Email problem. I'm receiving emails to my phone for my ntlworld email address, in fact, they get to my phone before they are received on my pc which is normally a few moments later. But when I send emails, it says 'sending..' then disappears so I'd assume it's sent but none of my sent emails appear in my phone's sent folder, the folder is blank and always has been. Also, I sent a test email to myself, to my ntlworld account, same thing, nothing showing in sent folder, and it hasn't arrived as email on my pc. I sent it over half an hour ago. What could be wrong?

I think I found my solution and I'm with T-Mobile, so I'll try out the suggestions in that thread.

My friend has this phone with T-Mobile. The issue that he is seeing is that he can get his emails off the server and send them to the Trash. However, when he tries to delete the messages permanently from trash they disappear from his phone for a short time and then come back. So it would appear that the messages are deleted from his phone but not the server, so when the phone syncs with the server they reappear.
I told him about this site and he has searched for this issue with no luck. I have also searched and have decided to post this for assistance.
Thanks for any help you guys can give us on this.
Edit: I should mention that this is happening with his Comcast email, gmail works fine though.

in the mail setting there is a check box for you asking if you would like to delete then from the server or never delete

He checked this and it does say delete from server when I delete from inbox.
the strange thing is that he switched from this to Never Delete it just went back to his inbox and then he went back in and it was still on "delete from server when I delete from inbox".
He tried again and they still do not delete.
Any other ideas?
email settings
He may need to log in to his email on his computer and see if it has a setting to keep mail on the server after it has been pulled using POP3 or IMAP. I have not used comcast email but that could be an issue.
I was having the same issue on my Nexus One. But to add on to it even when I marked messages as read they kept coming back as unread and was constantly sounding the new email notificatiion. I wiped and set everything up again and continued to have the same problem.
To resolve the issue I just set up to pull from my other yahoo POP accounts in gmail. Now I don't have the read items reaccuring. But I don't have the option now to delete from the yahoo server if I delete in gmail. But I guess I can live with that.
I guess the other email client still needs some fine tunning. But of course gmail works great. Was a little disspointed about this coming from a blackberry but the other pluses really outweighs this little stint.
I sent him your suggestions. He is going to try it soon. I will let you know what happens.
Thanks for all your help.
Comcast hsa an option in their settings to keep mail on server when downloading via POP. have him uncheck that setting in his comcast webmail. This will fix the problem
Lately i've noticed my gmail won't sync. It says i have a new email but wont show it, and it wont load the rest of my read emails. It says no connection even though ive got 3g. And when i tried to add a new gmail account it wouldn't let me. I've been having lots of speed problems and now this so verizon is sending me a replacement. But i wanted to know if its just my phone or anyone else.
I had the same issue with new emails not showing couple of times a few weeks ago. Not sure what it was, but I went around it by searching for "is:unread". That brought it up.
Do you have a second email account fowarded to your gmail account, example I have a yahoo account and messages show up in main gmail inbox and in a specific "label" as gmail calls them for that account.

No I don't. I think I just have a defective phone. All the verizon reps at my store say I do, and so does tech support. They said my data wasn't being used to it's full or something. I've got a new one coming but I don't know how long it will take. The email thing's kinda bothering me. I'll try the is:unread thing. Thanks guys.
I had the same problem. Also wouldn't connect to my pc. I used another droid to make a copy of my sd card. Formatted the card. Reloaded all my stuff and put it back in my DX. Sync works fine and connects to pc everytime.
i am having the same issue and have followed what you have suggested doing with no change

Check the permissions of your apps and see what has access to your account info. Please don't tell me you loaded Applanet, that app has access to all your accounts. Anyhow, good luck and change all your account passwords, and look when you install apps to see what your giving them access to.

Another common possibility: Your email addy has been spoofed by the original sender, resulting in your account getting the responses vs the original sender. This is a very common trick with spammers, and generally prevents their own account from getting blocked. Email has long been very weak to this type of exploit.
Since Hotmail is an online service, you should be able to check your Sent folder and see what has been sent out. I doubt anyone would bother deleting any bulk spam.
You should still cover your own ass & double check your security.
I find this quite funny and ironic since you are guilty of same thing, This is the second time you have posted this topic so stop spamming our forum!
Not the case, I didn't mean to post twice. When I originally posted the question, I didnt think it went thru. After I submitted I searched for it and couldn't find it so I posted again. Then I realized the other posted as well. I tried deleting one and as u can see I haven't posted much so didn't know how to delete one... sorry about that guys.....
Actually that is the weird thing, when I go to my sent folder I don't see anything sent.

Are you talking about the mails sent from your PC or from your phone ? Mails sent from phone are stored in sent mails, no problem there for me. Ones that i send from pc don't get stored in phone though.

My friend has the same problem, he uses the stock android email app, there he has both his company email and gmail. He never gets notifications for emails, only when he manually enters the app, then it shows the new mails. If you find any solution please post it here so i can forward the info to him.

On the email app where it says security type for SMTP. If you're using a TLS type, try selecting STARTTLS (Accept all certificates) instead of just SSL/TLS option.
This solution worked for me.

Check the push frequency? Otherwise it may be on the end of your email provider. I know when I worked at 3M and tried to push emails to my phone, I got maybe 1/3rd of the emails. It really could just be the company :/
