[Q] Can't get ANY Android NAND ROM to work - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I have a Vodafone HD2, and tried to run NAND Android on it many times, to no avail. I installed Hyperdroid GBX on MAGLDR, and made sure to follow the instructions carefully. It worked fine, and after a few days, when I tried powering on, it got stuck on the white Android logo. I took out the battery, booted into MAGLDR, recovered to a backup, but it still wouldn't boot, it was just stuck at the Android logo. So I did Task 27, flashed radio (Radio Leo 2.15.50.14), HSPL (2.08.HSPL), installed magldr 1.13, cwm 150MB partition, and the same rom (Hyperdroid GBX Magldr), and the same thing happened. It worked fine for a couple of days, then wouldn't boot. I tried the same process, with different roms. (Typhoon CM7, and Hyperdroid CM7) and the same thing keeps happening. I even tried installing CLK, but with CLK, I didn't even get the rom to boot the first time, it just sat there at the white Android logo.
This is getting to be very frustrating.
Please help me, if you can.

Hi,
Sorry,which version of CWM?

I've been using 3.0.2.5, but I'll try with 3.0.2.4. I'll get back to you on it in a couple of days.
Thanks!
EDIT: The link you gave me downloads a 120MB partition size, but Typhoon CM7 requires a 150MB partition. Is it still going to work?

Hi,
Try KSUBEDI's TOOLKIT (Don't forget to thank him)
There is the ability to downgrade CWM

UPDATE
My phone froze, and then rebooted, however, it gut stuck at the white android logo. I waited for a few minutes, then took the battery out. I ran task 29, then LEOIMG. After that, I installed HSPL 2.08.HSPL, and tried to install MAGLDR 1.13. However, it was unsuccesful. It seemed to have flashed fine, with the progress bar going to 100, then rebooting, but after that, it got stuck at the white HTC screen. I tried taking out the battery, and holding down the power button while booting, but nothing works. I haven't yet got around to flashing CWM.
Do you think that perhaps cLK would work better?
Any help would be appreciated.

Try to:
Install MAGLDR 1.13
Download CWR 4.0 and flash it in MAGLDR: http://www.multiupload.com/VZ1WB57AOY
Download this rom: http://www.multiupload.com/8UPNV5WUZU and install it in CWR.

Thanks, but I CAN'T install MAGLDR.
I flash it, and then my phone reboots and gets stuck at the white HTC screen.

ANOTHER UPDATE
I ran LEOIMG again, and this time tried to install cLK. It flashed fine, rebooted, and then got stuck at the white HTC screen, just as with MAGLDR.
I really am lost here. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

I would say do a task 29 and install wm6.5 first. then start the process from scratch.
Install this ROM this time.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159
This is a closest rom as wm 6. Let me know how it went if everything is fine then you can rule out that your phone is fine. also make sure
your anti-virus is turned off. Taking this simple steps will help you a lot in the future.
Good luck

PROBLEM SOLVED
It seems the problem is, I was forgetting to flash the radio . So I did that, and MAGLDR installed perfectly, as did CWM. I'm just installing the ROM (Hyperdroid GBX) now, but everything seems to be fine.
Thanks for all your help guys!

Glad you figure it out. Please press thanks

Did you try reading the flashing instructions. Refer to the Flashing NAND Android rom link in my signature. The problem is that you probably have the wrong radio. Also please don't start new threads to ask questions when threads already exist. This thread will soon be moved.

Are you sure your spl version is 2.08.hspl and NOT 2.08.0000?
Completly!. SPL-2.08.HSPL as stated on tricolor screen. Thanks for the response.
And you also sure of the radio version? Really strange that it doesn't work. Where exactly does it get stuck, is it after or during the install of magldr?
Absolutely sure. All info is the one shown in the device. MAGDLR installs perfectly at 100%, it stucks at reboot, it shows the white htc screen and that's all, the device doen't work any more and I've to reinstall oficial rom.
Really weird - first one I've seen where 2.08.hspl and 2.15.50 radio doesn't get magldr to boot. Not sure what else to suggest apart from perhaps doing a Task29 to format the NAND area and starting all over.
I've tried one again, including task29 at begining. And i'm still the same, MAGLDR doesn't show the menu and stucks at login htc screen. I want to cry!. I'd appreciate any idea. All DFT needs MAGDLR, I need smthing that doesn´t need MAGDLR, is it possible?.
There are the Android versions that run off sd card which run as a dual boot with winmo.

well, maybe its kinda "stupid" question, but do you press the power (red) button while booting? I mean, you have to press it long enough, till the magldr menu comes up..
Believe me that i've tested that way, and another ones, so as to get it work, but no luck.
I got stuck on the htc logo screen while trying to boot to a previous NAND version I had. [Q] Stuck on white screen while booting up.

Hi guys, I've flashed MAGDLR 1.12 onto my HD2, and have had gingerbread on it for 2 weeks. Then, my screen suddenly turned white and stayed the same after reboot, even after re-flashing MAGDLR. It would not even boot into MAGDLR. However, I was able to enter the default bootloader via Vol-Down while booting. I have tried flashing a few official HTC roms, performing Task29, and downloading the official rom from HTC.com too.
I am currently running HSPL 2.08. Any advice?

