[Q] multiple email account notification - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

hi, I am curious if anyone can help me with this. I have multiple email account setup with my tilt 2. I am curiuos if there's anyway I can assign different notification sound to each email account when new message arrives? Also, I am curious with either stock rom or cookie 2.0, can I have different notification icon shows on my home screen for different email account instead of just 1?
I am not sure if this makes sense but now I see that when I get email, the icon will display all of the emails from 3 account instead of like 1 from yahoo, 3 from gmail, etc? Is there anyway I can show different accoutn with different icon (I have used spb mobile shell and it let me do this) but I am curious if stock rom or cookie does the same thing.
thanks.

Differentiating E-mail accounts

is there any way to make the envelopes of the email accounts different. I have about 4 email accounts and unless I go over them with the stylus I never know which one is which. Mabe there is a tweak that can make the envelopes different collors or something. What the hell when they made Touchflow the Htc guys tought we will have only 1 email account?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Is the name of the e-mail account on the envelop and the bar when scrolling through them not enough??

no, it is not enough because I want to know witch email has messages whithout scrolling on it. Now all I see are white envelopes with no difference beetween them.
its a good idea if can be developed i knowwhat you mean, to see emails you have to click the envelope then you could go to inbox at the top and select different folders (you see the email name there) but be a nice addition to see the email account on folder, or sysmbol, or something. like Y! for yahoo G for google mail SKY, whatever. a "O" in orange for orange etc
Yes, strange isn't it?
And if your email boxes are empty, there is no way to say which email account belongs to the white small envelope.
And there are only 4 email envelopes No way to scroll to all of them in TouchFlo...
Its like the application is not finished here....
Or are there any solutions for this?
I have 4 email accounts set up. One MAPI(Hotmail), One Exchange Server(outlook main), 1 IMAP4 and one POP3 account. It notifies which one has the new email in it with a number in green. The program is not unfinished. It it complete and does what it is supposed to do. I get notification and then hit the notification and it takes me to the mail box of my choice.
Perhaps there is a way that I am not aware of is to choose which account you want to send it from.
I totally agree, I have three accounts and it is impossible to tell wich envelope is wich account without tap/holding each one. And even worse, even then the names don't always refresh in time, so tap/holding my hotmail account and then tap/holding my work account will first display my work account it as being the hotmail account and only the second time I tap/hold it will it show the correct label.
Really don't like this. I would LOVE a way of differentiating email accounts and also the labels updating in time.....
The small email account envelopes should have been the same as the small picture icons on the right of the people tab, or the small entries on the right of the stocks tab.
Slide out, give full account name, while displaying the first letters of the account name.
And scrollable, so I can see all my 7 email accounts.
A smart Touch3d template builder could make the changes.

A few Fixes Need

I've got two questions relating to ATT Pure fixes.
1. My email setup, I have a Yahoo account I linked up and was receiving emails from when the emails stopped coming, so I adding a different name email account pointed it back to Yahoo mail and everything is working fine.
The question is: how do I remove the old email account that is stuck with 4 emails in the inbox and it won’t go away, I can’t even view the emails. I just want to remove the account and don’t see where I this is located.
2. For those with pure version there are blue icon and bar accents all over the phone, I have updated with some cosmetic CAB the background and make a clear clock etc. however the "program" section still have blue colored backgrounds is it possible to change that to a black?
Thanks for your time and help

Notification on 2 different email accounts

Hi guys,
Hopefully someone has come across this before and might be able to help me out.
I've got 2 email accounts configured on my HD (running NRG's latest Energy ROM).
1 account is for work and the other for home. Unfortunately, my work account gets hammered with emails where I dont want/need notifications however where as I do want sound alerts for my home account.
Is it possible to split notifications like this across accounts or will I just have to live with it?
Cheers
CP.

[Q] Notifications for Gmail?

