Might be something wrong with the ROM or the installation. Might want to re-install it. Just curious why do you want to install Android on SD card? NAND install is much faster and you can also install windows along with it.

I have been struggling with this very issue, and the reformatting and resetting doesn’t work.

Need some help. I've upgraded from 6.5 to 7 on my HD2. Works fine except that it cant see my SD card. I have 2 of them but none works. I've try them on other devices and it works so its not a memory card problem.
I tried to connect to HD2 via Windows Mobile Device Center but it wont recognize the device. What am I missing? Please help

Ok, firstly you'll need to browse thru the FAQ.

WP7 is a new OS, COMPLETELY unrelated to WinMo6.x
Keep in mind WP7 is not an "upgrade" from winmo6.5...
No winmo6.5 apps/games work with WP7
The SD wont be seen by your PC (feature of WP7)
WP7 may not even recognise your sd card.
to check on WP7 goto:
Settings/About
Total Storage should be approx < xxGB (your SD card size...)
You need Zune installed instead of Windows Mobile Device Centre to sync stuff.
Thanks for your reply. What I meant to say is that 6.5 is history and I managed to install Win7. In checking Settings/About it only shows 15.73 MB of space. If thats the case then the 16GB os memory card that came with the phone its...useless? Or do I need a diff SD?

Try a hardreset, Hold Vol Up&Down when you see the 1,2,3,4 on MAGLDR.
This happens sometimes where windows doesnt correctly format/see your card. It could also be that your card isnt compatible.
I'll be damned. Doing a hard reset and holding Volume Up at 1234 on MAGLDR......gave me back my SD card. Sweet. You are the man. Thanks for all your help.
Hey guys, I'm about to pick up a used HD2 and I was wondering if i could use it with my data plan. I currently have a 25$ android data plan with my mytouch3g. If i put my sim card into the hd2, will it work with on 3g. I just don't want to be charged extra by tmobile. Also, if I install android on it, will i be able to use gps and google navigation and the app marketplace? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you will be able to use gps and google navigation and marketplace. Just select correctly version of Anrdroid build which will support all all above mentioned features.
if i install android using the NAND method and the sd card method, will it erase windows mobile? and if i erase windows mobile will i be able to restore it later?

Via NAND, yes, you will erase WM but it is easily restored if you load any of the stock or custom WM ROMs. Via SD, it will have WM and Android running. Android on the SD card and WM still on the phone. You can choose which operating system you want to run upon boot.

If you will install using NAND method - you will loose your WM exactly. If you will use SD method - you can keep your WM and from WM start an Android.
Recommend before yours tries to have downloaded proper stock rom to be able restore everything.
so if i do erase windows mobile to install android, i can just flash the stock rom on it to erase android and get it back to normal?
Hello,
What's the working options for SD-Boot?
Best regards.

IMHO, SD build is not for daily use. Battery drains fast and SD card warms up and causes lags all the time.
BTW, you can flash back WM on any time, even without a PC, you just need a file
photimg.nbh with your WM ROM on SD card root folder.
Prepare a high capacity memory card.
You don't need to boot from SD anymore, booting from SD is not stable,it will slow down the speed.
I had been thinking of Dualboot, but it looks like still not available yet,but be patient,it might be available in the future.
So why not just use this ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677950
A lot of ROMs over there. Try it out! I'm using CM Scream, nearly perfect!
I recommended you to buy a high capacity memory card so you can install android apps to card instead of internal memory. They have a lot of FREEBIES for you to install compared to windows mobile.
Google search for original rom if you want to use back the Windows Mobile 6.5.3
No USB
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my phone's USB port, so is there a way to install the NAND version from SD card?? Without having an Active Sync connection to the PC??
Thanks
About usb connection
currently,it looks like quite confused.Anyway, you can use wifi to connect to your android instead.
Use AirDroid (FREE) It is really useful and easy!!You will like it!! USB is more trouble than it.

Hey, thanks for the tip. It looks useful but only AFTER I get android My problem is that I want to install android, but don't have USB. I know there are SD card versions, but those are not good for daily use. The card heats up and there are a lot of breaks and freezes. So I'm asking if there is a way to install a ROM (Nand) from SD card.
Suggestion
USE:
CARD READER(MEMORY CARD TO PC)/ Connect your Windows Mobile to PC via WiFi (Download by using your Windows Mobile/Connect to PC) Remote Desktop or something like that??I never use it so I'm not sure.
Or do you have another Android in your windows mobile already? If have, you can download Airdroid and copy the files from PC to your MEMORY CARD and then uninstall the SD version of android then install the NAND android.(quite tricky)

For example, there is a way to flash a new ROM (WM) from SD. You extract the contents of the EXE file and rename the RUU_Signed.nbh to PHOTIMG.nbh and run bootloader. Isn't there something similar for the Android OS ROMs??? I'm sure it's more or less the same procedure.

AFAIK, it's not possible. ROM requires some digital signing to run.
Even custom WM ROMs you could not install from SD for the same reason.
Hi
I just wanted to know what operating system beside windows mobile 6.5 I can install on a HD2 without an SD-card?
I know it's the best to get an SD-card for installing something else than WM6.5, but I get the HD2 tomorrow and the SD-card arrives to the retailer on Monday, so I can't wait to get going. I mostly wanted to install Android 4.x.x on it, but from what I read, it's almost impossible to install Android on it without an SD-card.
Welp, you can't install Android on SD, that's for sure, and installing WP7 without it is not a good idea since the OS takes majority of internal memory and you are left few megabytes. You can also install some old Android ROMs which are distributed not through zips, but through special exe files which are compatible with magldr. The rest (which is all the newer ROMs) needs to be installed through recovery which needs SD card to install it.
