bluetooth tether with htc hd2 (winMo). any luck? - Eee Pad Transformer General

has anybody managed to get an internet tether from a stock (winMo) hd2 through blutetooth?
i know it can be achieved via an HD2 droid ROM but i'm specifically asking about stock winMo.

Bluetooth pan works from my g2. What does the hd2 use? Pan or Dun with Bluetooth?

the hd2 supposedly uses PAN also but when i select start/tools/internet sharing/bluetooth pan/ connect (to the TF), i get "checking services", then:
"failed to establish internet sharig connection to remote device as it supports only network access point (NAP) mode".
stumped.

On my gw all I have to do is turn on its Bluetooth then on the Transformer I find my g2 in the Bluetooth devices and select it. Then I get another screen asking to connect to Internet. And that's it. G2 uses Pan.

tried it that way. i just don't get the "connect to Internet?" option on the TF; only "rename device" and "unpair".
i wonder if there is a hack to make the hd2 BT work like your g2?
if so, i haven't found it, alas.

your gonna have to install Cyanogen Mod 7 nightly. They just added the BT PAN function a couple days ago. Be warned though the performance of BT PAn isn't that good. They Highest i could get on a download was 1.5 Mbps and that a limitation of bluetooth. You'll do better using the built-in wifi hotspot in CM7.

quick update: i tried moving sims from my hd2 to my old tytn II and guess what? bluetooth tethering either directly via the OS or via wmwifirouter v1.52 now works perfectly! so something is definitely borked in the hd2.
works pretty fast too. i was impressed but it's really frustrating that my old tytn II can do what my shiny new hd2 cannot!
i have v2 of wmwifirouter in my hd2 which no longer supports bluetooth tethering. might try downgrading it to v1.52 to see if that makes a difference.

another update:
i downgraded to wmwifirouter v1.52 on my hd2 and the bluetooth option was greyed-out just as it is in v 2.00.
then i downgraded further to wmwifirouter v1.25. bluetooth option was now selectable! but ...
alas! while the TF pairs, it doesn't provide an internet option to it.
i tried it every which way: start bluetooth then wmwifirouter and vice-versa but no joy.
looks like the winMo hd2 is well and truly useless for bluetooth pairing to the TF, so unless anybody else has any ideas i'll probably give up at this point.

Put cm7 on it.

[Q] Bluetooth DUN from Nook Color to BlackBerry

So, I have been playing with the latest CM 7 build on my Nook Color that has Bluetooth enabled. Are there any applications that can Bluetooth tether a android tablet to a BlackBerry? I've got PDANet on my BlackBerry so it is advertising a bluetooth network conenction, but there isn't anyway I know of to connect to it using Bluetooth DUN. I know Ipas has the iBluever....is there anything similar in android world?
On a side note, bluetooth has been working well for copying contacts, video and pics. I don't have anything else to try pairing with (except my laptop) so limited in what I can test. All in all, can't wait for this to get rolled into the honeycomb build (if that is possible).
Now that I got BT working on my NC with CM7 I am also looking to teather my nc to a nokia E52..
Not sure about bumping etiquette around here, so I hope I'm not stepping on any toes, but I'm also interested in tethering a non-Android/iOS phone to my NC over bluetooth. I have a Sony Ericsson W760, which tethers really easily to any PC with SE's PC Suite application. The devices will connect, allowing the phone to act as a remote for the NC (maybe useful if NC is connected to a stereo for music) and allowing one-way file transfer from phone to NC, but that's it. I'd love to tether 3G, GPS, or even the camera and mic/speakers.
I would think it wasn't possible because of BlackBerry limitations (I'm a pretty hardcore BB geek) but as the OP points out, iBluever does it for ipod.
Maybe a dev here would be able to do something like this?
Just spent about 15 minutes googling it and couldn't find any app that would do it.

I was able to set it up per the instructions, attempting to pair my NookColor to a Sony Ericsson W760 (JAVA powered walkman phone), but attempting to connect caused my NC to freeze twice in a row, requiring a hard reset.

