Please advise....As for the stuck at boot...do a hard reset let it load on stock rom and repeat the entire process.
..........I will be around in the next five hours......
Naah.. 30minutes is way too much to wait..
did u try wiping cache/dalvik cache and factory reset?
btw, i need also 10 posts
Sometimes it happens to me also. Then I download ROM again, boot into clockworkmod and flash it again. Wipe is needed. After flash new rom, booting is at least twice time longer, than normal boot.
i was just using my nexus perfectly it was running 2.3.6
i wanted to root... i'm guessing i used the wrong method
i used super one click... idiotic move
the phone is constantly rebooting
i've unlocked the bootloader and i used bextboot...
anyone know how to fix this?
thanks in advance!
root
i feel your pain ,i really do 'cos i have just gone thru this process two days ago!.
if you follow the guides below ,you should recover your phone as i did.
VAIDUS SIRTAUTUS BLOG --google it 'cos i'm not allowed to post links ...Yet
good luck and remember to back up your data BEFORE you start!

Can you access recovery? press trackball and power(same time) if it gets you to the 3 androids on scateboard i think youre all good, proceed to recovery and just flash the stock image link here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012382 then try to root again gingerbreak would be be a good choice.
thanks... now i'm just having one issue
i want to flash the cool3drhyme mod, it keeps rebooting though
i flashed it through clockworkmod
i feel like i'm doing something wrong
i created the EXT4 partition using mini tool partition before flashing
after that it just stayed on the screen for like 10 min
so i formatted my card completely to fat32 and flashed again and it keeps rebooting
i feel like this has something to do with the EXT partition
Did you read OP page and last dozen or so pages of thread for tips, info etc
It requires 1gb ext4--I have had no problems with ext3
Sense roms are big--I use 1.5gb 0 swap
Repartition outside of phone like you did, do a full format not quick--I like sdformatter
Not sure on your recovery--but you need to wipe System/Data/Caches/etc
Some boots do take awhile for Sense roms--RCADS took 14 minutes on initial boot
If too long just pull battery, sometimes it will boot back up fairly quickly
Be sure to always wipe data and cache when installing a different rom. (Not upgrading the same rom, then it's okay not to wipe data, but wiping cache can help)
It truly boggles my mind when people use an unlock method OTHER than the one BUILT IN TO THE PHONE!
And then they're surprised when it doesn't work. -_-
and created a special patch to run the full wape used the recently
My apologies for what is (hopefully) a simple or obvious issue and shortcoming on my point. I've used xda to flash my very first custom ROM, and managed to get things sorted without having to resort to asking you, the assembled phone-modding-guru's but I'm at a loss and don't want to dig myself in any deeper and make more of an issue of this than it already is.
I've got a UK HD2 with a sandisk ultra 32gb micro sd (with a 2 gb partition) and the ROM, Android 4.0.4 On HTC HD 2 NexusHD2 HWA V2.7
All was good and I'd even managed to overcome the lack of internal memory by installing Link2SD and placing the new Apps on the SD card. All was good until this afternoon when I set up a recovery app (or whatever it was classed as) in Avast.
I kept getting a message saying that something had crashed then Avast started flagging issues and finally, things refused to connect to the WIFI - google chrome, the stock browser, google play store. I tried following some instructions on various forums (stop google from syncing) after typing out what the prompt was but then my broadband went down and I lost what I'd typed.
I tried to restart my HD2 but then it refused to boot up. I managed to find that this is called the Boot Loop and followed through this thread Please Help!!! HD2 Boot loop, making a recovery which I've stored on my pc (I took out the sd card and used an adapter to connect it) and used the zipped ROM that was on the sd card but alas, back to the boot loop.
I've checked the battery pins and non are bent, although the one on the right hand side does seem to be a tiny bit shorter than the other two (I'm talking fractions of a mm) and checked to see that I'd mounted the SD card.
So, I guess my question is, where to go from here?
Well I don't know if it was the ideal way to sort things but after following the instructions on another site, I managed to get rid of the boot loop but now can't access the apps through Link2SD...
For future reference, if anyone else is unfortunate enough to have this issue, have a go at following this...
pull the battery, put it back in, hold down call-end whilst booting to boot into to MAGLDR, launch AD recovery, clear the cache partition, clear the dalvik cache, clear the battery stats and fix permissions then restart, I have to at least clear the dalvik cache every single time I reboot ANY android nand rom on my hardware (LEO512-TELSTRA) otherwise mine boot loops or just gets stuck on the black background and green htc.
try also Fix Permissions under advanced and "wipe data/factory reset" options in the AD recovery menu's
I do NOT use EXT4 partition, there could be something screwy on your card though, try booting it up without your SD card in, if it boots then you know there's something crap on the card you need to clean up
I'm unsure about being able to post external links on here (this is my first post after all, and one borne out of panic!) so if that's a no-no then please accept my apologies once more but I thought that if this can help one person, it was worth me writing this last part!

Thanks but non of those contained anything specific to my problem - I've looked through each one at different times.
Need some advice, phone running NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-V2.7, backed up using CWM and tried to flash nexus jellyBean by changing partirion to 400mb, phone would not boot passed cyanogenMod screen, wiped system changed back to 250mb partition and restored system but now phone will not boot passed ICS screen, have tried reflashing ROM but still same problem, any thoughts please.
I believe I should have said that the phone is in ICS animation and that is it, cannot get passed this, have tried everything apart from dropping the phone in a bucket of water. Have cleaned out everything but the restore will not work.
Is there a solution?
IMO you should try a fresh installation of whatever ROM you want: wipe everything(including microSD, but before do a backup) and install it from scratch!
Good luck!

This is getting very frustrating having checked dozens of posts cannot find a logical solution, tried every possible solution I can find. I can get into all features of system,2.08HSPL shows, CWM, MAGLDR, usb screens okay, in short everything okay bar cannot fully load any ROM past animation screen, have tried task 29 but will not load RUU just sits at HTC with bar and the has communication error. Can the the phone be bricked when all functions are available? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Can you run SD roms past boot anim?
Have you performed a NAND check from MAGLDR? Might be bad NAND blocks.
Well guys after hours of trying to sort this out I have come to the sad conclusion the phone is stuffed which has left me depressed, I have tried:
Restore from my original backup all loads good but does not bootup
task 29 (error 262) does not seem to recognise windows sync
Tried loading from cd using nbh but tri-colour boot loader will not search for file
It is a shame as I can get into all the bootloaders which people tell me should load but no luck
Thanks for your help HD2 goodby

you're probably using too big an SD card, is it bigger than 8gb?
If so, put the LEOIMG.NBH file on an 8gb or smaller card, and get into tricolor, it should load.
Yes I am using a 16gb card, in the meantime I have managed to restore the phone back to ics nexus v2.7, not sure how I did it but in case anybody has the same problem here goes'
I had to get back to WM 6.5 no matter which ROM I tried could not get the custom RUU to load, (probably due to the sd card size) but I noticed I had a custom RUU sitting on my desktop (not sure why there but probably from past messing about) as a last resort I loaded this and bingo within a short time windows loaded up and from there reflashed ICS and restored from backup, working perfectly what a relief. Goes to show ignorance sometimes wins. Details of the custom RUU used.

This worked with the 16gb card, I would like to go to jelly bean but am I pushing my luck. Can you just reload CWM with a 400 partition?
Have a nice day

I had a problem with that one, so i decided to use this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584160, and i think that is working much better than Nexus.
