Reading pdf with colored diagrams - Nook Touch General

How does it do with pdfs with diagrams and images? Is it viewable and clear? Any suggestions for pdf reading if not this one?

From my experience, using android apps like ezPDF Reader or Repligo Reader, the issue is not visibility - which is good IMO, but scrolling, which is laggy and not precise.
A wider screen of a tablet would be better for you specific purpose.

That is a deal breaker thanks

If you plan on doing a lot of PDF picture / technical manual viewing I'd get a nook color.

[Q] Web browsing and article reading

I have a Transformer and a Kindle. I like how quickly I can browse the web on the TF, but it is really nice to read articles and such on an eInk screen. The problem with the Kindle is the browser is much too slow. Is it a decent experience rooting the NST and browsing the web on it with or without the norefresh hack? I currently use Pulse on my Transformer for news reading and I was wondering if anyone is using it on NST and how it works.
Please can someone weigh in on an opinion like what they use on their rooted NST
It works great. You can read fine with and without. Use an rss reader.

I use gReader and it works great without norefresher.

Best PDF Reader App for N7?

Does anyone know a PDF reader for the NEXUS 7 that is really really fast with scrolling and pinch and zoom specifically?
Both Mantano Lite and Adobe Reader do what you are wanting very well. I have found Mantano somewhat more useful for my needs. I suggest you try both since they are free and go with what works best for you.
Mantano Premium & ezPDF Reader & Annotator are my favorite.
I second ezPDF. It's really really nice.

Strangely the Kindle app seems to work better than Adobe Reader for viewing PDFs. Though you do have to open it via an external app like Google Drive unless you send them to your Kindle email address first.
Adobe Reader is the one I trust
ezPDF reader gets my vote. Much faster then Adobe Reader.
I use qpdf because it lets me fill out PDF forms and print them. Adobe reader can do this but for some reason it won't print what I input.

you can try PocketBook reader

Note 10.1 vs Surface Pro for readung and annotating pdf.

Anybody have any input or experience on this?

Quick Office Pro looks like it could help you.

Massive price difference there.

Also massive weight difference, and massive battery length difference. And the screen on the Surface is more widescreen making portrait viewing awkward. Try out the surface and see how well it works for you physically. Can you hold it comfortably for the length of time you need to annotate PDFs? I found it uncomfortable, but find the thin, light (and cheaper) Note to be quite comfortable to hold while I grade student papers.
I will say that I miss PDF Annotator from my windows tablet (and OneNote) but I do love my Note, and have found that LectureNotes and ezPDF do a good job at letting you annotate PDFs. Not quite as nice as PDF Annotator, but pretty darn good. And I think the software will continue to improve, particularly as more s-pen enabled devices get out there.

I wish there is an app combines ezpdf + mantano reader. Ezpdf is great for taking note but Its not smooth as mantano.

You make a lot of good points. The note is indeed very thin and light with great battery.

I got a surface pro today. Very heavy, poor battery life, and so far I have not found a pdf annotation app that is as good as ezpdf. It does scroll through pdfs very quickly though.
Edit: the Surface pro basically gives one the same experience and capability as a tablet pc from the last decade. Due to its weight and poor battery life, its true tablet capabilities are very limited.

Looking for a PDF Reader Apps

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a PDF reader that can spread throughout the screen that wont have any borders at all. I have created a PDF file with 1280x800 resolution but it turn out to have borders when using Adobe's PDF Reader. Any recommendation?

PDF Reader on iPad vs Note

So I returned my iPad air and everything is awesome. But one thing I can't get over is why PDF viewing on the Note 10.1 is so inferior to the iPad .
The Note has a better processor and more Ram, shouldn't the PDF viewing be super smooth? Is it an Android issue where PDF viewing is so slow?
On my iPad I could use GoodReader to open 4 different PDFs and it wouldn't really stutter or lag, but it seems like all the PDF apps for the Note (RepliGo, office suite, Polaris, and more) all seem to have trouble rendering even one PDF. The rendering issue is especially noticeable when skipping around.
Is anyone else as frustrated as me with the PDF situation?

Depends on the reader and the coder imho. I use mantano reader and its super smooth. Ezpdf reader lagged and stuttered on me no matter if I'm on my note 10. 2014, note 2, or my original note 10.1

Try PDF Max for reading, it is the smoothest PDF reader I've ever seen on Android, and it should be just as good as iOS.
Ezpdf, pdf max, or mantano reader, none hold a candle compared to smartq reader, speed wise, and when you skip fast through pages, it renders them smooth and clear, ezpdf is not smooth, pdf max and mantano reader are smooth but they both render the pages in a blurred way then "clear" it up, which I hate. Smartq reader is the only pdf reader that can render the pages fast and clear as they appear

Yes! Thank you so much, smartq is insanely fast. Not the best for annotation, but it's awesome for PDF viewing. I wonder why the other apps can't use a similar rendering engine.

You are welcome! I noticed it's a Chinese app, which comes with some quirks like confirm before exit, but the engine itself is really fast, even when dealing with pure image pdf