I have four Gmail accounts syncing and set to "As items arrive". But I fail to see any sort of option that let's me get a notification/vibration when items do arrive, like the Outlook one.
Can anyone tell me where this notification setting lives? Right now, if I get Gmail items arriving, I don't know until I unlock the phone and check if numbers have popped up on the tile.
Also, are they syncing by WiFi when the screen is off?
I'm not understanding. Since I use only gmail maybe you are teaching me something...
What does the phone do when it is off when a normal POP message is collected vs how an imap is collected vs how a exchange is collected?
How do those differ from gmail?
My gmail makes a noise, a short vibrate and then the tile indicates the number of unread.
Does outlook, exchange, pop, or imap act differently?

When I unlock my phone, the WiFi status icon animates and "reconnects". Leading me to believe that when my phone is locked, it isn't using WiFi to do any syncing. This worries me.
My Exchange Outlook makes noise, vibrates, and updates the tile. But my Gmail things only seem to be updating the tile - so I was hoping there was a setting somewhere I just overlooked...
You know what, perhaps the secondary accounts dont get the same notifications as the primary or something weird. Maybe commit to a hard reset, setup only the gmail and see how it acts...I know there is goofy stuff with the calendar that is shown as the main one...
Not sure. I think we will get far more interaction int he at&t forums on certain items but it feels unnatural to leave my precious...my precious! XDA
I have one Windows Live, and 3 Gmail accounts linked to my phone. All my accounts give me the same alert sound I chose in the "ringtones & sound" settings of the phone. All are set to receive as sent. Ive tested, and showed coworkers a few times, emails always seem to arrive with in 30 seconds of sending an email to one of my accounts.

My exchange (work), windows live, yahoo, and gmail accounts are all working in terms of getting the notification via sound and a number of unread messages on the tile.
What is weird is that when I check the lock screen, I see icons for any unread exchange, windows live and yahoo e-mail. I never see an icon for unread gmail on the lock screen, I have to swipe up and check the tiles.
Is this what everyone else is seeing? No big deal, but I would like to see an icon for unread gmail on the lock screen. Oh, I have the Samsung Focus.

I have gmail, WLive and Exchange and I get unread count on lock screen for all three of them on my Focus. I have the alert sound turned off so can't be sure about it.

Thanks for the feedback dhan911. I may delete my two gmail accounts from the Focus and set them up again.

I think WP7 only shows your first 3 email accounts on the lock screen, each in a different position along the bottom.
I have 4 email accounts syncing with my phone (in this order): Gmail, School mail (essentially Gmail), Work 1 email (Exchange), and Work 2 email (Exchange). I can see notifications on the lock screen from my Gmail, school mail, and my work 1 email, but not my work 2 email. I do receive notification sound and vibration for all, however.

Thanks bremic9188, I am seeing icons for three e-mail accounts on the lockscreen, but am getting notifications for all five accounts. Sounds like that just may be the deal.
Another thought. If you are setting it to "As Items Arrive", why not try setting it up as an OutLook Exchange account?
First, delete the previous Gmail Account.
Now, setup a new account, select 'Outlook'. Use your Gmail info. When it fails, enter Your Full Email Address as the User name. When it fails again, select 'advanced' and enter 'm.google.com' as the Server, then select 'show all settings'. Now select any prefered settings, such as turning off Contacts and Calendar if prefered so it only grabs email. Probably change the Account name to Gmail, etc. Now hit 'sign in' and you should be set. It will operate exactly like an Exchange Account.

Gmail account icon

Hey everyone, I need some help. Since the Gmail app updated to the "Material Design" look, I've had an annoyance when trying to switch between my email accounts. In order to quickly switch, you can tap on the icon for the email address you wish to switch to. The problem is, two of my accounts are using the default Gmail silhouette, so I can't tell which one is which from the menu:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwgHw8RSjQikR0pfYWUyWXhxeFE/view
For all three of my accounts, I have uploaded a profile picture via the general tab in Gmail settings in the browser. My personal Gmail shows my picture, no problem, but for some reason the other two don't come through. I'm not sure if it matters, but both are Google Apps for Work accounts . Also, I'm not sure if it has to do something with the sync settings, but I have them set up to sync email and app data. Also, for reference I am rooted and using the stock NC1 AT&T rom and have cleaned off all the bloatware.
Anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks,
shingy
