Text during boot Linux style? - Acer Iconia A500

Is it possible to have a boot in Linux style. Bash spitting out text messages during boot. If you are familiar with Linux you know what I mean. I'm a Linux fan and would really like that.

TC TC TC! How much pain is there in the world! People are trying to hide anything that is in text mode and You want to see it...

[app] developer needed

Heyy basically I have a great idea for an app but I have no experience with Java or developing at all. I was wondering if anyone would actually make me an app. I dunno how payment would work. But we'll figure something out. Just PM me if you're interested.
Thanks

Can we get a little bit more details..
Makes working easier

Well, it's called Tekker (probably) and it gets RSS feeds from all popular technology sites like engadget, gizmodo and techcrunch. I just thought that for some people it would be easier to just tick a box to get feeds rather than have to manually configure it.

So you basic want an app that has the rss channels pre config for just tech based pages?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah basically, but it would be good for it to have a search function to find specific feed items, a nice ui, a page where you can config which of the tech feeds you want to display and the option to add custom feeds. Android users are geeks so it makes sense.

I might help get this started, but no promises. I'm currently trying to get into my business school, so I'm very busy

Xoom documentation

Hi, I'm configuring a Xoom with corporate email. I know how to do it but I was asked to put together some documentation with pics.
Do any of you have somethin like it ready? or it's there screen cap app that does not need rooting?
Give me mock information and I will make you a basic set of screen shots.

You can use the emulator for screenshots. Slow but works. I used it to create documentation on 2.1+ devices for my company.

Real Messaging!!

Okay so I don't have a xoom but I have the g slate no forum for that right now so I'm posting this here. The free amazon app of the day is text plus and its better than google voice to text. It pops up on your screen with a reply box has push notifications and sends your text plus number to your facebook friends or your gmail contacts. I just got it on my g slate and I'm texting my vibrant it seems to be working great and its free so why not try it out right?
Anyways its in the amazon market today for free so go get it and try it out.

Not sure what those apps do because I've never used them but this app gives you a phone number and allows you to text as if your tablet was a phone so its not I'm its text and it has a pop-up notification when you recieve a text. So basically it feels a lot like a native text application. Rather then an instant messaging client

So you can call that number from land line as well?

No, it gives you a number and you text as if that was your actual tablet number.

meh.. useless in that case... hard enough for me to get my friends to test to my gv instead og my voice number... having a different number for my tablet sounds very confusing.
If your friends are that lazy I feel bad for them. It's really simple to add a contact to an existing one and text that number if you don't get a response from the phone number

Linux app, anyone try this?

I don't think I've tried this one but I did try one similar to it and it worked pretty well. I'm a huge Linux advocate but I don't really see the point of full blown Linux on Android. I can see having a full blown terminal with all the binaries but IMO a GUI/DM isn't necessary.
I'm just looking for something I can mess around with to learn more when I'm not home.

You could try this https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Nexus7/Installation
Saw that before. I'm going to try that if I ever finish working on the damn house this weekend..FML.

Making a new app

I am planning to make a app for solving stoichiometry problems.
How ahould I plan it out?
What api's should I use?
How should I structure it?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Draw and note everything on paper first .
How it will function, UI look and feel, how user are able to interact.
Then head over to http:// developer.android.com/
I got the adt and stuff. I just need to know api's and syntax got taking text from a text box and multiplying it.
