or do I first need to flash back to 2.1? and where can i find that version. I would need the dutch (belgium) version?
Did you wipe data and cache before and after flashing?

i flashed to JPM its working great with my fone..and its safe since it dont have bootloaders.

I can flash to JPM and JG6 without any problem but when I flash to JPQ or JPI, it always gets stuck in the Bootloop or at the samsung logo.
JG6-->JPQ or JPI (Not working but worked only once for JPI and JPQ)
JPM-->JPQ or JPI (Not working)
I had cleaned cache and data before flashing. Plz help guys. I find JPQ much more stable and usable than JPM. GPS and everything works sharp for me in JPQ and JPI.
Please help.

Same thing experienced. While flashing from JPM to JPI/JPQ, it's not working. Did not want to risk, so flashed JP4 as of now. Gps not working but no crackling sound.
Strange to see, when updated to JP4 for the first time, gps was getting locked in second and numerous crackling sounds were there. Right now, complete reverse.
I had the same issue; could't go from cutom ROM to JPQ rooted.
I first installed the original stock JPQ, then the JPQ rooted and everything work fine.

I am currently running on stock JPM. I want to try out JPQ. Can i flash over JPM or do i need to flash back to eclair and then flash? I used to have DDJG5, but that is not available on samfirmware.com.

Yes you can flash jpq directly and if you want to revert to eclair you can flash Ddjg6..
Remember to delete boot.bin and sbl.bin from jpq before flashing and a data wipe would be good in order to avoid unwanted problems ...

You will find JPM and JPQ at http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i5800.htm
Their full title would be I5800XXJPM AND I5800XXJPQ. An explanation of what the letters mean is found on samfirmware at the link I have given you. Registration is free.
To find out what you have got go to Applications - Settings - About Phone, and look at your Firmware version and Baseband version.

Basically JPM and JPQ are froyo firmware for our Galaxy 3. These firmwares are European firmwares.
If samsung has not released an update for froyo in your region then you may flash any of these above firmwares onto your phone. There are lots of theads regarding Flashing in this forum.
Keep in mind that flashing a firmware other than that which has been released in your region will void your warrenty.(Well you can always flash back to the old firmware i.e eclair).
You can get these firmwares from www.samfirmware.com or try this thread below

Although this is my 1st post, i've been reading posts from this forum for quite sometime now.
Now, I've basically flashed several official FW upgrades from SAMFirmware on my phone and quite recently, i've flashed Kyrillos V7 then 7.5 on my phone. I've been pretty happy with those but unfortunately, i have to revert it back to the official firmwares due to warranty issues (i.e., my phone developed some problems with the capacitive screen...since my phone is still under warranty, i'm planning to send it back).
I tried flashing back the official firmwares that i've flashed before but now, my phone won't boot. It get's stuck on the flashing Samsung text during bootup.
Is it not possible to flash back the official FWs from a Kyrillos V7.5 FW? If it is possible, am i missing some step? Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
it's possible.......u can reflash to get the job successfully done.
Try reflashing again with the same stock FW.

Reflashing again should do the trick.
If you stuck in boot animation, reboot in recovery and wipe data! This happens to me after reflashing from custom to stock rom!
Aftew wipe, stock rom work normaly!
First flash with 2.1 and than with 2.2...

since yesterday my S-pen stopped working when i resetted my phone (i was on a custom rom then)
I crashed in to a bootloop for 3 days (i just used my backup phone because i didnt had any time to fix it)
After 3 days it randomly booted the phone and i succesfully restored my phone to factory settings (still on the custom rom tho)
after it was resetted my S-pen stopped working and it did nothing on the screen.... It is still being recognized when i pull out the S-pen but i can't use it on the screen.
So i just restored it to a stock 4.4.2 kitkat rom (UK version) but still without luck.... the S-pen is not working
Anybody that knows what the problem is? the custom rom was X-note and before the restore my s-pen just worked fine...
Can someone please help me?

So flash latest mdiazz stock rom or root and flash Alexandr or tkari4 for having complete or mine for light...

i have i9500 galaxy s4 4.4.2 . yesterday i flashed by mistake [my stupidity...] the non latestest stock rom , with the maxfour v15 kernel - which went fine , but after that i had no signal.
now i flashed the latest stock rom which is - I9500XXUGNH4_I9500OJKGNI1_I9500JKUGNH1_HOME.tar.md5.
my imei match the imei number behaind the battery , and when i search for networks , i find my carrier , but i try to connect it says "not registered on network".
i had an imei not match problem in the past with the same current phone .
what do i need to do ?
flash a new model ? , what modem do i need ? [i from israel if it matters]

Flash the same firmware again. Probably not all parts of the firmware were updated.

bro first of all relax and download any custom rom and flash it via recovery say cynogenmod etc..then let it start and check whether you can connect to network if its fine then your hardware is perfectly safe and goahead with flashing the stock rom you downloaded (consider redownloading it to be sure) and flash it and you would be fine

because installing a custom rom by fully formatting phone will delete any corrupted files that are causing the error and when you will flash the official rom it will intsall as a new clean rom and will work without any problem
