Be still unsigned, you can`t flash it to a productions phone. only engineering phones are allowed.

yes, can only be flashed to engineering devices.
Thank you for your contribution to Milestone2.
I don't see any "[2.3 Leak] complete .sbf of Official GB ROM"
ARE YOU KIDDING OR WHAT?!!!!
not kidding, please be reading my post carefully.
Thank you for bringing it here, uploading it to international file host service is too troubling for me. What I want to point out is that even it's unsigned, we can depack anyway, maybe we can repack a system.img and boot.img.
Or you can try to force flashing or fake your phone as a prototype, neither way is in my reach.

I am sorry, but although I am happy that 2.3 is finally leaking I only see China Retail instead of UK something in the filename. Additionally, what can be achieved with this sbf? Can it be signed afterwards, will it be flashable somehow? Thanks.
In China GB is just short for GuoBiao, mean's national standard for character not the Great Britain.

I mean GingerBread here......
can it flash by sbf_flash in Linux? I see the sbf_flash can flash boot.img by "sbf_flash -r -d --boot boot.img"... Is it true?
PS. sorry for my English.
It's time about time MS2 got GB!! Can't wait for the official version.
Will my phone be functional once I flash it since the leak is based in China (I think?) and I'm from US? Functional meaning phone data and calls/texts (phone service). I want to know before I flash!
Thanks.

This ROM is unsigned. And because of that fact, RSD Lite won't let you flash it onto the phone.

Well, if you got a developer phone you can flash it.
Some others managed to flash another .sbf of the 2.3 leak onto their phones which refused to boot properly.
I have a developers phone, except I think my phone is in a boot loop anyways I just flashed it and I'm not sure if it's just supposed to take this long the first time booting up, bc it took a while in the past. My boot-up image is the same as before and it keeps repeating. I'm gonna wait a little more, pull the battery ( ) if no results and do a hard factory reset with the new .sbf
Did you erase the cache through android recovery?

dammit no. I forgot! ughhh. What can I do? The hard factory reset isn't working. Should I flash my old sbf?
EDIT:
Took forever, pressing the search key doesn't open the android recovery menu anymore.. i basically hit all the keys like an idiot until it popped up. I think it was both volume keys at the same time that did it. I wiped cache and then did a factory reset and it works beautifully.
ONE PROBLEM.
Forgot China had issues with Facebook and Google, so you can't hook up those two accounts.. which is very important to me.. so no Gmail unless you use a 3rd party app from market which I'm looking up now. Don't know if I really like that.
Oh, long story short. I got it
How come you have a developer phone? Yes, try to flash last or working sbf and then wipe cache before updating

What do you mean... erase everything? How?
Possible steps:
1. factory reset from H-Boot, see if it boots up normally, then re-root.
2. Install PD15IMG from development section, look it up.
Good luck.

Which recovery did you have installed and which h-boot
Did you try seeing if you could s-off through adb? Im not sure if this will work but Download the files you need to get s-off from ur computer and put it on ur SD card via a card reader or some sort, after you get the necessary files put the SD card back into ur phone. Hook it up to ur computer and maybe you can s-off through adb if you can get ur computer to recognize ur phone. Then IF it works, download a rom via computer to it SD card and boot into recovery and flash. Let me know what happens if it works or not

Should have taken my advice from this thread.
I just went thru the same thing and couldn't restore any of the backups it just kept getting stuck on the flash screen. I downloaded the ice glacier rom on to a spare sd card and flashed it thru hboot recovery and it looks like that did the trick.
hi guys if you still cant get your phones working try mobiletechvideos.com, they fixed my phone , my phone wouldn`t do anything .good reliable service, yes its in texas.
Although you didnt create any backups, is it possible that someone can create a backup of a fresh ROM and send that to you?

Just take the SD card and put a new ROM on it. Then go to recovery, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalkik cache.
Then install zip from sd card and find it.
I like using Royal Panache 1.3.
I think it's stock Mobilicity ROM but no stock software from carrier. Good stuff.
MIUI and Cyanogenmod 7.1 are also good candidates.
I'm currently testing out ICS and you can test it out as well (but in your case, probably try a working one first =P) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383629&page=1

So I was told to install the deodexed [sp] of the GB leak, so I did on top of my rooted, non deodexed version, without wiping. After this I wiped my data a few times, as I heard it would be best to do. Well, after doing so... my phone won't stop bootlooping. I can't access the bootstrapped bootloader, only the stock Moterola one, and I cleared my data with it hoping it would work too...
Help please? How do I "sbf" back to stock or whatever?
Yeah, I don't think it was possible to go from orginial GB leak straight to the rooted one.
You will need RSDLite 4.8 or higher and 2.3.340 sbf file. Both should be easily findable with a Google search. Follow SBF instructions from there.

you have to sbf to .340 use z4 root to root then install DX bootstraper reboot to recovery flash gbrooted.zip if you get stuck in bootloop go into factory recovery and wipe data reboot download and install D2 bootstrapper yes D2, boot into recovery and flash gbrooteddeodexed.zip and let it try and boot it SHOULD bootup after a couple of minutes, if it doesnt get into stock recovery and wipe data, reboot
also it could bootloop because of corrupt downloads

I'd just like to point out that you don't actually need rsd lite 4.8 or higher. 4.7 has worked perfectly for me the several times I have SBF'ed
I had a new phone on 2.3.4. The first thing I tried to do was to unlock it by RSD flashing the unlock sbf from the main pudding thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261).
The initial process seemed to go okay, but I think when the phone was supposed to reboot, it ended up giving me a boot failure message (0x1000, if I remember correctly).
So, I tried the "fastboot oem unlock" command anyway, and it worked.
I tried to RSD flash the full 2.3.4 sbf from brandon15811's thread, but RSD gave an error, something about not being able to find the handle or something.
So, the next thing I did was to see if I could flash RomRacer's CWM via fastboot, and that seemed to work, too.
After that, if I tried to reboot, I would get the motorola startup screen and the word "unlocked", but it just seems to stay there.
I'm about to see if I can use the recovery to flash the full 2.3.4 sbf from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138204).
Is that the right way to try to fix this, or is there something else I should try?

