ok. i know its not right to post it here. but please someone help ?

ok i seriously need some help. MODs please delete this if you feel like it. but i really want to know the answer for this since i posted it in the OT but no one replied.
my problem is signal issue with the EVO roms. specially from Mdeejay EVO roms
i downloaded the cayanogen rom and i have no problem with the signal " specially if i use it in 2G connection. its almost all the time full bars. while on 3g it sometimes varies between 2, 3 or full.
however, with Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 1.6 Revolution" and the other "warm evo" rom the he made. i do have the signal problem .
it sometimes show to me no bars at all just dots. even tho, if i call, or someone call, it goes through ...i think lol
it keeps on playing with the bars.
whats up with that? i am using a Tmobile version of the phone. " no i am not in US but i wanted extra ram/rom
i have been told that the HD Euro version has better signal. is that bs ?
anyway please please please someone help me with my question about the signal. its killing me. i love this rom so much i want to keep it. even the wallpapers are ****ing amazing. but this signal bar thing is driving me crazy

Honestly man i can't help you! I have signal issues also in all Android roms! I don't think Euro HD2 has a better signal!!! At least mine doesn't!
I feel so bad when i see an old nokia with a full signal and mine is 1 bar or none! I tried radio 2.12, 2.14, and 2.15 all the same and signal fluctuates a lot!
But i should tell you this: I like your nickname a lot!

i might be an idiot if i answer this honestly but so be it. i didnt really flash the system. my friend did it for me . he told me its the best and fastest rom available for HD2 to froyo " built in andriom app to boot also "
all i do is just change the andriod roms by changing the folder on SD card and it does the rest lol.

anyway. actually if you install the cayanogen rom. and switch the network signal to 2G only. it never drops below 3 bars in my case. which is good for me " i dont use 3G at all. and never planing to. i have wifi all around me "

I have the same problem with m-deejay builds.
The connection keeps dropping. Try using a darkstone build. Works fine for me.

but i really like the evo theme the dude used. even the colors and everything. :/
its fast and stable without much of battery sucking.
if i put any other theme it will look desire. i dont want a desire i want EVO lol

I've tried to solve it by using darkstone's kernel but this does not work as well.
Others have this problem as well if you search in m-deejay's threads. I think you should try solving your problem there

i didn't know that there are other people who are having same problem.. i thought i am the only one and ur second in the whole world.
for period of time i thought my TMOB has a problem with the signal .
wtf i was searching in all his thread and i got tired after page 20 since i didnt see anything related.

Try entering *#*#4636#*#* in phone and from the apeeared hidden menus phone information change WCDMA preferred to GSM AUTO (prl)

ok i downloaded a program called no signal bar. from the market place.
it basically notify you when your phone is out of coverage.
and it works very well. so now. if i get a no signal bar from the rom, my signal notifier tell me that the phone is didnt lost signal. i try to make a call and it goes through. its accurate.
so i am happy for now. at least i am not afaird if losing signals when i see the fake bars from the rom playing .
i even tried to call my self when the signal no bars while the program " no signal bar"tells me i still have coverage. and it went through . i am happy panda... for now till i get a better fix for this

3G does not work when the bars are not displayed.

you can install the program called NETWORK from App store and basically change the setting to GSM (PRL) from that program

I don't think there is anything wrong with the phone.
I never had any issues with Windows Mobile or with any other Android build.

i have tried around 3 builds so far or 4.
the only builds that has perfect signal bar to me is Cayanogen Builds " where in the setting there is an option called " Use only 2G networks " and have that checked.
any other version " specially if its build based on EVO ? " has a problem for me.
i am surprised not many are talking about this really.

i cant find a program called " NETWORK" alone.

[Q] Issues with some roms and http://m.telstra.com

Hi everyone.
I recently picked up an HTC Wildfire, and am quite happy with the device, but something odd I've noticed with certain versions of firmware I've tried.
The situation is that I use m.telstra.com to look at my account charges and so on. Now so far if I've used a rom which has adbd running as root, I'm unable to reach that site using the mobile browser. It just times out. (For example Cyanogen mod 6.1 and 7rc1 and other 7 nightlies.)
Though if I use say the DK sense firmware (where adbd isn't running as root) it works fine.
I'm wondering if it's just me, or something other telstra users have noticed something similar at all..

I am running Cyanogen Mod v6 (something) and I can't access 0.facebook. Apparently my mobile isn't a supported network, or that my phones IP address is blocked.

i have wildpuzzle on telstra, will check when i'm around wifi and report back.
i'd do anything to avoid using there call centre

The only issue is that the m.telstra.com page is that for the data to load you have to connect via 3G. That said, it should load a page telling you this.
The odd thing, with roms that have adbd running as root, it just times out.

could it be an issue of the telstra wildfires, run a slightly different frequency for 3g/wcdma i think its 850/ 2100mhz( from memory) as opposed to 900/2100 and the radio that comes with cm7 is 900/2100. do you get a 3g signal at all? just a theory
that being said i haven't flashed a different radio for wildpuzzle and i get 3g ok

I've been careful not to flash the radio on the wildfire so I don't think that is the root cause.
It's just something odd that's all.

Ok I found the issue.
I'd not checked the apn details. With cyanogenmod 7 the handset had defaulted to the telstra.wap apn not the telstra.internet apn.
When using the telstra.internet apn I'm able to get to the m.telstra.com page.

Well i keep loosing singnal on my HD2:
Spec:
NAND HD2 CoreDroid HD V1.6 ANDROID 2.2.1
RADIO: 15.40.50.07U_2.12.50.02_2
NETWORK: ERA *POLAND*
Signal Strenght: -89dBm 14 asu UMTS
I can loose singnal for about 30 minutes and it wont find anything. Then obviously i get 0 dBm. I have had the newest radio but i have changed to that to see if it solves the problem, but it hasnt. So im kindly asking You guys for help and Your opinions.

