How did the update come?

I updated mine via zune at midnight last night, read about the update on winpcentral.
Same as Op
Firmware 1.0.10.10
Hardware 1.0.0.0
Radio Soft 1.0.10.10
Radio Hard 0.3.5.0
Bootloader 1.5.1.0
Chip SOC 0.30.2.0

How did you guys update? Zune isn't showing any updates yet

I forgot the phone overnight with the 3g turned on and saw the update notification when i woke up, connected it to zune and updated straight away
Read that it improves call quality/battery life and the screen responsivness or something, indeed it seems to be slightly faster when scrolling.
I can't post the link, there are more details at winrumors.com

I haven't gotten the update yet and Zune says I have the latest version.
I wonder if it's because I did the Registry-Unlock-Forever-Hack? Have the ppl who already got the update unlocked their phones in any way?
Btw, I'm on open market v 1.0.2.10

guessing i wont see this update, with me being on mango beta..

I have the unlock aswell, so it's maybe something region related ? ( I'm from Romania )

Well I relocked it (and changed the Mobile-Operator-String to VOD-DE) but still nothing.
Hope they haven't just forgotten about the open market devices...
I'm from Germany and I read other German phones got it (but they are branded ones)

I'm from Belgium and I have an unbranded phone with German firmware on it. No update here

Great update
I am in Canada with Telus haven't had the update long enough to test battery out but the call quality and connection is WAY better. In area's where before the phone struggled to even find a signal it now has 4 of 5 bars area's where before it'd have 3 it's got 5. great updated hope for everyone else it isn't just helping out telus if you haven't plugged into Zune and updated yet get on it.

LG E900
Using the LG E900 unlocked (Vodafone) from Amazon USA. AT&T USA 3G.
Received update when I connected to Zune desktop. Less than half hour. Can't really see any significant changes but I notice that vertical scrolling is improved. Didn't have it long enough to really notice.
USA, AT&T, update complete!
Sent from my LG-E900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App

i want this update also

Any chance your phone is dev unlocked, or on the Mango beta? I'm with Telus as well, but haven't gotten any updates yet. My phone is on Mango, and unlocked.

An unbranded UK phone here, still on build 7392 and firmware 1.0.3.10 - no updates to be found so far...

greetings from argentina, im waiting for the update too, this is mi actual firmware info
os version 7.0.7392.0
firmware revision 1.0.1.11
harware revision 1.0.0.0
transmition software version 1.0.1.11
hardware transmition version 0.3.5.0
boot version 1.5.1.0
chip SOC version 0.30.2.0
i have an LG E900h from PERSONAL company and i still haven't the update on my zune
the fun fact is that a friend of mine have the same phone bought on the same company the same day as mine, he already updated his phone but im still waiting for my update.
one more thing, i did a total format of my phone a few weeks ago using the info on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935578 using the corresponding firmware version PERSONAL ARGENTINA BIN_LG-E900hAT-00-V10a-722-34-JAN-28-2011+1
this maybe the reason for the update is still skipping me ????
if anyone have any more info on why the update is being doing on some phones and others don't please share it
many many thanks

Same situation with fw euro open that i flash instead of vod de. No update.
It's not a question of unlock because i tried to relock but nothing happen

I had my phone's operator set to the numerical one for unbranded recognition. As soon as I changed it back to Telus, it magically gave me the update in Zune. One thing other that what is stated above I noticed was the defaults in the Camera app have changed ... For example, Smart Scene is on by default.

Still waiting for the update

Orange UK Froyo release started?

Hi all,
I and my business partner got the Galaxy s at the same time, within 3 days of each other.
He plugged his in the other night and managed to get the Froyo update.
So it looks like Orange are starting to roll it out to selected users.
However when I try an update through Kies on mine I get 'This devices version cannot be updated' message.
I phoned Orange and they told me their system was saying it would be released 'Very soon' and she thought that his updated because they were rolling it out to a select few first. Which I can understand...roll it out to a few and see how many ring up complaining. Only thing is, how would that gauge anything, as surley the majority of users wouldn't even hit the firmware update button to check or even care if there was an update.
He didn't receive any Text message saying it was ready, he just tried it by luck.
So my question it, if I post his device codes, is there a way to get the Official Orange update via Kies?
Many thanks
Logicalstep
I always thought froyo updates were based on Product codes nothing more so its available for one Orange handset then all orange branded ones would get it. It could be that your mate/co-worker simply doesn't have an orange branded one and his phone was sim free? Check both your product codes and see if thye match.
Or you had a different version of firmware than your friend and your version was one that's not listed in Kies database and you will never get update that way.
I had this having JG5 software - it was saying my firmware cannot be updated. Once I tricked Kies to say I have JF-something, I was immediately offered JM1 (newest 2.1). Now on JM1 he properly says I have the newest version.
I had that JG5 directly from the shop. I think the service guys in my country were flashing newest firmware on the phones including internal beta releases that are later not recognized by Kies and accidentaly this blocks updates.
Definitely Orange branded. I'm not 100% sure what his firmware was before flashing, so can;t answer that.
If there is anyone here who knows the UK Orange product code that has successfully updated their phone, Please let us know what it was.