I could be wrong but I think for now the tablet only has the a2dp profile and that's not even including input. That's straight up media playing through bluetooth only. I've tested it on my PC and my PC doesn't see any profiles to latch on to. My PC's bluetooth dongle has pretty much every BT profile imaginable (Toshiba's newest BT stack).
I think I read this in the manual but I can't be certain. I believe I also read that updates may possibly bring new profiles. But I wouldn't stake my life on that....
We rarely get promises fulfilled when it comes to these things.

I also got the same problem with A500 tether with my iPhone BT PAN, that seems Acer didn't put/make the profile in A500.... my old Archos A70 is working perfectly. Heard that ASUS transformer has no problem with BT PAN... Hope Acer fix this issue in the coming update...
This is solution for Motorola XOOM [ http://www.droid-life.com/2011/03/01/how-to-bluetooth-tether-to-motorola-xoom-using-original-droid/ ]. Is it works for Iconia A500?

[Q] Accessories for use w/GrooVe IP

Anyone out there experimented with accessories (headsets w/microphones) for use with GrooVe IP?
I know Bluetooth headsets w/mics don't work now (maybe in the future??). But has anyone tried USB headsets? I would like to try this, but I don't want to invest $$$ if this won't work.
Doesn't have to be just for GrooVe IP, but that's the only thing I need it for right now.
I've got GrooveIP working on my a500. In addition, I've got Obion running its proprietary VoIP solution. I've, also, got a Bria soft phone running several SIP accounts. I'll test it with my OfficeRunner Pro and post results.

Thanks for following up. I can't find my USB headset.
I'm not sure this would be that useful... I just don't see myself using my tablet as a phone. But once my Droid is useless as a cellphone, it's nice to know I can use it as a WiFi phone!!!

[Q] WIFI + Bluetooth Keyboard (different Roms, same Problem)

[email protected]
I found a Viewpad 10S, nearly new, for very low price on Ebay. I had to Buy it!
I've tried using two different Bluetooth Keyboards, with ViewComb 3.2 and JellyBean Rom.
When WIFI is turned on together with a connected bluetooth keyboard, keys are working for a while, then
it beginns, in every aplication, that one key gets locked, and so it is not possible to use
bluetooth keyboard f.e. with surfing in a browser.
exsample:
---> google-search for xda developers
i tipe ---> xda devvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv...
---> endles "v" until i turn wifi off, or wait for a while.
can also be a number, another letter, even commands, "back" f.e.
the keyboard work, with wifi off perfect. or on other devices. my xperia mini pro f.e.
is there a chance for a solution?
P.S.
I post the Question in this forum, becuase i think, this has to do with WIFI, Bluetooth Drivers in the custom Roms

This forum is not that active. The most action is going on at the tabletroms forum.
The only reason that you have this problem could be that wifi and bluetooth together is not a good combination. This is because of the way the tablet is constructed. It is using the same antenna for both wifi and bluetooth and there is just not enough bandwith to serve both. You will see that when you connect an bluetooth stereo headset and listen to streaming music.... It is just not possible. So i think that with your keyboard it is the same problem..

ok...
that is an answer. i will have a look on the board next days...
maybe i can find the point, where the wires of BT and WIFI come together. if so, i could try to seperate both lines and
set a second antenna, f.e from an old BT-Stick. i will have a look, if this problem is hardware-hackable...
but there is still my opinion, this problem can also be solved, by software.
the stock-rom of the pad, doesn't have this problem. i've tried it some days before. there were no problem to use
BT and WIFI, in different constulations, together.

That software is in place (abtfilter)

Its a problem with frequency of Bluetooth and WiFi. They are both 2.4ghz and cause interference, not much can be done really. If Vega supports 5ghz WiFi that might be worth a shot, would require you to probably change router.
Its common issue with most devices (my nexus 7 and Vega too).
