and here is the link directly to the plugin http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en
thats mobile shell. its not a today plug in but a whole new interface. i didnt like it b/c it screwed up something with my ability to tap the screen. was all messed up. it was a cool setup, but didnt DO anything i didnt already have
Its a great program, the strange thing is my battery lasts about 60% longer.. yes 60%. I guess HTC home was a real battery hog.

ha! i thought i was trippin out about that but it is confirmed here.i use this and pocket plus however i am a noob so my opinion may not matter much
spb home 2.0 - blah blah blah
I have given the new spb home 2.0 plugin a shot. It is very nice. But, because it is not editable (yet) it should take a seat in the back. My two cents.
Nice but expensive
I really like the spbmobile but the cost is prohibitive. {the online discount is $40 and it's still 50 bucks!)
I will continue to use the freeware available here and other places until the cost comes down more.
$29.95 is the price I'm seeing...?
Yeah, it's $30 for me too. Where are you seeing that price tag??
I love MS2. I've gotten rid of a bunch of other plugins since installing this. The only problem I have with it is the no voicemail icon kills me.

I tried Mobile shell 2.0 and liked many of its features but just the opposite on the battery life
It sucked mine down twice as fast
I am using Mobile Shell 2. 0 and i absolutley love it.. I can make it through the entire day on one battery charge, with active sync directly to my exchange server about 5 times per day.. the interface is extremely customizable and you can create your own menus, display, etc... it has a terrific sliding cube interface, which reacts just like an iPhone.. everyone i show mine to instantly starts to drool..
i'd recommend you pick this up. it's well worth the money.
How did you get the cube interface? Are you using the Beta still?
Something is draining my battery, I can't put my hands on it. At first, I thought it was SPB mobile shell, but others are reporting that they are having battery issues without MS2
The program is great. It does not mess up your screen tapping abilities. The finger gestures are very quick and easy to do.
I liked Mobile Shell 2.0, had it on my device a couple of days. It looked sleek but my device is sluggish. Not sure if Mobile Shell was the cause but I didn't like it at all.

I am not using the Beta.. full blown version 2.. you can download it here. http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/download.html?en
The cube interface isn't actualy part of the Today screen, rather, you have a separate menu called 'SPB Menu', which i made as my right selectable hot key. this takes you to the screen where your SPB 'Home', Programs', 'Internet', and other layouts are.. and it's within these menus, is the cube layout.
you can assign as many things as you'd like, for example, in the 'Programs' menu.. then when you open it, you simply swipe the screen to the left, to scroll through the pages.. you can have the programs listed on a grid view, or a list view.. as well as you can assign the motion of how the cubes slide (transition effects -- folding, sweeping, etc.. )
you can then make the 'Mobile Shell' part of your Today page, and it will then display just those icons, which when clicked, will take to those menus..
check out the web link for them. view the screenshots.. it's awesome..
When i started using this and saw how vastly customizable it is, i uninstalled HTC Home right away..
I can't speak to the battery drain. I am on 80% life right now. and it's 5:02 pm.. turned my phone on this morning at 7:30am..
some light internet browing while in the john, and periodic email checks with exchange, and some texting with the wife.. still going strong..
using EVDO network, and WiFi and Bluetooth turned OFF.

nvm I misread
Theres new one has anyone tried it?
After looking at it on spb's website this shell looked like a good deal, but it's not what it seems to be as displayed on the site. As stated above, to have the "now" screen up, you have to map it to a button (or make it so it comes up everytime the phone wakes up. Personally, I don't like this. I'd rather have the "now" screen as the base screen and get to other places on my ppc from there. Is this possible?
I've only been playing with it for twenty minutes or so and I've had no luck finding anything yet. Probably doesn't help I've been writing papers for finals all night and my contacts are friggin dry. Meh, it's a livin.
**Edit**
Yeah, I'm an r-tard. I got version 1.6 something...guess I'll have to go back and find 2.0...................
*Found it, and it ROCKS.
As far as looks go, it's not very customizable; but I love how it functions. There's no real way to set it to the today screen, but like was stated above, you can set it to a soft button and it will stay up as long as you don't close it out. I'm pretty happy with it over all. It's pretty sweet.
There are a few that have created some nice themes.
There is s new version of MS2 out, 2.1.