T-Mobile UK Stock Rom (PDA, Phone, CSC)

Could anyone with a new (before any updates, with the 7004 os version) T-Mobile UK Omnia 7 please verify what PDA / Phone / CSC does the handset come out of the box with??? Please DON'T provide the version numbers listed under Settings->About, I want the I8700xxzz codes.
You can find that info by entering the Diagnosis menu (dialing ##634#) and then *#1234#
I think that would be a useful piece of info just in case we need to send the device back.
I can tell you what mine came out of the box with on Orange UK, which I would guess may be the same since the two companies are so closely linked.
on .7004 i had...
PDA: ends with JID
Phone: ends with JIC
CSC: ends with JID
If you do a search through this thread i saw a guy saying he had JJ4 firmware on his early release t-mobile UK Omnia.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963285&highlight=update&page=9
These not alot of point in listing this info, due to the facts that the firmware the phone has, depends on when it was released.
Plus if your phone came with the orignal firmware and was latter updated to NoDo, then it went wrong. T-Mobile (and the other Phone companies) would still Repair/Replace it.
Point in case My Omnia (Oct 2010) has JJ4 firmware.
My mates Omnia (Feb 2011) has JJ6, both are T-Mobile contract phones.
Judging from the fact that Ι got my phone just recently, and it had the 7004 os version, I kinda thought that they wouldn't have updated any phones in stock firmware-wise as well, and that they all had one out-of-the-factory firmware. Apparently that isn't the case.
This is just a guess, so keep a bucket of salt handy
When the phones leave the Samsung factory they have the lastest Firmware and possibly the lastest Retail OS versions.
Then when the phones arrive at the Network Provider, they wipe the 'Retail' OS and use their own 'Branded' OS image.
Which in the case of T-Mobile UK could still be the original one from last October, hence your new phone still had 7004 installed.

Firmware and 4g update

hi all.
i bought my note 3 from three uk in about oct. i flashed the stock samsung firmware which rid it of the three branding and should have opened it up to getting faster updates. it shows in kies as PDA:MJ7 PHONE:MJ7 CSC:MJ4 (H3G)
unless i'm mistaken, it is still showing some of the effects of being bought from Three, the (h3g) bit. will this stop me getting an update? it still says no software update available both on phone and via kies.
also, any idea when and how i should receive the 4g update as 4g is now in my area, birmingham?
thanks

I think you should wait for a bit. Although I can't get a full comprehensive reply from 3 in the UK I'm now being told a carrier update enables 4G and although it's available in some areas it's still rolling out. I'm in exactly the same position as you and updated my phone to the Polish rom in the thought that the LTE option would be available in the settings (it still isn't) and there's still an amount of confusion surrounding the whole process. I'm going to give up and wait till something concrete emerges. If you get anywhere with it I'd appreciate a pm or update and I'll return the favour if I do :good:

Thanks jdomadia. My handset is a sim free model, CSC united emirates flashed with Polish KK rom. I doubt I would see a benefit to flashing a branded 3 KK rom on my device?

No So far Poland firmware is problem free & stable so not advisable to unnecessarily flash another.
No problem.
Any idea on the 4.4.2 update?
Go to Settings-About phone-Software Update & check for OTA update, otherwise connect to Kies & try for H3G Kitkat is available now.
tried both those methods and neither allows update. both say latest firmware installed

Any benefit using newest EU vs RU?

Hello,
Currently I have the latest RU installed with twrp and rooted on top of it. I was wondering if there are any benefits to going back to the EU version? I saw that people are having problems with the EPD so I'm not looking forward to that.
Cheers!
Is there anything you would gain by moving to EU version? Are there more languages (I'm assuming RU has at least Russian and English)?
My unit wasn't shipped yet but after reading about EU firmware issues I'm looking at RU as more stable option...

