Did anyone else get an update pushed that downgraded you from JI6 to JFD (stock)? This morning when I woke up I noticed an update alert from T-Mobile just like I received for the JI6 update. However, when it finishes and I am rebooted, I am back to JFD. What gives? Has anyone else seen this?
Sorry, I didn't see the question a few posts down about this issue. Seems to be what happened to me.
There are couple of other posts on here that report the same thing happening. Not sure what is going on though. Seems like Tmo run amuck.

I too have the update waiting in the notification bar, it's been connecting to the DM servers for the past 20 minutes. I don't want it if it's going to revert me back. Tmobile had no idea what I'm talking about...so what do we do? Keep hitting postpone?! Thank!
Could be....prepared to get flamed....an update configuration the phone needs to update to .....can't say it....ugh, froyo. Ok getting prepared..fire away.

I can confirm the "rumor". I recently contacted support (T-Mobile) regarding an update performed via KIES. After getting them to send out a replacement, I discovered the "update" this morning. One thing to note, the "replacement" arrived with JI6 installed. After installing the "update" I found the following changes to indicate a downgrade.
1. Applications removed/changed. Media Hub (changed), HD Video Camera (removed), & Task Manager(removed). There are probably others but for lack of better phrase, it appears they restored the device to the factory version that the devices came with.
2. About Phone, Baseband and Firmware version changed. Baseband is now T959UVJFD & Firmware is 2.1-update1
So at this point I am one of the more disgruntled T-Mobile customers, since prior to getting my replacement, I was informed there was NO WAY they could downgrade my device, to the factory shipped SW version. I will be making a call to Support and demanding why they have untrained staff, because obviously they would have told their CS staff about this pending 'downgrade'.
Downgrade Confirmed!
I don't know how I'm going to get rid of this update pending in my notification bar. Is my only option to install it?
I was posting on another forum in which I was told that if I installed the leaked 3.1 update on my Transformer, I would get a message "within 3-5 minutes" asking me to update the firmware on my Keyboard Dock, if my tablet was connected.
This update was supposed to enable the following:
- Battery status of dock icon
- Stops the battery leakage that happens when tablet has a full battery but is connected to keyboard, or if keyboard is left in the "unfolded" position
- Multitouch gestures on trackpad, such as pinching to zoom
- Better overall keyboard stability
I am not much one for hacking my Android products, so I waited for the 3.1 OTA update from Asus. I'm VERY pleased with the 3.1 update, and unlike other users I have had no problems (knock on wood).
However, there was no update for my keyboard.
Was this update just a fallacy, or was there supposed to be an update and I didn't get it?
not heard of any update to the keyboard firmware with 3.1
there was an earlier update to firmware taking the keyboard from 0207 to 0209. have you already had that ?

Yes I have.
A description like this is what I am talking about:
It’s the time for Android 3.1 Honeycomb man! If you are preparing your Android 3.0 tablet for official Android 3.1 firmware upgrade roll out then you have something in the internet. Asus Transformer (Eee Pad) receives an unofficial Android 3.1 firmware upgrade. We are certain that it is the final version that will Asus release soon. Most of all Android 3.1 ROM is working perfectly in Asus Transformer Pad. Reports also say that performance and general responsiveness of Eee Pad have been improved after Android 3.1 update. Android 3.1 Honeycomb upgrade also enables a new firmware update for the Transformer dock, which brings with it some bug fixes and a new power saving mode.
Because I'm a "new user" I'm not allowed to post the website I took this from, but it's on best7android.*om
Multiple sites report the new update for the dock coming with the leaked 3.1, but I used the OTA 3.1 and did not get the keyboard firmware update.
to answer your question there's no Docking Battery indicator in the official update
Well...put simply, whoever told you there was a dock update out at the same time as the 3.1 firmware, they were wrong. The latest available public release is still 0209.
Is there currently any on-screen way to tell the status of the dock battery?

You were right, my apologies.
AnandTech is a reputable website, but it was the 209 version that they mentioned. Sorry for any confusion.
Here's the link talking about it:
www .anandtech.com/show /4358/android-31-on-the-asus-eee-pad-transformer/3
I have 0207, and when I go into System UPdate, check, it says there is no update.
Do I need to do something different to update my keyboard?
Ok I'm confused. I updated to 3.1 night before last. A few minutes after the update completed I got another update notice for the keyboard. So what the OP said was true in my case. I ran the update but didn't know about the supposed added features so I didn't try them to see if they are there. I didn't look at version numbers so I don't know what they are and my tablet is at home right now and I am at work. I will add that this is the first keyboard update I have seen since I got it two weeks ago.

