Youtube app issue... - Nexus S General

Ok so youtube app is installed on my Nexus S...can't access it in app drawer. Can't delete it (not rooted, do.not.want)
Can't install it from the Market because its already on my phone...
Anyone know whats going on?!

When i first got my phone (used) I did a hard reset and my YouTube widget wasn't in my phone but the app was. I had to do another hard reset and both downloaded the update and worked fine after. Sorry that's my only solution

Market Issues

I'm having a serious issue with the market and I have not been able to find any solutions. No matter what I do, applications will not download. I've wiped cache, dalvik cache, even a factory reset or three and nothing. So I odined back to stock di18 and it still won't download anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Lol - we made threads within a minute.
I've got issues too downloading.

I tried wifi and still a no-go.
Same problem here. Tried downloading an update, and says "Download Unsuccessful" in the notification bar.
I have 2 friends that have the epic 4g and are having the same issue! I rooted the phone for them using the one click root 2.4 and upgrade both to froyo 4.2 beta! I cant say if they had this issue before or not, but they definitly have it now.
Problem: open market try to download any app, it will say that it will download shortly and show briefly in the notification window but then just goes away and never downloads.
I have try connected and disconnected from wifi. Problem still exsist.

Everything keeps foreclosing!

Hi guys i've been noticing since last night that my home screen keeps foreclosing on me and whenever a message comes in it comes in slow. At first I thought it was my launcherpro acting so I decided to go back using the stock launcher but then the foreclosings kept occurring and even when opening Apps it would seem slow to open them. Can anyone help or tell me how to fix this? Thanks
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I'm really sorry, but I couldn't help this...
Blame the bad economy if you're foreclosing!
Lol nice one

Whenever i get forces closes i usually solve it by clearing the data in the app manager or uninstalling and reinstalling.
Are you using a stock rom?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Are you using stock ROM or custom?
Try reflashing the custom ROM if you are. Remember to wipe data / cache / dalvik. This usually solves most problem
My phone is not rooted its stock everything

Also when I flip through my home screens the contact is very delayed
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Did the forcecloses start after you installed launcherpro?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Ive had launcher pro for about 2 months and it would fore close once in a while but nothing too bad. I uninstalled the app and it then the stock launcher started foreclosing on me
I think one of the system file is messed up. I'm not sure though. Maybe you can try to unroot it and flash a stock rom (or hell, just go with a custom rom) to see if it's fixed.
I ended up doing a factory reset on my phone and everything is back to normal thanks for the help guys

Had the same issue last night. I was playing video around 6pm eastern then around 7-7:30pm I was unable to watch any video because it would force close on me. Then I tried my HTC Thunderbolt and it was working just fine. Then I checked the market on my tablet and it was not even showing up in my apps but it was showing up on my tablet apps. Then I went market via browser and it was showing up not avalaible for my tablet but it was avaliable to all my phones. As far as I am aware of it is still not available.... Nope I just checked the market via web browser and it still not showing up (5:30am Est). I hope this is fixed by the time I get back home in the next 11H 30M
Yes just checked mine 5.45pm in thailand and force closing! !

I've noticed that the use of YouTube has been intermittent over the last few days. Just when I think it's fixed, it messes up again. The YouTube forum has the same complaints. Some think it's a badly formed xml list somewhere.
Can't wait until it's fixed for good.
It is a known issue to everyone youtube app force close? Guys if you encounter the same problem like everyone else just send report to let the developer know about this issue

Ok. May be true about those guys as what happens yesterday was a global issue. So might be ok to assume that its going to be fine from now on unless the global issue reoccurs.
Thanks animatechnica.

Android Market - Can't Buy Software - Says I already bought it

I was trying to download Facedroid - Purchase it - and it said I already purchased it and won't install. I went to applications and uninstalled the updates for the market but no go. I did read through some of the posts on similar topics here but didn't seem applicable. Any ideas??

Which ROM are you on? maybe you can clear caches and give it another shot ......
Just a thought... are you using go launcher? They recently fixed a problem where icons were not showing up for installed apps. My thinking here is its already installed but you just can't see it.
If this its the case, install the update for go launcher. goto settings and manage apps and uninstall the program you're wanting. then go back to the market and get it again and it wont hide from you anymore.
I'm probably a mile off base, so onto the next suggestion if I am.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.
I'm running stock OS. No changes. I am running ADW though. I went and cleared cache and removed updates for the Market. Odd....it says I purchased it even on the internet linked site so that leads me to believe it's my profile with Google.
Funny enough...I don't mind trying apps, but if I want it, I'll buy it. I wanted this app and was trying to pay for it and Puff the Magic Dragon showed up!! No app for you, come back...one year!
Try closing ADW and see if it shows up in the stock app drawer.
Did you remove your credit/debit card off your google wallet/checkout account? I did that once and had the same problem. Once i added and verified my mastercard, i was able to download again.
same problem here, (even) the (web) market thinks I've already bought the app and I can't buy it anymore
Im havimg the same problem. I cant purchase swiftkey, says on the apps page i purchased it, but when i click install it says i didnt purchase the app.
Many people are posting they have the same problem, but nobody is saying if they have tried the suggested fixes or not. ???

Running gt14, stock launcher. Tried everything but reflashing with full wipe
I had this a while ago. Think I logged onto web market and said install via there and that sorted it.

The Opposite
I get the opposite, Market tells me I purchased an app correctly then tells me when I ask to install it that I did not purchase it, lol
What a joke Market is
Got a reply from the android market people they said it's a known problem for some apps and are working on it

Thanks for a definitive answer. Not a fix for now but at least one hope.

I'm actually having the same issue, but it's with downloading ADWLauncher EX itself. The market website thinks I've purchased it, but I haven't. I sideloaded ADW first, to see how well it works. Deleted it, tried to purchase it, not working. Cleared cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, everything. It has to be an issue with the market itself. So, yeah. Just a small confirmation.

YouTube overlay problem

I've been trying to play a video off and on all day, but this weird overlay keeps covering up the screen and I can't get it to go away unless I restart. It looks like the Chromecast overlay, but it's been uninstalled, plus I'm not on Wi-Fi. Can anyone explain this?

I clicked on a link to watch a video and noticed the same thing on my YouTube app as well.
Thought I accidentally clicked on something to show that symbol and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it.
Glad to know that it's not just me,.....but hoping to figure out how to get rid of it :-/
I have the same issue on mine at times too. Would love to disable whatever service/feature that icon represents!

Unfortunately uninstalling the updates and not reinstalling them is the only way I can keep it off my screen. As Bsmith states, it does appear to be a known issue according to the comments being left on YouTube in the play store. It is also related to using a Bluetooth connection and the similarity to how Chromecast connects.
