Expanding selections of clk builds. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Im no developer. Just an android lover using clk on this beautiful piece of electronics called a cell phone the HD2.
so i got tired of not really having a big selction, so with that being said i decided to expand clks user selection to three more roms Froyo! these flashable zips are for the desire hd, nexus froyo by tytung, and MIUI froyo by langthang. now the zip for desire hd i only tested with BOYPPC's rom for the desire hd so you can experiment with that one but i know it works for his desire hd just follow the partition guide lines for magldr and its the same for clk. As for the zips for nexus froyo and Miui they are only for those specified roms if you mix and match there will be bad effects nothing to damage your phone but camera will not work so use the nexus zip for nexus froyo and use the MIUI for MIUIfroyo. this is only for froyo.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/habksykgpp5uxl0/Clk_Kernel_for_MIUIFROYO.zip for miuifroyo by lanthang.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/zczwukxqhhu9zuh/Clk_Kernel_for_NexusFROYO.zip for nexus froyo by tytung, and http://www.mediafire.com/file/b9ffrccyv4g0ngf/Clk_Kernel_for_HD2DHD.zip for desire hd froyo builds.Enjoy and hit the Thanks Button.

[Q] Android 2.3

I've seen a load of Android 2.3 ROMs for desire HD, and I know there are already 2.3 ROMs for the HD2. was just wondering if it's possible to get a Desire HD based 2.3 android ROM onto the HD2?
Cheers
there are roms with gingerbread and sense but some things do not work such as the camera and video playback causing soft reboots

Did u even try looking here....I easily counted four (4) different DHD builds...

[Q] Nand or Sd or??????

Hey guys, I have an htc hd2 that has Coredroid hd2 ver 1.6 on it....I installed this using magldr and daf .....this phone is used, but new to me, and I know nothing about this daf stuff...lol....I want to put Cyanogenmod 7 back on it...I downloaded one version but gave me errors when I tried to use magldr to get it to install...I dont recall the errors....I think some usb thing...afraid to try again...lol
Does using daf.exe in the rom file mean this is a nand configuration on the phone?.....What can I do to get cyanogenmod7 on it?.....Could someone provide me with a direct link to a rom that will work....I thought I had the right ones, but couldnt get it to flash so I chose coredroid...but phone is buggy with that and cm7 rocks.......I would really appreciate it....Sorry...I have googled and oogled all over, but I am gettting deeper in confusion....Thanks so much....Larry
try AmericanAndroid . it is based on cyanogenmod 7 and its an SD build.. really smooth and fast. i am currently using it.. i have dual boot with WP7 Nand and americanandroid on SD card with MAGLDR

i didnt like a few things about American Android where the DPI of the text was quite small which resulted in a few ugly looking interfaces such as
applications
unlock screen
menu settings etc
notifications bar
dont get me wrong, i used a build from early April 2011
i hope those are resolved by now or could be fixed, which I admit I didnt explore

I would agree as well. AmericanAndroid was my first foray into Android on my HD2 (getting my TP2 to work w/ Android at all was a huge struggle). In any event, it's a build I can use for my day-to-day work. I have everything I need working, 3G, wireless, GPS, texts, phone, gmail, Exchange email, maps, Facebook , twitter, etc...to tell you the truth I haven't gone back to WinMo since. I still like WinMo and NRG's ROM's with all the great customizations that Poyensa, Nordpolcamper,MrBeOTP2, lnando84, etc do. But I saw that I was making my phone more and more like Android, so why not just use Android? Good luck!
I have wp7 on nand and half of my sd, then dual boot sd Android build with the other half, my current build I am trying is BOYPPC honeycomb ginger thingy, developers are getting back into sd builds now the rush to nand has subsided a little, my thoughts are if you have a device capable of running two operating builds via dual boot, why not user it, NAND is just turning your hd2 into a almost hd desire but not quite, WP7 only turns your hd2 into an hd7 almost but not quite, in my many many tests and trials with my hd2 over the last year NAND and SD builds have very little differences now, in fact I find my latest sd build has a minimal unlock lag as apposed to the slightly more lag with the nands.
So really unless your an Android only or wp7 only fan or possibly a windows mobile only fan use the DUAL Force Luke...
WP7 DB Android SD then
Windows mobile 6.5.5 DB android sd next NAND android then WP7
WOULDN'T it be great if we could quad boot

You can change the LCD density to 240 easily using AmeriCanAndroid.
I remember that I did change it to 240, but still somethings was looking funny and odd , but not everything
maybe I should give this a GO again
AmeriCanAndroid SD build is stable enough. Try it.. there's FAQ which will guide you through the set up.

they've actually changed the default dpi again (to 167), but once again its adjustable.
I think it is currently the only stable (near stock) Gingerbread SD rom available?