There is no 'new' dock update with 3.1. Firmware 8.4.4.5 does come with a dock update rolled into it, but it's just the same one as before, so yours upgraded because it was running an old outdated version. Latest is still 0209.
Just got updated to N950USQU1AQIA, looks like the August Security patch. Any word on what else might be in this rollout?
I got it at as well. I didn't see a changelog but it was larger then the other carrier updates I believe it was over 200mb.
Just updated too. Don't know the details though...
Just updated as well.
Noticed my device status went from Official to Custom and then back to Official. WTH?
Probably pretty much what T-Mobile got in their update. Stability improvements and all that.
Mine was already on August security patch before I took the update so definitely wasn't that. It just said performance improvements from what I could see
I noticed I can now log in to best buy without the browser crashing so that's an improvement. I can now delete their crappy app lol!
Got the update, any of you use bxactions to remap the button? Does it still work?

I just got it on my AT&T Note 8
All I've been able to locate on this update is that there were some improvements to the camera software, wireless charging optimizations, and possibly a fix for the BlueBorne vulnerability. I'm not able to find a full changelog at all.
I think this is to fix Samsung Pay error "Failed to connect to server. Try again later".
I just got the update too (220.93 MB). I already had the August security patch/update.
As soon as I got this update I was also able to now update Bixby to latest version that allows you to disable to Bixby Home on short press. Before this update Bixby would say I was running the latest version but the new option was not there, and settings menu was old format, now it matches what's on this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/71bj0s/you_can_now_disable_bixby_button_presstohome/
Same here just noticed the bixby update
I noticed that I put my Note 8 on the wireless charger and it started updating Bixby. Shortly after all the Bixby updates, I checked for a system update and there was one, but I had to wait for my battery to charge a little. So, I don't know if the ability to use the new Bixby was really contingent on me getting the update or not. I did check and after the update, I am not vulnerable to the blueborne hack. I don't know if I was vulnerable before, but I can say I am not since I checked after the update.

This is what I wanted the most and now running Armis BlueBorne scanner, it is showing the device is safe, which is wasn't previously.
Definitely good news as I use a smart watch and BT headphones.
I got a notification for the new Oreo update. See screenshot. Thought I'd post to let others know. retgb is for UK store bought phone. I've yet to install it and usually like to wait see if any problems before upgrading operating systems.

Yes it's still there when I turn on the screen or actually check for updates. I had no other update notifications since July security patch.
It was there when I checked updates this morning.
Installed, running smoothly, no issues so far
No issues here either.
Installed and working fine. Really like the power off or restart option. One new issue for me is you can no longer just click on the battery icon in the notification bar to get the charging graph. Something I have to do often because aging phone has habit of not going into the faster mains charger mode, and still discharges in usb mode...
Has anyone captured the OPP28.85-13 OTA?
Can anyone post before and after update stats. Are there any issues or improvements with this update?
the issue of overheating was caused by the August security update patch from Samsung. I just flashed my phone with original firmware and ignored the August security update completely. I was forced to flash the firmware again as their is no way you can uninstall a security update.
Practical in never had any heating issues with this phone(unless I was gaming & even then it only got warm)....
So no.....not much difference......
However I do have a question......does anyone know about the lock screen animation option????
For some reason I am not able to locate it after the update....

So I updated my phone to the latest version with with November security patch. I've got multiple issues after that
1. My phone stopped charging after showing check charge ..... Error which got somewhat working itself after few hours.
2. After plugging in the charging starts after 2 3 second delay or more.
3. Flash light not working, works only when plugged in.
4. Connecting my phone to pc is completely broken, shows fast charging and no other option to change the connection type. My phone doesn't know it's connected to a pc not a charger.
5. The hotspot never worked flawlessly, there is some wired issue my fire TV doesn't work with m30s hotspot. It connects, work for few minutes and then stops..

The best solution in can advice you is to either try a Hard Reset.....or Just flash the complete firmware again.......(Option 2 is better....)......
I have not faced any of the bugs you have mentioned....guess the only bug i have is that the phone lasts for a day & half or so.....
Link For Firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-m30/firmware/#SM-M305F
I tried both the option, mine is M307F and I tried to downgrade which wasn't successful as the binary was updated from U1 to U2. So basically I'm stuck right now.