Well after 5 days of having this phone, it seems to have got very slow...
Going into messages and then opening the keyboard, the screen can just sometimes freeze.
When typing a message there is a good second lag from when I type it to it appearing on screen.
Also, ive noticed that pictures I take with the phone seem to be very pixelated on the phone.
Ive had 2 taskbars at once from opening and closing the keyboard.
Just in general the phones seems to going extremly slow. Panels take ages to open up when the panel button is pressed and take a good 3-5secs to load.
It seems like this phone/OS has a stupid amount of bugs that need to be sorted asap.
Anyone else got these problems?
guess it's a matter of expectations
or you experience issues I don't
I'm in no hurry to update to a newer rom myself
well it was fairly quick and i was impressed at first.
but now this has just turned into the slowest and buggiest phone ive had
do you exit programs or do you just put them in the background?

Disable threaded SMS view, it *should* get rid of the lag you speak about.
Have you tried a soft reset? Leaving the phone running non stop for 5 days will slow it down.

yep done. still seems slow...
is it because of some programs ive installed?
uh is this your first pda? I mean I asked because you said your x1 is slow. may we know its slow compared to what? if it is just slow. then I guess wm6.1 is just slow. Ialso have sim-free one. And have a few pda's from wm2003 to 5, 6 and 6.1 and yep the 6.1 is a bit slow.
Its slow compared to how it was when I got it 5 days ago.
However, i have just uninstalled:
Spore
2 tweak programs
Windows Live Panel
The phone is a lot faster now.
Before I was waiting at least 3-4seconds for messages to loads, the screen to rotate etc...
which tweaks were slowing you down?
yeah which one? might help us make ours faster too.
Have you installed touch flo? that screws up the X1's speed
Ok heres what in uninstalled. This has made the device a lot quicker (well, only as quick as default speed - as it was when the device was first used)
Windows Live Panel
Spore
XperiaTweak 2.0
Some other tweak program, allowed you to change what animations ran etc. Can't remember its name. AdvanceTweak or something
After uninstalling these, it made the device as quick as it was when I first got it.
I haven't got any random roms or anything like that. Everything on the device is official.
No TouchFlo
Standard O2 Rom
Ive editied the registry to remove the O2 Panel but this hasn't made a speed difference.
is it possible that spore run on background, developing it's creature.
I too occasionally get 2 seconds freezes. Could it be some cache setting in Xperia Tweak ? Since I don't understand them much.
You can use task manager (I mean real task manager which show processes, it's in phone:\windows) to check what eats CPU and RAM.
I loaded my X1 full with apps and tweaked a little but it's as fast as after a hard reset
First let me say this is the first issue I've had to date with my HD2. As a die hard win mobile advocate, I love it and it has exceeded expectations at every turn. Today however, I seem to have a problem with HTC Sense. it will not Launch correctly. it hangs on the Launching Sense splash. the Home button is not working. the Start button (hard and soft) is working , but the display freezes anytime i do anything. for instance, i can press the Task Manager shortcut i put on my start menu, and lauch the task manager, but if i minimixe with the X, the x just disappears and the header changes from task manager to start, but the screen is left displaying the the task manager and nonworking buttons (more like a screenshot)
I'm considering restetting to factory, but thought i'd see if there was a way to reinstall sense first (if anyone might agree, thats worth trying first)
Can I reinstall HTC Sense? (without it working properly now)
Is this worth a try?
many thanks, love the forum

have you installed anything recently? if that is the case, try uninstalling that, soft reset and then see if sense leaunches properly. As for reinstalling sense, theres a cab floating around, but its huge...dont know if it will work for you or not as ive never tried it myself
heres the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/401944993/bigboss_Manila_2.5_2016_full.cab.html
you need to install sdcerts first for the above cab to install. it can be found here

good luck!
WOW!!!
MINE DID THE VERY EXACT SAME THING Monday night. I think it was something to do with a game that I must have installed from marketplace a few minutes before it happened. One of the free XIM games i think, or maybe the bartender recipes free app. I uninstalled almost everything and soft reseted about 10 times, nothing. Sense will work for about 30-60 seconds after a reset but then all of a sudden stops working. Leaving that last screen that was open displaying with no responses to anything other then start and end keys. WTF happened??
after a reboot, quickly go and disable the sense from home setting from the setting tab before it locks up. I did that and it is working fine with Windows default or even SPB Mobile shell. Sense is fried though.
Nate
any other ideas peeps?

