Hello there. I was wonder about about Darkys ROM so I have installed 9.5 successfully (thanks to noobish giude).
1) I have upgraded from official Samsung I9000 galaxy S (2.2) to 9.5 ROM + Dark core 1.4.
It gave perfect result - fast and stable.
2) then I did upgrade to ROM 10.1 with help of noob guide (recovery mode, no clean, update via zip file as before, disabled lag etc.). It was successfull too, BUT after install I restarted as in last instruction of upgrade and it has come:
Look at this screen in ATTACH please.
If I let it be it will boot up fine but:
1) it appears randomly inside of system (mostly when sliding notification bar up and down).
2) I cannot see recovery mode (its in there but it looks like it cannot work with display until initialization of system)
Anyone can help me please?

Bootloader problem. I had the same thing when I first flashed GB.

As I do not have enough posts to post in the dev forum appologise for not posting the reply to the Lite'ning Rom v1.1 XWKE7 post.
I installed the rom (after loads of meesing around and boot loops) as I had installed the villian rom first, had to wipe, install stock, wipe allow to boot and run through initial setup, then apply Lite'ning Rom v1.1
once I had the rom installed I was amazed at the speed and the blue colour is great, did not like the over scroll but did not get chance to modify this as I know there is a hack to remove it.
anyhow to the point one the rom was installed I began installing app's etc and re-setting my phone up, I configured my exchange email and my server enforces a policy on the device which includes device encryption, no this is where the problem started.
The SG2 rebooted and instead of performing the encryption (as the stock rom did) and then rebooting again the phone got stuck in another boot loop with the galaxy logo.
I tried the process again, but had the same results.
so for now no matter how much I love the look feel and speed of the rom I am unable to use the rom as I am unable to use my email (one of my main usages of a smartphone)

I had updated defy to the latest cnmod nighty version. ( 110410 ). Eveerything was working fine. i played with the phone for the entire day. video acceleration was awesome and played gt racing.
Suddenly there was problem with wifi connection. I decided to restart the phone. Choose the reboot menu . and now the phone is stuck with the moto logo on startup. Nothing happens after that.
When the bluelight blinks after the android menu , when I press the down button , I get android bootmenu v1.0.5 (By cynongen defy team and galaxy) ,
i was not able to do anything from here. It has these menus :
1)Boot : boot is set to 2nd init
2)cpu settings
3)recovery : in the recovery menu , If i choose latest recovery or stable recovery , I get error in /system/bootmenu/script/recovery.sh (Result: no such file or directory) , and when I choose stock recovery , the phone restarts and is stuck with an exclamation mark )
4)tools: I could understand what to do here.
When nothing did work , I pressed both up and down button after changing boot to normal. there i cleared some cache or something , cleared everything that I could.
After all this my phone is in the same place. A moto logo on startup.
Please can someone help me . This is my first android phone and also the first costly phone I bought and I did something nasty on the first day itself.
i am a normal end user who knows nothing more than gui.

you gonna need latest defy drivers for windows plus a stable froyo i guess

let us know what you do and what changes
are you sure this is a case of bricked defy. I had read in many places it is very difficult to brick defy.

Clear Data/Cache.
Flash Official Froyo 2.2.2 using RSDLite, Use your region correct Froyo (If you are from India use SEA15 Stock ROM -Get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Defy). Everything will be Stock normal. Read everything in the wiki before you flash anything, esp read the "How to get back to Normal in case things go awry" part you will save yourself the High BP!

i have installed the orginal manufactuer android froyo
and flashed it later with cynogenmod 7.1 for defy. The latest stable one that was released yesterday
One more question:
Should I unroot this cynogenmod .. so that I don't mess something.

no it does not have any issues.. at least i could'nt find any.
wifi was working like a charm. used it for around 2 hours ..
Couple of questions..
1) i don't lke the menus flying into the screen. How can i change this animation to the normal fade animation that came with original os.
2)should i unroot my cynogenmod should that i don't cripple it while playing with settings or someother way.
Do not unroot CM7. Make site you make a backup in recovery, that way if you mess something up you can just restore it. As for animations, go to settings> cyanogen settings> display, you should be able to change the animations. If not try spare parts app.

hello my friends, the sound of my S4 stopped after update attempt.
it happened like this.
I was with ROM 4.4.2 (google edition) working normally, when I had the bad idea to go back to stock rom 4.3 (here in Brazil).
But it still fails, downloaded the rom SamMobile site.
I tried to install the rom by odin, doing as I always do.
I made the necessary wypes before the procedure and started the installation. but without success. an error occurred in part (Get PIT for mapping .. There + is + the + PIT + partition)
I tried to install the German rom, it installed but the device was too slow, then redid the procedure and returned to Google rom edition. this when already installed and running showed the following errors:
Does not play and does not capture sound!
No record (but opens the camera)
Lock applications requiring Sound
can someone help me?

Hello, I flashed my S7710 ( skoomer, galaxy xcover 2 ) with CM 10.2. Everything was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, one night I had to have a fatal error during sleep as Android ( app ).
My phone was turning on and off during charging and while connected to pc. I solved it and flashed it once again. It was unstable and crashed few times so I flashed an original ( firmware ) ROM.
Unfortunately, I still got this screen (attached) after turning my phone on. ( just for 3-4 secs ) It disappeares and phone boots normally ( almost because I got small lags during booting, both sound and animation ), starting with samsung logo. Got similar f*ck-ups while getting to recovery but it's not permanent and overall I get to the destination point which is recovery menu.
I would like to know, what should I do with this. Can't find three files rom to this model. ( with pit to re parition it - don't know if it will help but still worth to try ) . I've done all wipes etc. I flashed everything with odin, except CM 10.2 witch had to be installed from recovery.
What's more, this gray-like screen changes a bit if there is another ROM. What I mean is that there are more colorful pixels in the background now that there were on CM 10.2 .
i had the exact same problem. The problem is solved by flashing via odin a stock rom with pitfile and csc file, too. Unfortunately for my device, althought i fixed that error, i lost the touchscreen response. Dont know if it's a software error or a hardware one. If you're still looking i could find it.

I had original modified samsung 4.3 rom,
Using latest TWRP i've done complete format, data and cache wipes, install the rom 'cm-12-20150422-UNOFFICIAL-s3ve3g' and pico gapps.
After successful boot, I'm getting a contest background notification "“Firmware upgrade encountered issue” and it's locked to the background. I've tried to take a screenshot of it but i cannot: while taking a screenshot it captures only the actual screen but not the message. If you want to imagine, think about the non OEM message that microsoft is putting to non genuine windows background. The rom is operating normally without problem but this issue is extremely annoying.
I've tried to put the device in download mode - the same hidden message on the background is appeared even there!
Any idea for solution? Has anyone got the same issue before?

Try re-flash the Latest stock rom via odin or use the emergency firmware recovery via kies
Then flash the latest TWRP 2.8.5.0 by Rox