MccM HD V4.5
A few hours ago. Mr. mccmjoon76 has updated a newest version of MCCM HD v4.5. I am just downloading it and of course will give a try asap when the dl has finished!! I have tried all builds from him and I really like them, mate!!! Thanks very much to Mr. mccmjoon76
For the AmeriCanAndroid builds are very stable and smooth which I have been using since 032611! It hasn't give me much trouble except some programs will only display very small on the screen and I am sure there are ways to fix it but I just don't know how!!!
i use 3 android roms im my sd now. Americandroid is really fast and stable. its looking isnt so good but withsome widgets i have a nicer scene. second is coredroid , a desire hd build ,it is also fast and has sense. third is miui rom, its very nice but has many problems.i flashed many version of it and found a stable one. i tried almost all sd roms in xda, these three are my favourites.

Which of the miui-roms are you talking about? After (Vodafone) connection problems in a Desire rom I am looking for a new one which is stable for daily use.

[Q] porting sense 4.0

SORRY IF THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN MENTIONED
im trying to port a sensation sense 4.0 rom to our hd2's
im a noob and wanting to try and learn how to port etc

i have used this method :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1222746
and im getting errors in cwm mainly status error 0
what am i doing wrong
the rom im porting is this one :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513055
the target device rom im using is this one:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733649
as it is also a sensation rom but ported for hd2 so i assumed there wouldnt be much to change (probably wrong)
obviously when/if i can get this to run the it will have the energy stuff removed as it wont be an energy rom and isnt my stuff to keep in (thats if it is still in i dont know it wouldnt boot)

Dropbox link added
happy to see your determination on study.
though i dont know how to port
but i know one thing
sharing ramdisk(initrd.gz) of between different major versions of android couldn't work
ie. 2.x/3.x/4.x
you should rebuild a new ramdisk for porting ics.
tips. may be tytung's ics r1 kenel could help.

ok so i have ported it using dsixda kitchen using the energy sensation rom as a base
now im getting error 6 in cwm... from what i have googled i have put it down to my update-script but as a noob i have no idea whats gone wrong
The updater script isn't in linux formatting, you need to use notepad ++
I only use notepad ++ and i think it is in linux formatting, how do you put it in linux formatting
Just found interesting thread in desire hd forum
This is a port from sensation(i think) with Sense 3.6
here
I think that you will try this, it's easier to port from DHD
btw, good luck
stupid question would i use an ics rom as a base since its ics

you have errors in your updater script.
open your file with Vim (press "a" to start typing) rather than notepad++ to see if there is any weird thing
cheers
not to say this but, it will be hard,
sensation is armv7 if im not correct, it will make the port harder :/ but as its based on ICS it wouldn't be to hard neither
Wouldn't it be easier to port a Desire HD build of sense 4.0 instead of from the Sensation?

just found this desire hd build (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1545595) so will try porting that instead
Im not expert but i was thinking it might be easier only because porting normal Desire HD builds is easier to do because the phone is rather similiar to our HD2, or at least so I've read here on XDA. I know when developers started trying to port builds from the Sensation it took a long time to work all the bugs out because the phone is so different from each other.
I also came across another thread about this found here that might yeild some useful help. They are using AROMA Installer to install the build but are having problems getting it up and running as well. I personally have not used it yet so i can't say if there is any benefits or any negative feedback about trying to boot using that or not.
DHD is MSM 8255 with Adreno 205. HD2 is QSD 8250 with Adreno 200. HD2 ~ Desire ~ Nexus One != DHD.
Swyped from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
The Sensation is Adreno 220 so wouldn't the Desire's chipset at 205 be closer and more of a match to the 200 of the HD2? I'm still
learning so I could be wrong but i know a lot of developers had problems porting from the Sensation more so then the Desire HD.
Kind of thinking about it i recall that may have been from the lack of Kernal support or something though. Not sure since its been awhile now.

Speed, look, feel, the 3.6 is more battery and RAM hungry.

Can someone recommend me a new ROM?

Hi all.
I have been away from my HD2 since the beginning of the year when I picked up a galaxy nexus, well I'm having issues with that and its currently at the repair centre.
I used to run American Android on the HD2, but since just looking it doesn't look like its been updated.
can someone recommend me a similar ROM? if its jelly bean or ics that is a bonus but I don't want any htc sense or other bloatware

dtokez,
You are in luck! HD2 has recently received a new lease of life with NativeSD.. If you have a good SD card, you can enjoy ROMs of your choice (GB, ICS or JB) running on the SD card with performance as good, if not better, than NAND. Check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869673 to start enjoying NativeSD ROMs.
Thanks that looks promising, I will have a read through
What ROMs do people tend to be favouring most at the moment?
Aokp jelly bean build3

Or PA 2.15 if you like to mess with dpi's (or not).
NexusHF2 cm9 with tytung's new 3.5 kernel and if you do some trick with build.prob it is stable, fast and very suitable for everyday usage.

BlueOrange Mix v1.2 ICS is tiny and very fast.
Try the nexus HD from tytung with the latest securecrt kernel or the cm9ight from xylograph

I was running this for about a year and a half: TyphooN CM7: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951
This morning I switched to NexusHD2-JellyBean CM10: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930240
The GB build is definitely solid, recommended for everyday use. The JB build is stable until now and I decided to switch to it for everyday use; I have great confidence in tytung's releases.

this rom is good, smooth, stable and flexible custom.
i recommend nexushd2 jellybean http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930240
