Today I purchased my Acer Iconia A500 to mount in my car as my all-in-one radio deck. Its mounted straight up in portrait mode with the rotation lock on. My only problem is when I open the market, it automaticaly goes to landscape.
Does anyone know how to browse the market app in portrait?
Thank you in advance!
Market is only in landscape, I think (sorry for my english)

Google Navigator crashes when you rotate phone in landscape mode, it's a bug for mine one and many other HTC Wildfire from italy.
I have the same problem (Netherlands). The google navigator always crashes on startup and especially when turning into landscape mode. I hope there is a fix for this...

Hi everybody, I've got the same problem and I have no idea about how to fix it...any suggestions ?
The only way I can make it working is by disabling the rotation, this works fine
As everyone who is using opera mini on the transformer 3.2 knows, there is a bug. Basically, when you open up the keyboard, the screen won't resize once the keyboard is hidden. Here is how to fix this.
Go into settings -> applications -> manage applications. Find opera mini and click it. Scroll down and check the box besides Android Compatibility mode. Force stop opera mini. That's it! Bug sqashed!
Cheers,
Stephane.
nice.working properly now.
Has anyone found an application that allows/works for searching OPDS Catalogs? When ever I search with FBReader my NTG will reboot itself. I have always used FBReader on my tablets and phones and the search works fine on them. I recently bought 2 NST and another NTG for the rest of the family. I have not tested this on a NST but my NTG will not search with 1.2.1 firmware nor would it search when I had an earlier version. I have also tried Cool Reader and it does not seem to search though it does not cause the NTG to reboot. I could not get Aldiko or Moon to install to test them.
Anyone have any ides/thoughts?

I will install and try FBReaderJ tonight and see if it works.
I am not holding my breath based on this issue on the github for FBReaderJ:

Search Crashes OS on Nook

Running a search on a rooted Nook causes the OS to crash and re-boot - every time.

This is exactly what I get.
I did try the latest version of fbreaderj and it still caused the device to reboot when doing searches on OPDS catalogs...
Just wanted to let everyone know that the nook versions of Page Turner Epub Reader in this forum does work for searching. I do wish it supported adding more than one OPDS catalog though.

Hello I was able to make all my apps on the FireTV start in landscape at launch.
App needed:
Ultimate Rotation Control 5.30
Ultimate Rotation Control license (purchase from the Playstore)
Extract the apks(app and license) from a rooted device using Root Explorer
Push both onto the FireTV
In app, set the Global setting to portrait mode.
All your apps that tend to launch in portrait mode now start in landscape mode.

Why would someone want fire TV apps to launch in portrait mode? Then you can't see then?

You are correct. I must have been half sleep when writing this. This meant for landscape and not for portrait. Not going to get any usable function when an app is cut off or vertical.
Here is another app - Rotate Screen Orientation. XDA members can get the full version for free. Works perfect on FireTV, and loads on startup.
Here is a link to the xda page. All links in the first post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2331514

Free is good.
..
I'm using the same app for months now and havent noticed that it would be responsible for hogging the adb connection channel.
Its much more likely, that the app you used to push/install it hasn't exited the adb session cleanly (apps2fire for example is notorious for this behavior).
Anyway - sometimes, although very infrequently *some* app hogs the adb connection in my case as well - in those cases I have resorted to https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.wifiadb to toggle adb off and on again. (root required) - because its a bit faster than to do the same via the built in adb toggle Amazon provides.
So - at least its not normal for the "Rotate Screen Orientation" app to block the adb channel on a regular basis, in my experience.

Just giving everyone a heads up. This app works great. However, if it's running in the background, you'll be unable to sideload any other apk via adb. Just make sure you force stop this app prior to sideloading anything else.
Unless I'm the only one having this issue...

Yea I think it may be just you as I've had rotate screen orientation installed for about a year and have never had to force stop it to sideload anything. I've had to either force stop firestarter or disable then re-enable adb debugging in ftv settings a handful of times to sideload apks when I've had those issues.
Maybe someone will be able to help me with the problem with the SwiftKey keyboard. So one by one. I've always used an older version of the app. But because of the gradual out of the possibility of logging in I used version 7.4.0.18 (somehow like that), but in the end and in it stopped working the option to log in (authentication error). And now yes. This version I have as copies in titanun backup. If I can restore it works but after some reset unless it is logged out of the account and can no longer log in (I must I have to restore its data from tb again). When he wants to install a higher version outside OF SUCH STORES AS GOOGLE PLAY, AC MARKET and APTOIDE then either I can not install it (message that the application was not interested), or some miracle installs but when trying to turn it on shows error that has been stopped.
And now the most interesting. I can install this keyboard Through the aforementioned stores (i.e. Google Play, ac market and Aptoide, but if I do it with the last two (that is, ac market and aptoide), then the keyboard is only in English (it is not about writing and for example gifs that are signed in that English language), I have so on the tablet (Lenovo tab 3 8' plus ) and phone (samsung galaxy a8 2018). Previously, everything worked properly. The format does not help. The strange thing is that this happens on two devices.