Try re-flashing HSPL.
I'm having the exact same problem.
I have opened a thread with this question few hours ago
Is there someone who can help us?
@digital outcast
re-flashing hardspl did not make the slightest change... :S
I assume both of you have tried flashing back to a WinMo ROM right? Does that flash to it ok and provide the same end result (white screen)?
in my case, it doesn't even flash because when CustomRUU starts, and the process begins (everything normal), the indicator freezes at 0% until it gives a communication error and all process is aborted!
the indicator freezes at 0%

When you flashing WinMo? If not(if you flashing android), I think problem is with wrong radio
And you tried a task 29 beforehand? Do you have any antivirus / firewall software running that you can disable temporarily?
Hey there!
I've tried all the methods above indicated.
Flashed a new rom through sd - update failed
Flashed a stock 1.66 Wmo rom but white screen still appears as soon as phone is turned on
Can't downgrade HSPL to 1.42 or so...
Can't do Task 29...
What can I do?
Suggestions?!
Thank you!

Ditto, I have not tried the 1.66 Wmo rom though, will try that and MAGDLR 1.13 when I get back home later.
Anyone else who encountered this problem before? Thanks !
Can you go back to WINMO using LEOIMG.NBH and VOL.DOWN?
Can you boot into WINMO6.5 without problems?
Neither!
The update through HSPL is sucessfully completed, but when phone restarts, white screen appears immediately after...
I've also tried to flash other radios (the latest was installed) but the update fails everytime (through hspl).
I had MAGLDR 1.12 installed and it ran before booting the OS (android), but the white screens appears before that.
Damn!!!
Any ideas?
It actually looks like this when I try to flash a stock rom + radio over the SD card.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618084

[Q] Stuck at GO GO GO!

Hi there,
I usually am able to fix things on my own, but I'm a bit stuck here...
Here are the symptoms:
Android rom = unable to boot up my HD2 beyond the GO GO GO! screen
Win 7 Rom = after GO GO GO!, screen flashes to the DFT logo, then reboots
Stock TMO rom = stuck after the "Get Together" screen
Phone = TMOUS HD2
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
I did the following a few different ways:
Task29 the phone
Install MAGLDR 1.13
I have tried to install clockworkmod 1.3 but cannot access it after selecting AD Recovery (stuck at GO GO GO again!)
Load a custom ROM using the USB Flasher - everything goes well!
Reboot - one of the above symptoms kicks in. Phone no go.
I have tried wiping the device, removing HSPL, reinstalling HSPL, using various ROMs and it won't boot beyond the MAGLDR.
This will be the second LEO to flake out on me in the past six months.
Is it doomed?
Thanks in advance for your help...
You forgot to mention one important information, What radio are you using ?
It could be the problem, and did you try to flash a different one ?
also dont try and boot to an OS with the USB cable attached, always restarts for me, same goes for charging it via a USB cable in to a power adaptor.
Yeah!

My hd2 is also stucked in go go go.
Just flashed radio: Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
MAGLDR 150MB System/5MB Cache (ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5)

Can someone help, please?

HD2 suddenly won't boot anymore, stuck in MAGLDR

Hey guys,
I use a android ROM for a couple of months. Last month it was a bit buggy, freezes suddenly but a restart fixed the problem. Today I had the same problem, but a restart gets me stuck in MAGLDR. I only get the title screen info on top.
I performed task29 and installed magldr again. Same problem, not able to get in the menu screen to flash a new rom.
What to do? Is my device bricked?
Just performed task 29 again, flash 2.15 radio and tried to flash with artemis rom. Get stuck on white HTC screen and it loops over en over.
What to do?!
Did you try reflashing the ROM?
I've tried to flash with artemis and I can't flash via magldr cause I get stuck on the title screen. There are no options on magldr, and yes I hold my powerbutton down.
Help is appreciated!
YES!
It boots on stock rom and everything is working fine. Can I install hspl 2.08 + mgldr again to flash an android rom? Or do I have to stuck with winmo?
I would try an SD ROM first just to see if Android will function.
Not sure if this will help. Sounds like the same issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915839
everything is ok, sorry for opening a thread so soon but I was worried death.
For al people who have the same and read this tread:
-Performed task29
-Installed STOCK rom
-Performed task 29 again
-Installed radio 2.15
-Installed HSPL 2.08
-Installed MAGLDR
-Installed CWM
-Flashed android rom (on NAND)
Working like a charm!
I'm having the same problem... freeze when reading a message. Pulled out battery, starting HD2 and stuck on MAGLDR 1.13 forever.
Isn't this a MAGLDR issue ?

HTC HD2 stuck on white HTC screen

I have installed HSPL 2.08 and wiped (task29) all data. After that, I have installed (repartitioned) cLK, I clicked flash then it went to 100%, but after that when my phone reboots, it just gets stuck on the white HTC screen. I have after that flashed cLK 1.5, and the same thing happens. When I check the PDA flasher which is given with the HTC HD2 Toolkit, it says that there is no Image on my phone, but I have flashed the 1.5 cLK image plenty of times. What could be the problem?

Well if things are not working for you using the toolkit you could try following the instructions in post 3 of this link to install clk v1.5 from sd-card.

Try flash a different ROM and see if it works, if an alternative ROM works it could be a problem with the previous ROM or the settings you used within the phone e.g. might of missed a step or done something like partition sizes or something of that nature.

I'm not exactly sure what's going wrong, but something isn't installing correctly. Task 29 wipes your phone so you have nothing (aka the white screen you're talking about) try rebooting your computer and then go and install clk again. If everything works correctly it should work.

No. To install a ROM, it requires a boot loader and recovery to be installed. Because he doesn't have either installed yet, this is not applicable.