Follow up, I think it may have been an error with Twitter or HTC PEEP. I was looking around for the Peep app to see if it would run outside of sense and saw the HTC folder in the Windows (windows\htc\twitter\files) folder and found an executable Twitter app.exe. I launched it and it asked if I wanted to log out of twitter, i said yes and then later I turned on Sense and it has worked ever since.
Related??? Dont know.
but I am up and running again. I will report back if it happens again.
ok, everything is still running fine. What I did after the Sense crash.
installed SPB Mobile shell 3.5.5
tried sense a couple more times, failed each time.
Looked for and found Twitter app.exe, launched and logged out of twitter.
tried sense again, worked.
logged back into twitter
Unisntalled SPB mobile shell
No problems to note. Everythign is working as it should.
Running the latest Stock Tmobile rom as well.
seems like this thread has not had any activity lately, does that mean that the OP is not having issues now???
most probably it's not a matter of twitter app. i've never used it, was not logged in and sense still did break down, hangs while "Launching HTC Sense...". got energy ROM, happened for the second time, dunno why am tired of restoring to manufacturer defaults and wiping my device twice a year
A few days ago i noticed some not so smooth scrolling when in my calls log. So i thought the phone had been on too long and did a reboot (which solved the scroll lag).
After the boot. I went into the menu and most of my apps had disappeared (i think mainly on my sd). After a minute or two they appeared (out of order and all on the last menu ) so im guessing it was the sd card (which is the standard class 2 i think which came with the phone) My sd has like 12gb free still. And i only have like 25 apps/games. Anybody noticed similar things? And would upgrading my sd to a higher class slove the prob?
I also noticed that when my phone is on standby and i open the game pad without unlocking the phone (takes 20 secs maybe to launch) then press the back or home button. The 4 quick links next to the menu icon have no icons just blank sqaures for a 10 seconds or so. The same if i open the menu a few icons are the blank ones then they appear. Is this the same for other people?
I never noticed this problem before. And its bugging me. The phone is not rooted, uses the standard wallpaper. And only i have google search on the main screen no widgets. Any suggestions? Im gonna try a reset but thought i would see if other people had any similar experiences. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated
What you are probably seeing here is Android's garbage collection system in place. Basically, when apps need memory, the OS will transparently kill apps that aren't in use without telling you. Generally, the user shouldn't really notice it... but things like your apps not all showing right away is normal when the home app is starting back up after having been killed previously. Things that are relatively resource intensive, such as the Playstation emulator built into the Xperia Play, will most likely cause all other apps that are non-essential to be killed.
I don't know if you've used other Android phones before, but it's pretty normal.
Yeah this is my first android phone . Suppose if its pretty normal i will get used to it in time. Maybe i will unroot the phone and remove all the crap and see if that makes it any better. Thanks for the reply btw

what launcher are you using? if you use launcher pro, there is a "system persistant option" this means it will not kill your launcher in the background, and the apps disapearing issue should not happen

Im just using the standard play UI. Thinking of trying Launcher Pro or GO Launcher EX. If i unlock my phone before opening the game pad the icons are there. Also if i give my phone 20-30 secs after rebooting my apps are where i left them. So i guess i need to have more patience lol
Hello all,
First of all, if this is wrong section to ask, please move to the right one, also if there is already solution to my problem I appreciate link =)
So my problem is, according to title: Microsoft OneNote. When I start new note, it runs smoothly for about one minute or less, after that time it starts to lag. But it is more like display is lagging or it is just not rendering. For example: I write down 2 sentences. When writing third, it is not showing any typed characters, keyboard is running -> one sec stop / freeze -> show all typed characters like superfast typing (not showing all at the same time, but one by one very fast). This stage is relatively OK. Next one is more problematic, because after some time, even keyboard freeze and there is nothing I can do. One temporary workaround is to go to Home screen & back, but it is temporary and after 3 to 5 times the only solution is to terminate app and wait some time and repeat.
This is bothering me some time, maybe a year and it is really annoying. It is not happening from the beginning of using OneNote.
My observations:
I tried to watch CPU usage (greed, red, blue bar) and when it is lagging, red and mostly blue bar is popping. When the screen refresh (when characters are typed) blue bar "dissapear"
Reinstall is not working
No battery saving is set on OneNote
No update of OneNote fix this
Latest version of MIUI is installed
Tried to switch to default launcher (Nova launcher is what i use)
Tried to switch to default keyboard (Swiftkey is what i use)
Force rendering 2D in GPU
Turn off MIUI optimalization
Turn off OneNote sync
And maybe something more I forgot.
Another apps run smooth and have no problems at all. Just OneNote.
Really don't want to put my phone to factory reset...
Is there something I can do to fix this? I Use OneNote on PC and like the sync between devices (used Evernote before), so another app is not a solution.
Thank you for reading, more thank you for replying and my greatest thank you for solution =)
P.S. Sorry for my not very good english.
