Mine does!!! I tried many roms and it still shut itself down when it is in sleep mode or sometime restart. This happends about 50% when I leave it sleep, sometimes just a short period of time like 10 seconds.
Is this a software or hardware problem????

Hi All,
I'm experiencing a major issue with my HD. it will self shut down or switch off after entering standby mode, ranging from few minutes to few hours (3 hours to be precise, the last time). Is there anyone having the same issue? if yes, is there anyway to solve this?
please help.
regards,
sanchez
Check if the battery is properly fixed. I mean, that it doesn't move. If it doesn't a perfect contact, as soon as you move or touch the device a bit harder than usual, it can turn itself off.

i did and still it shuts down.. it shuts down randomly in standby mode, ranging from few minutes to hours (maximum 8 hrs so far). the seller refused to replace mine because
1) the phone didnt shut off in standby mode when they were checking it
2) they refused to test it for a longer time
I have the same problm. Every now and then it will shut down and reboot. Annoying when the phone wakes me up in the middle of the night (htc boot-sound)

yours actually reboots itself? mine only shut down / switch off by itself. my only self found solution is by deactivating standby mode, so the phone will go the stage of switching backlight off but screen is still visible... its draining the battery =(
It's not that strange that the phone reboots, that is what happens if a program crashes.
If your seller won't test it for a longer time, try going to an HTC point.

Actually that was what happened with my Diamond. Even hard-resetting the phone did not help.
I sent it back for repairs twice, but the problem persisted.
You device might be faulty, if a hard-reset does not solve the problem.
My hd2 is giving me problems with the battery draining so quickly even when connected via usb and tethered...I noticed that even if i hit the end call button or use a power control app for "screen off" or "standby" within a minute or two the screen is back on.
Before anyone asks activesync is set to update every 4 hours and weather/stock etc is set for 30 minutes to an hour but I still don't think these should make the screen turn back on...I'm at the point I'm about ready to write a mortscript which will run the screen off command every 30 seconds so my phone can recharge the battery.
The same problem has occured with 2 different roms (6.5.x)....kumar's and the 05/13 elegancia rom.
Any ideas? It's worse when carrying phone because it's turning on in the holster on my belt and battery is draining like crazy.
any solution to this? happens to me pretty often when i let it sleep for a while. it helps if i don't leave wifi on, but sometimes even with it turned off i'll have to reboot. and the battery tends to drain a lot when it happens as well
The same here, but i solved (kinda) by setting the tablet to Airplane Mode before "suspend" ...
Seems to be something on the area of Hardware Related issues.
That's why maybe they set a reset button ... have never seen any of those on other tablets so ...
Mine is always in airplane mode.
Didn't even realise there was a reset button I just hold power for10 seconds then power on
So the problem is on SOME OCCASION,
the phone doesnt automatically sleep given i set the sleep time to 30 sec, which causes major drainage in my battery life. I use go SMS, and i turned on the msg pop up, it would turn on my screen but wouldnt turn off after the 30 sec. Or let say after i read a email but left it on the table as i assume it will turn off automatically after a given amount of time, it would remain on. So im not sure what's causing it any solution?
All,
I've got a stock Nexus 6P, Android 6.0.1, build MHC19Q.
Sometimes the phone will go to sleep and sometimes it won't. In the settings, Display Sleep setting I have 30 seconds as the value, but I've seen my phone stay on for way longer, sometimes until I hit the power button.
I've tried several changes to the time but it doesn't seem to help the times it stays on, it just changes the time for the sleep when it does work.
To explain exactly, when I stop using my phone and I'm on the home screen, if I leave the phone alone for several minutes, it will not sleep, no matter what value I put in the setting. Other times it seems to sleep without a problem.
I've not been able to determine if some app is holding it awake, and I don't see any pattern the would point to any other condition that keeps the phone awake.
I looking for additional ideas to troubleshoot the problem, it just stays on and runs down the battery.
Ideas?

Download and install GSAM. It will tell you specifically which app is keeping the screen on.
If it days Android, System, or Media Playback is the highest, it may be a tweak / custom rom / kernel issue.