Unlocking an atrix already on 2.3.4 will give you a soft brick, its been confirmed many times. No way around it. Find the fruit cakes thread as msd24200 stated. Any recovery will work. If you do the full 2.3.4 sbf you can't rds back to an older build our even if you try the 2.3.4, that would give you a hard brick. If your unlocked just go for one of the great roms available.

I did a lot of reading before doing this, and somehow, I never came across that particular fact. Ai! Well, thank you for pointing that out!
So, here's a question then... I have another phone that has 1.83 on it. What's the best way to upgrade that to 2.3.4, unlocked and rooted? Should I follow the same path I did here, do the OTA update, unlock and brick via the unlock sbf, flash a recovery, then apply a fruitcake?
Or is there a better way? I've heard that the 2.3.4 update resizes the partitions, and that seems like a good thing, so I'm not sure I want a path that avoids that.
What do you think?

Unce I've unlocked the phone on 1.8.3, would it be better to do the OTA update for 2.3.4, and then root? Is this even possible?
One important question, if I apply the CWM fruitcake over 1.83. will it resize the partitions the way the OTA update would?

I don't believe so, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in all honesty there is no reason to use fruitcakes if you don't plan on going back to an older build. Even if you mess something up flashing roms you can go into recovery and restore a backup and your good to go. The only way I've seen a hardbrick is from going back with rsd.
I would unlock then ota to 2.3.4 then install romracers cwm and then your free to flash pre rooted stock roms or cherry (3.14) or alien rom.

Nevermind 10char
I could see flashing back to an older build beneficial to a developer but not your everyday user and rom flasher. Both methods will get you to the same place, fruitcake or ota. I know there are benefita doing the ota like partition size and some other tweaks but I'm not 100% what those benefits are.
I jumped in early and got the leaked ota before we knew of the hard brick issue and like I said I'm still rocking the same atrix I bought back in march.

Bootloops means soft bricks which is not really a problem. When your phone Boots up, press the down key along worth the power button. Then keep pressing down button until you see Android Recovery. Do a factory reset or flash another room once in there.

Sounds like a hard brick indeed. At this moment in time hard bricks are incurable but some people said that taking their battery out and putting it back into their phones solved their problem. You might want to give it a shot.
A guy also claimed thay its possible to unhardbrick your phone using the jtag technique. You might want to read up on it.

There's soo many forums and different avenues to go down! after about 9 hours trying various things to make my atrix (running normal 2.3.4 rooted with no other cm7 or rom or any other mod) i am left with my atrix at the boot screen OR if i leave it to boot it just makes the logging on noises then shows the white screen, then nothing.
I stupidly followed the list to freeze using bloatfreezer. Not the updated list where it reads next to HOME (make sure you have another launcher) so i have frozen 'home' and i am stuck.
i cannot do a recovery because it has that fail message x2 everytime i do the power volume - and + on the android recov.
I am completely lost. i do not understand what hard/soft/adw/ push email/ or other jargon means. If you have any solutions i'd be more than grateful.
I hope i haven't bricked my phone, cos a 2year contract and no new phone is gonna push me near that ledge lol

I'd recommend starting a new thread w/ your issue. It's more likely to be seen and answered by someone who could help.

If you're on AT&T - get RSD lite and find the proper sbf file and flash it. If you were using Gingerbread, make SURE you have a GINGERBREAD sbf file - or else you'll permanently brick your phone. If you're on Bell - you'll need the appropriate file for Bell to flash, same rules apply - If your on gingerbread, make SURE its a gingerbread file you're flashing.

Hey guys, i have a few weeks experience flashing and all that leet stuff, but it seems i have a problem! I started to modify my ATRIX on 2.3.4, i unlocked sim, rooted, unlocked bootloader, and flashed custom recovery. I played around with a few roms, then i decided to update my fw to 2.3.6, well before i could do that i had to undo all mods so i ended up flashing a stock 2.3.4 fw and upgraded OTA. Im pretty sure that was my mistake... i may have needed an unlocked 2.3.6 sbf.. i re-rooted, and flashed cwm with rom manager, now when i go to boot in recovery mode i get failed to boot 2 starting rsd protocol. Everything is fine i just need to know where i messed up and how to get cwm running again. P.S. ive also been having an issue with my camera! I open the cam app and i get black screen, factory reset does NOT fix! Ive seen post's saying that the module is bad if that does not work BUT, when using flashlight app the flash lights up for a sec and then shuts off. When i switch to front camera it will stop responding, i'll click wait and after a min it will show image and i can take a pic(only with front cam). If i could get both issues solved i would be very grateful! If any other info is needed ill be sure to respond asap! Thank you in advanced for reading and assisting with my issues!

Get the cwm recovery img & flash with Fastboot and that should fix your recovery.

Thanks for a reply but I did that as well and ended up getting an error. "Failed to process command flash:recovery error(0x180002)". I tried this method at first, received that error then tried to flash cwm through rom manager and recieved failed to boot2 starting rsd protocol.

Try unlocking bootloader again just to make sure ... Maybe that factory firmware closed hole on you when flashed.. Then flash cwm image ....

+1. You'll always need to re-flash pudding BL after using an .sbf.

adding to this: the automatic unlocker should work for you too. I had to re-unlock my phone after Motorola upgraded it when it was out for repairs. Worked like a charm.
(IF you're on AT&T)