Try if switching to 2G networks only in the settings solves your problem, this did the trick for me.
I only switch it off for fast 3G downloading, solves the missed call issues for me too.

I do have the same problem and joinnig a 2G network solves the issue, but this shouldn't b the solution, why don't i enjoy 3G networks as well?

With all tho respect i havnt got an option USE ONLY 2G Networks. I have Downlaoded widget APN ON/OFF. It has switched it off Thanks

For me when I was in Poland radio 2.14 or 2.15 solved the problem.
I am now using 2.14, I can see that you are using 2.12 I would change that to be honest and install other radio, just experiment a little and see which one is best for you

I tried several Radios, and still have the same problem,,, i hope we can find a solution before changing the device to another one.

True but i'm unsure if its a network related problem or android because i flashed so many roms with different radio's always experiencing the same data conection drop problem when 3G is on.
So i just flashed back to the stock nexus build to stay.
I wish i could use the full potential of my device too...
(The menu to switch on only 2G network is only available on stock android rom, not on sense roms etc as they use their own menu styles)

Im now definitely sure that its not a hardware related problem as i tried 4 different EU HD2's and they all had the same problem after flashing android.
Now it's only to find out if it's a radio - android compatibility problem or just a flaw in android itself.

Ok,, now again for the 10th time , i started over from task29 , up to installing radio 2.15.50.14,, then boyppc v25 rom,,, and i guess this worked for me, i still have the connection dropping but less often than it used to be. it happens maybe once a day.
isn't there a developer who can help us find out what is the problem and develop a solution for us???

Hello all I have a PROBLEM!
I have an unlocked HD2 using AT&T, my signal is extremely weak so my thoughts were to add an Android Rom in hopes to increase the signal but I have tried several NAND Roms:
RAFDROID
HYPERDROID CM7
NEXUSHD2 GINGERBREAD
HYPERDROID GBX
ARKAT DOUBLESENSE
REDUX V1.2
I am using the MAGLDR 113, installing using CWM 3.2. I am not sure which radio i have... perhaps that's the problem?
It would recognize the AT&T network and would say registering to AT&T but after 30 seconds or so it would say unable to connect at this time.
PLEASE help I am currently phoneless.

Try this radio 2.15 its the newest one procedure is the same as installing magldr
1.make sure the phone is off
2 hold the volume button down and turn the phone on
3 connect your phone to your pc thru usb
4 flash the radio from your pc.

rom has nothing to do with the connection you're getting, if you have the latest radio(2.15.50.14) and the proper apn settings for att, then is definitely the service in your area. I have TMO and I get crap signal in my home with any and all roms, but once I'm outside I get good service, plus in data speed you'll only will get Edge/2G speed , but I'm sure you already knew that happens when using a TMO phone in ATT and vice versa .

I'm using my HD2 on AT&T and mine is working great. I'm running Rafdroid Desire HD Froyo. No signal problems at all.

Lets check whether your device is having a loose connection or not first. Put on your wifi, stand some feets away from the router and see if you can connect. If your having weak signal, stand near the router and check. If you still have a weak signal put on your bluetooth and see if you can discover any other bluetooth devices.
If you are having problem with these two connection as well, then my friend its time to open up your device and prepare for surgery.
Else, despite getting full wifi and bluetooth, if you are still having network problems, then place an aluminium foil on the back side of your device in full.
now see if you are having any improvement. These are just preliminary tests to check whether your device needs some serious disassembling.

I'm having the same problem, although I do get connections sometimes but then when i try to send a text or make a call it says network unavailable. I do have gprs data turned off on my phone's account with ATT. I messed with some settings in the phone options after dialing that *# thing and it worked but like i said after one text it just stoppped and when I go into network settings and click att it says registering and then after a few seconds it says unable to connect

After a few more hours of searching I found a way to get a much me stable connection. However, sometimes I lose signal but not like before, when I used to get a warning notification in the taskbar thing. What you have to do is go into the special phone settings by going to the dialer and typing *#*#4636#*#* where it says wcdma preferred you need to change it to GSM only and do a reboot and you should get much better signal.

3G connectivity issue...

hello friends
i hav a problem with m 3G speed i successfully install the wp7rom by XBmod-Yuki(HD2_Updatable_v2_nativ) and it was working flawless, i have not update it, i was using 7004 build only, while surfing for 15min i noticed that the back side is heated up too much(at this point of time my 3G speed is amazing...no problem at all). so i decided to go back to stock wm6.5(flash via sd card) and i found that i loose my 3G speed.... my hd2 shows that it is connected with 3g data pack("H" icon on top) but it gives the the surfing and downloading speed of GPRS only.
I tried several WM and Android builds but my hd2 is not ready to give me speed of 3G. i did task29(provided by doloop). i again flash the wp7 rom by Hd2Owner (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078). still having same problem....
Plz help me out. any further information is needed to be provided???

Not much of a suggestion for you maybe but..
Contact your provider and see if your SIM is 3G compatible. Many people are using older SIMs which do not use the phones capabilities to the full. They should replace it for free. At least find out if there have been 3G problems in your area.
BTW the overheating you mentioned using 7004 may be due to bad SD drivers which are present in versions below 7392, upgrading might have helped cure this.

1) Previously i was using the same sim card with 3G in the same location
where i am staying now.
2)w7 build of hd2owner is 7.5 only.

today i connect my mobile with my laptop(win XP) to use the internet and the local area connection shows 425mbps speed in status?? when i checked the speed on speedtest.net it shows 104kbps. while downloading a file the speed was 15 kbps.
any suggestion what to do?

is it a hardware related problem???