BUMP
I'm currently on the latest RU firmware, but I concider moving to EU version.
On RU there are only 6 avaliable dictionaries for EPD screen: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian - are there more on EU?
I looked in the LatinIME_EPD.apk in the system.img of both the RU and EU firmware but both seem to support the same languages.
Code:
empty.dict
main.dict
main_de.dct
main_en.dict
main_es.dict
main_fr.dict
main_it.dict
main_pb_br.dict
main_ru.dict
setup_welcome_image.png
setup_welcome_video.mp4
I also found some apps that are in the EU firmware but not in the RU. Going to check what these do.
Update:
Nothing much in the extra EU apps. Most seem to be internal, the only thing of note is that the EU firmware still contains the Instagram EPD widget which seems removed from the RU firmware. Installing the APK on the RU firmware seems to work fine but I haven't tested it with a Instagram account.
I'm on EU 1.1.124b which doesn't have the Instagram EPD widget.
Does anyone have the apk?
Saying that I think they removed it because Instagram updated their security on june 1st.
Can anyone test it please?

I'm also on the latest EU 1.1.124b. I thought about upgrading to the newer RU, but it seems like developers are still working on that version. Also there are some smaller bugs it seems.
I think I will wait for an updated EU version. 1.1.124b EU runs fine so far. All in all a great phone for 130€! Just sad, that there is not much 3rd party support for the e-ink display.
Mine is due to arrive tomorrow, I have spent days on the tracking service, it makes you go a little crazy. I prepared all the USB drivers and ROM on my PC. There will probably a blip in users on here because of the continuing price drops, mine was 136USD only. Looking forward to flashing the ROMs, hopefully without any problems.

Have fun tomorrow!!
I missed the call from the delivery company because phone volume was on 0, so now waiting until Monday.
When you have installed the USB drivers on the PC, how to check if they are working OK? I tried installing drivers for another handset to practice for the yotaphone, I installed USB drivers on my PC, I can see them with device driver "Android composite adb interface" , albeit with an error code 10 (I think). When I try to run fast boot from PC connected to the phone in fastboot mode, using "fastboot devices" command, there is nothing there.

I think on the YotaPhone this is controlled by software instead of hardware. I bought the 206 but after flashing it with the RU firmware it is now a 201. There are also some people on the forum who have successfully changed the radio in a firmware with the radio from another firmware. This seems to suggest that there is one hardware version and the available LTE bands are controlled by software. However, I am not an expert on this and this is just my observation.
Yes I live in Asia, so Chinese LTE bands are better for my location in Thailand anyway. The yd206 firmware cannot be updated OTA and has poor software compared to international version where you can do an OTA. Flashing can be difficult , correct driver setup took me 2 days. I am very happy now to have flashed Russian firmware and look forward to fly on Aeroflot. (Hehe).
There are many more yotaphone apps now on the lollipop. I flashed to a Russian KitKat first and then did an OTA to get a mammoth 1Gb download . But happy now and elated to have got over the technical problems of drivers. Now to learning about yotaphone . When I charge the phone, it automatically starts the phone, wasting battery and time which I found annoying.
Could you please write steps on how to update YD206 to Russian firmware?

There is also anecdotal evidence of people who changed to yd201 and found out their LTE was not working properly, so to fix it they had to replace the RADIO folder with the RADIO folder from the Chinese firmware and re-flash. You can probably find that thread somewhere on here.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Cannot get 2/3/4g radio signal to work (VS995), UK user.

This is driving me nuts and I've spent far too much time on this. About a year ago I was happily using a 3rd party rom with little or no issues. I then got a new phone and retired my V20 VS995 and reverted back to stock rom (Android 7) and was planning to sell it but for some reason the mobile bands weren't working, after messing around with it and getting nowhere I gave up and put it in a drawer.
Last week I pulled it back out to try and get it working but again didn't get anywhere and again this weekend I thought I'd try again. But lone behold, it downloaded 3 security updates ranging in size from 100-250gb and a major system OS update to Oreo of about 2Gb!! I thought to myself "I'm on to a winner here as the major update is bound to install the correct radio firmware and all will be well".
But no this phone seems hell bent on sending me to an early grave. I cannot get it to pick up mobile phone signals. What to do? :crying:
