When I use a drawing app, such as sketchbook mobile, the lines are very jagged. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I also occasionally suffer from inaccurate touches and phantom touches. They don't cause huge problems, but they're annoying. I already recalibrated the screen with the app from the market, but that didn't seem to do much.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Btw, I put a screenshot of drawing in this post.
Okay, installing CyanogenMod 7.1 RC and recalibrating fixed the issues with inaccurate touches and phantom touches. The lines are smoother, but could be a lot better

There's an option in the Cyanogen Mod settings that may improve the image quality.
Settings / CyanogenMod Settings / Performance / Enable Surface Dithering.
Don't know if it will help, but it's worth a try.
That was already enabled, but thank you for the reply

I know I'm not the only one with the problem of the laggy app drawer. When you first open it, it's perfectly smooth. Then, if you leave it alone for a second and use it again, it's extremely slow. It happens on any Acer-based rom, including unrooted stock.
Well, here's an interesting fact: This only happens with a static wallpaper. The issue goes away with a live wallpaper.
Why is this happening? Is it a problem with the launcher or the rom?

Wow, that is interesting.
I have noticed that some people experience this issue, and some of them don't. My app drawer does get slow and laggy, but its more just a bit choppy than anything else. It doesn't really bother me so I never worried about it too much.
To be honest, I hadn't noticed that either. However, based on your description, it sounds like the live wallpaper prevents the cpu governor from underclocking (by virtue of the fact that it's more cpu-intensive, thus requiring the cpu to operate at a higher clock), thus preventing initial lag. Just hazarding a guess, though.
finally a thread about this. Here's what I know. I don't think its the CPU scaling because I've tried to fix this. It still happens even when I force it to 1.4 ghz+ the only rom without this problem is virtuous xoom. And it doenst seem to be the launcher. I've tried swapping them around
stock rooted 3.2 and cant make it happan, using reg walpapper. Did not see on previous versions.
I have seen this on other 3.2 tablets... I assume its a gpu thing or just a bug in 3.2

Sounds like the problem is on Acer's end. Email time!

looks like it is hc 3.2 issue - i wasn't experiencing this on hc 3.1 roms
i was trying as well find out the reason...
only thing what i found out - when the lag is there - killing any of running apss will kill the lag for some seconds as well and the app drawer become smooth again.
tested with quick system info pro.
Its the otherway round for me.......the app drawer lags a lot when i use live wallpaper and lags a little less when i use a static wallpaper....i think it depends on the kind of (live or static) wallpaper used on the device.....

It just always lags for me, but as I said earlier, it isn't enough to piss me off or anything. It's only a slight lag.
Everytime I see lag I just tell myself ics will be open source and one of our fine devs will make this awesome

Curious
I dont have a app drawer that lags but out of curiosity would someone with a laggy app drawer plug in a mouse to their unit and scroll the app drawer using that mouse. See if it makes a difference.
app draw lag
Could you explain app draw lag for me please?
is it possible to calibrate the s pen? whenever i sketch or click on a spot, it doesn't reflect the exact point i clicked, instead its a few pixels downwards or right. and this is affecting my work or navigation.
and also how do i enable the pointer on the screen.thanks

Hi, as I have learnt, no method will calibrate my spen, but people have said two things may work. One is to move the spen off each corner of the screen. Two is to change from left hand to right hand in the spen dominant hand settings.
The hovering pen is only available on ICS and can be found this way: settings>pen settings>on screen pen indicator or hovering pen or something of those sorts.
Hope that helps

You could try this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS52aXRhbC50c3QubjcwMDAiXQ..
Although it is initially free you will have to pay to get the full features. As a free app any tuning you do will be erased after you lock the screen. The paid version allows for permanent changes, though I have not used the full version to verify this.

You have to be rooted for it to work and it's great on Samsung roms. It's not so useful on CM9 and roms based on CM9 as there's a bug (?) In the way they handle rotation profiles.
The app itself is great and the writer is very friendly and helpful.

I dont know if you guys have this problem but my Note 2 LTE always recalibrates the wallpaper everytime I press the home button. It would go to the right and the to the left and finally back to the center. All these causes the phone to go into extreme lag while the wallpaper does this. Anyone had similar experiences but solved it?

I'm not sure I follow. Could you please explain what's happening in more detail? And what do you mean "recalibrating?"
I think he means its repositioning itself..
Mine used to do it after a restart it would be fine mine only does it now after a full battery drain, its a weird bug lol.

Yes poor choice of words on my part. I certainly meant reposition. Its extremely irritaing and this problem has forced me to use alternative launchers like Apex though I will lose some great features as a result. Other than changing launchers theres is really nothing I can do. Might be a bug with LJ5 though.

settings -> application manager -> ALL -> SecWallpaperChooser -> Clear data
I had this too.
Hi that method does not work for me. Thanks anyway!

I had this wallpaper moving thing on my note 2 (showed up some days after buying) that i changed for new one due to visual defects and the new one also did this. After clearing data to that apk and afterwards putting new wallpaper, no more moving. Maybe can try to clear other wallpaper apk data, if there is some, but I am pretty sure, that this is the right one
My phone seems overall kind of laggy. I'm on stock 4.2.1 with stock kernel. Just started noticing the lag today. Minimal but annoying and seems to exist on almost all the kernels I have tried.

It's cheap and dirty, but I always set animations to half speed (.5x) and use Nova launcher with the animations cranked to fast. That makes me feel all warm inside.
My advice would be to root and flash a custom ROM such as Parandroid.

How exactly are you defining 'lag' though? I'm on a rooted stock ROM and stock kernel with no issues whatsoever, speed is much faster than any phone I've used before.
I have tonnes of apps installed on the stock ROM. Runs okay at the moment, beautifully smooth
there is definitely lag on the touch gestures. i see it and it's been commented-on in reviews.
eg. when you gesture to scroll or pinch expand there is a momentary delay (fraction of a second) before anything happens. just long enough to be annoying. it's not instant.

That's because of the poor touch screen sensitivity of the phone.

That's not lag, that's just the lack of sensitivity in the touch screen. It's hardware related but if you look at this video from oode (definitely subscribe to him for quality tech videos) it appears that this issue isn't there in Firefox for some reason. As of now I don't know of any solution as such.

Just the occasional freeze for a second on opening the keyboard or apps, seems slower than last week when I got it.

The top up the browser is glitching. Progress bar becomes wavy blue. As I scroll down the glitches image stays. This happens when using quick controls. Running cm 10.1. Have wiped a bunch of times and used different gapps.

Flashing different GAPPS won't do anything to the browser. Go to the AOSP browser page and report this.

Hi,
Have you Light Flow installed?
It seems it's the bug with this app if I remember right or there was something like that. If you haven't Light Flow so I don't know...

No don't have it installed

Hi I have the same problem. It's something to do with having accessibility on in settings (in my case its Light Flow) and having quick controls enabled. It's been noted as a bug here :
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39811
Haven't seen any workaround apart from disabling accessibility options but I like using Light Flow so it's not an option for me.
I'm using Paranoid Android 3.15 so I wish the ROM makers could fix the issue as I don't think Google will continue work on the AOSP browser when they have Chrome.
I had this one my gnex once. Fastbooting back to stock then a clean flash fixed it. Though I have no idea what exactly caused it because I never dirty flash in the first place.
